Happiness is a curious thing

It fluxuates

Like the ocean

Never definite

But always there

Some days the high tide consumes me

Energy and happiness

Flows through me 

Some days I'm left cold and dripping on the shore

Tired after a day

Of all work and no play

Happiness is a curious thing

It bends and weaves 

Through my other emotions

So I can always find little bit

In every situation

Finding happiness that lasts

Is a gift not everyone has

It is a gift that you are given

If you can find the Gift-giver

Happiness is a curious thing

It can lead you to love or steal

But only happiness that comes from Him

Is happiness that's real 

I think that the secret to happiness is to be thankful and appreciate the little things.  I like to think that I do.  I love to look up at the clouds, laugh when something is funny, compliment freely, get excited easily, and smile often.

Sure, life has its ups and downs.  But every single situation has a little ray of sunshine, so I think that true happieness is always possible.

Happiness isn't just joy, it's unexplainable.  All that I know is that I am <3

Generally?...Yes. But I get anxious easily and when I'm anxious I forget that I'm usually happy.

But yes.

I'm happy with where I am, even though there's stuff I'd like to fix. 

Such a simple question

The answer's 

"Yes,"

right?

But then I think,

No.

I'm not.

There are moments,

But I'm not happy with myself.

it's simple if you want it to be

we may spend our whole life, wondering, trying,

and we will always have unahppy moments,

but the trick is to appreciate, find, and create the happy moments we do get

it's not a simple question,

but if you overcomplicate it, sometimes things will get even more tangled

meet each challenge with positivity,

growth, persistence,

it's not easy (the hard truth is that it never willl be)

but if we see the good,

and if don't see it, we make it, seek it out

perhaps everything will be okay

I want to answer in a cool complicated poem that hints that my life has heartache and sorrow, but the answer is just ‘Yes. I like being alive. I like sunshine and moonshine and waking up and falling asleep and being cozy and safe and exposed and bold. I like friends and enemies and spending time with both. I like the world and every single person in it, no matter who or what they are. I like water and fire and earth and air and plasma floating out in the middle of space. I like dreaming and I like living in the moment. I like books and movies and being outside and being inside. And I like all of you, and I like myself. Yes. I’m happy.’
