The Kyngdom Project
The Kyngdom Project
I was thinking about how amazing Kyngdom is and how much it's shaped my life, and there has been a little bit of conversation surrounding it, but I wanted to let everyone know that I take the idea seriously. I say that the Kyngdom video game should be real and playable.
If anyone wants to join me and start planning this project, we can talk it over on this thread. Just jump in and discuss, don't worry about jobs yet!

You're Saralayah Pur Arthi's creator, right? Your Nobyl idea is being used now.

Yeah, one of my new charries is one. Her name is Karune Pur Lamour, and someone else (I don't know who) writes for her younger sister Lilly.

Cool!

Hi, can I help?
(February 20, 2017 - 1:01 pm)
Blergh. Yes, I agree with Ember *fistbump* The setting is good but the character design. UGH SAVE ME. I think we could do a LOT better. Like a LOT.
So far my designs are pretty scrappy, (Im doing them on paper first till I settle on something acceptable) And are we thinking sort of an RPG game? Like where you pick out of a bunch of choices and it adds it into the story? I (and this is my view) think that'd work best for a Kyndom "roleplaying" platform. And say if a player chose a certain path they'd still be able to meet certain kyndomers (Ronan, Icy, Storm, The powers, etc.) and then play out an already devised conversation.
I dunno, what'a you guys think?

Yes! That was almost exactly how I imagined gameplay!

So like Undertale? Where you are given a dozen choices at every turn, each of which alters your path in the game, but some things will be the same in multiple playthroughs? I think Skyrim might be like that, too. I've never played it.
(February 20, 2017 - 7:58 pm)
Yes! How would you like to?
(February 20, 2017 - 8:00 pm)
Oooh, could I help?
(February 20, 2017 - 2:22 pm)
Sure! What would you like to do?
(February 20, 2017 - 7:44 pm)
Well, I can do some basic programming. I could do art and music, but we already have no shortage of people there xD
(February 21, 2017 - 6:44 am)
Oh, we can never have too many people working on the art and music. And I have no idea of a clue whatsoever when it comes to programming, so it's good that you do.

A few things:
1. I started a page on the Kyngdom wiki for this. If you can find the wiki, we can also talk there.
2. My brother isn't on Kyngdom, but he is into animating and things like that. He said he would help.
3. Have any of you played Knights of the Old Republic? People are talking about making it an RPG. KOTOR is what I think of. Is that right?
4. Can I voice a charrie? I'd like to do Trixie, but she might not show up (I haven't done much with her), so if she doesn't I'd like to do someone else.
5. I can do vocals for songs with OtR.
6. That's all I can think of for now. I think I'm forgetting something though.
(February 20, 2017 - 7:26 pm)
Oh! I thought of a few more things.
7. Are we going to be writing new songs, or using other people's? I admit, I would get a kick out of helping write lyrics for Radioactive (Materials are Falling into the Ocean. Thanks Humans!)
8. How much music is there even going to be? Like I said, I was thinking of KOTOR, which doesn't really have music.
9. I can play a bit of piano, so if we do write songs I might be able to help play them.

I have always liked chiptune / midi soundtracks. Beepbox is a good, albeit pretty simplified, program for making 8bit tracks, in fact several people have been manually converting real songs (mostly Undertale and S.U.) to chiptune versions. You could attempt to do that with Radioactive or anything else, especially if the sprites are going to be 8bit as Scylla suggested.
I kind of agree with Gared that this is unrealistic, but hey, we can certainly try!
