Ya I guess so. I wanted to post a random thread to see who's here. Too many people have left to keep track of!! Those are the people I haven't seen in a while. I wanted to know if those people were here, but didn't have anything to say, or if they left. Well, I have seen you now!! :D :D

I left for a while, but I'm back now!
I don't post very much, do I? I'm on here about 4 hours a week (roughly) but it doesn't really show. At least not to me. Maybe I don't pay attention to my own posts.

Sorry!! I've been on a book rampage!!! :) I've been here on and off, but on the fourth, I read all but about twenty pages of the first Harry Potter book!! It was soooo good!!!! And it was really funny! I would have finished it, but we went to a friend's house for a few hours. Anyway, I've been a "chair potato" for a couple of days, just reading the life out of everything. So, then in the morning yesterday, I finished it, and did a thing I've been planning for months. It was so exciting. See, my family, especially my dad, have been trying to get me to read them for years, but I was... well... ok, I was afraid they'd be too scary. I know, the first really wasn't scary at all... well, maybe a little, but I sort of knew what was going to happen, since I had seen the movie when it came out. Anyway, I said to my dad, after putting the book away, "Dad, I just finished a really good, funny book that I really liked, and I need something equal in goodness" and I KNEW he would say something about HP because he always does when I ask for a book recommendation, so he said "Well, then you better not read Harry Potter... I don't know if you'll think that highly of it" cause everyone's been playing up for so long and I said "Well, you're right, I shouldn't read that, because it's what I just read!" And he took a double take, and made me repeat it, and then we all were laughing and hugging and he was teary eyed (I don't know why... I think he was proud of me) (clever tricks run in our family, and I'm not very good at them, so this was the ultimate, as Gidget would say, plus I've been refusing to read it for so long) and we couldn't stop talking about it all day. Anyway, now I'm hooked, and can't wait to get started on the next, but I want to stretch it out over the summer. Why do I read so fast? It's not fair!!!
Then after finishing it, I reread all the way through one of my favs, The Swan Maiden. *deep breath* Sheesh, I was typing FAST!!!!
Sorry it's so long!! So, that's why I haven't been on, I've been reading up a storm. :)

Let me get this straight... Your family has been trying to get you to read Harry Potter for years???? I've been begging my dad to be allowed to read Harry Potter for years! But no, he says it's not good literature, and no one's reccomendation will change his mind.
