Random Thoughts/Things?

Random Thoughts/Things?

I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Any random thought you have, any random thing that happens to you, any random question that pops into your mind. Have fun, and don’t be afraid to be random.

(this is Bobcat, but i'm trying out bottled_haze_ for a bit :D)

so i'm reading this magazine, and when I see the title "Ramen revamp" I'm imediately suspicious. I'm figuring it's going to be something about, you know, things to put in packaged ramen to make it better or that sort of thing. As it turns out, a collection of reccomendations for "packaged ramen". Why the quotes? Because out of five selections, only one of them is ramen. (and frankly it looks mediocre from the pacakging, but we'll get there.) And I love few things more than being pedantic.

One looks like a Chinese noodle stir fry (which is something my dad does with packaged ramen, but it's not really ramen). Do I know it's Chinese? No, but the stylization and characters on it look very Chinese. The next is pumpkin noodles curry with cumin, turmeric, and cardamom sauce. I think it's like a curry with noodles? idk for sure, but I do not think it's a Japanese curry at all, especially considering idk if you'd serve that with noodles, i mean i can't imagine it being served with noodles but i haven't seen how curry is served outside of my dad making some. The next even says it's inspired by a Thai soup called khao soi (not ramen!) and looks like it's made with those long flat noodles that might be used for like chicken long rice (though that can also be the thin clear kind) or mayyybe chow fun or such, like in pad thai but I've only had Americanized pad thai so it might be different if it's real pad thai. (If you can't tell, I don't know noodle types. I love noodles though. also, in technicality, chicken long rice is Hawaiian and chow fun might be Hawaiian too (it's very popular there at least and probably somewhat Hawaiianized). "thin flat noodles" works) The third is the one that's actually ramen, but frankly it doesn't even look good from the packaging (it has a kind of sad-looking soft boiled egg, corn, pork, and green onions. like it's missing all the best parts!! and it just looks bad! idk!) and has a miso broth, which is a little strange to me, but idk if it's unheard of. And the last one is some gluten free noodles that are actually quite good, buuuuuut guess what? The packaged soup Korean and have kimchi! So like. where's the ramen?! Hand it over... or else. *evil laughter*

like at least 4 out of 5 have ramen-type noodles ig? I didn't think that would be a bar because it's so low, but apparently it is. I think 3 out of 5 are actually soup. (i don't actually know the definition of ramen, but i feel like if it's just a noodle stir fry it's probably, well, a noodle stir fry.) i'm all for mixing different Asian cultures together, but it has to happen naturally, and uhhh, they're just calling stuff that objectively isn't ramen ramen.

Here is a short story/scene I had to write for a science assignment, in which I included my AEs because I could not think of any character names (also for fun heh):

The solar system slowly came into view, with a large center star in the middle of the whole system and three planets orbiting it in a circular path. The astronauts on the spaceship observed the scene, taking notes and eagerly finding every single detail and discussing them.

"Commander Callisto, do you see this?" one of the astronauts named Astra asked. "It seems that the center star, which according to my notes, is called Aquarius 53, has quite a large mass, resulting in a gravitational pull strong enough to result in three planets orbiting the system."

"Do you see the smallest and closest planet, Virius?" questioned another astronaut, second-in-command, named Lyra. "It appears red in color, likely due to iron oxide."

Commander Callisto nodded, and said, "We could investigate that planet for signs of life. Do any of you detect moons orbiting any of the three planets?"

"The purple planet with blue stripes, or Caprio, which appears to be made of gas, has two small moons orbiting it," replied Crescent, a shy astronaut who was quietly observing.

"Pilot Orion, what are your observations on the third planet, the one that is farthest away?"

Orion glanced at the cold green planet briefly, before saying, "Geminces appears to contain quite a bit of methane gas, resulting in its green color."

"I see, thank you for your observations," Commander Callisto responded. "Payload Specialist Aries and Mission Specialist Rigel, prepare for landing on Virius. Everyone else, assist Pilot Orion in making the necessary preparations. We shall see if there are any signs of alien life in this foreign solar system."

Real. I still think it's amazing that things you say on here can be put in the mag. Can we make some kind of program where if you get the mag, you tell people if they're in it? I used to get it, but now I don't. For some reason I really want to know.
