really? Five? We have rules against this. In fact, we used to have rules against more than 2 AEs but looked how that ended.

Yeah, I agree, even though you merge Lydia and your 4th, I'm pretty sure that the current limi is three.

The limit is three because that's how many different fonts we have, and yes, the war guidelines.

However, someone did say that if you really think you can handle/create four unique characters, go for it. However, it may be hard. If you believe that you're failing, you should stop before you put too much pressure on yourself. I did it once and regret it.

@Catsclaw--

Here's an idea for all those millions of characters that take root in your mind!

You should try making single writes, or RPs, using that character. Or just random stories/short stories for people to read involving them! I've had characters that I thought would make great AEs that found their places in short stories instead. I think it's a great way to get the characters out of your mind.

yeah, i think i might delete Blazestar. mostly because i can't ship him.

Catsclaw, if you don't want to make more AEs, don't. It's that simple. Nobody would object if you want to add onto your current AEs; that happens all the time. For example, Feather's sarcasm and black belt all came after I'd developed her and realized that I wanted to give her more than just being a grammar freak. Not all AEs have to show only one quality of a person. Also, not all AEs have to be shipped. I view my AEs as a combination of two things: myself and comedy. Shipping comes into play under comedy, when Dev teases Feather about Hobbes and Feather teases Dev about Puck.

Basically, what I'm trying to say here is: instead of creating a bunch of threads, all starting with "ahh I hate this I don't want to make another AE but I can't help myself," use those "billions of AEs" in your head and try solidifying them into about 3 solid, deep, and well-developed AEs that you can enjoy using, others can enjoy seeing, and reflect your own personality. I think you'll find that if you do that, everyone will be happy!

yeah...thing is, none of these new ideas really fit any of the others...maybe i could merge Attina and Lydia though...

Yeah Catsclaw, I have a LOT of ideas for books, and, um, not many work with each other, but I think: GO FOR IT! Do what you want! Only merge them if you want to.

Yes, I know, me saying "DO WHAT YOU WANT" is kind of hypocrytical, since I'm literally telling you what to do, but I mean it. It's your decision, so if you don't want to, then don't. If ya do, then do.

I also have several ideas that, like, are polar opposites of each other, but I'm just trying them out for short/long stories, to see which ones are good enough to weather through, and the ones I want to keep.

Hey, excuse me. @..., ~, and =^. .>= . There are no set "rules" or official "limits" for Æs. There never were "rules" or "limits". It's something that everyone thinks was a thing, but never actually was. It's a myth. Should there be "rules" or "limits" for creativity? NO! That's an awful idea. Correct me if I'm wrong, but nobody ever said "Hey you, get rid of some of your Æs because you have too many." I know that the amount of Æs is overwhelming sometimes but you shouldn't stomp on people's ideas and talk about "rules" and "guidelines" and "limits" and so forth. We do not have "rules against this", there is not "a current limit of three". No. I agree that people should take time to develop their Æs and create interesting, original characters, but are there rules that say this? No there are not. Thank you.

It's really not a myth, though. There were limits. And none of us are trying to "stamp on ideas". We are just pointing out that there are guidelines and that they are very much real!

I completely agree that creativity should be infinite. However, I am concerned because a lot of people stress themselves out making AEs.

However, during a certain Evil AE war/several other AE Wars I don't even want to name, the CB came together and decided on a general limit--a loose rule.

Yeah, you're right, I've personally never seen or heard these supposed "rules" But it is true that you might want to not have too many, but personally I think it just depends on the person. I like your AEs, Catsclaw, but I know that I personally could NOT handle more than two or three AEs. I'm actually thinking about making another one, but I'm not ready to commit to it yet.

Also, no offense to the people who are saying that there are rules, I'm not trying to blame anyone or make anyone feel bad, this is just my personal (And rather uneducated) opinion.

So, Catsclaw, go for it! I'm just saving all my character ideas for Rps.

There were rules. We weren't supposed to have more than three AES. We don't need chaos. I understand were you are coming from, but there was a time when everywhere was overloaded with AES. I don't want that again. 3 is fine. We aren't limiting creativity.

Im sorry if I come off as argumentative, but I think 3 AES is more than enough.

Okay, everyone. Remain calm...

I don't know about any rules, but my opinion is that three is enough. You may be able to handle four or five, and yeah, that would be pretty cool, but it might also get confusing. Even for you to keep their personalities alive.

But that's just my opinion. Another opinion: No one should make rules here.

Hope this doesn't insult anyone. Please, let's keep this civil.
