I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. sooo I'm going to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in the fall, and I want to cosplay as adult Omega from the finale of Bad Batch (my comfort show/hyperfixation, speaking of, any other fans here?). I've got most of the clothes and accessories but now all I need is to figure out her ACCENT. any tips?

Isn't it weird to think that in the Southern Hemisphere, December, January, and February are the summer months??
it's like the Southern Hemisphere is a whole 'nother fantasy world...
and we'd probably be the fantasy world world to them! Is reality the fantasy world of fantasy?

well she pronouns her name like oMEga, and any word that ends in an r she just kind of skips the r and replaces it with an a (Hunter "Hunta" Crosshair "Crosshey" Brother "Brotha"), so I would sort of just try exaggerating that? When saying an e it will also sometimes sound more like an i (Echo often sounds more like "Icko" and Tech like "Tick"). Whenever mimicking her accent I also put a subtle r on the end of words such as "hello." It's sort of tricky to make myself not sound British, but that's usually what I do! I'm not a professional though so I'd recommend looking up videos of voice actors giving advice about how they do accents. Omega's voice actress is, I believe, just using her actual voice when voicing Omega, but she's done interviews talking about her accent and what goes into voicing omega. I think she did one called "How do you pronounce Omega?" That you can find online, and she's done some live readings and things, so maybe watching her will help.
Ugh it's so cool that you're going! I love The Bad Batch and the other Star Wars cartoons! If you ever wanna talk about them lmk!!

but thank you so much for the tips!! I'll practice (when the house is empty of course, my family might think I've gone crazy if I start walking around just saying "Crosshey" over and over again like some sort of incantation)

YOU GUYS. I thought this day would never come. Like, literally. This day was so impossible I never even dreamed it happening.
did you see that like idk 5 days ago or sometime in 2024 lyn lapid released a song featuring mxmtoon?!?!?!???? As in like the person who wrote my favorite song ever collaborated on a song with my favorite artist ever and what is happening?!?!???? And it's so recent!! *gasp* my current music obsessions are actually still active!! Like, not old-timey music whose artists are dead. :0 sorry new revelation for me this is amazing.
