Not Politics

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Not Politics

Not Politics

Okay, so I read a bunch of the threads near the top of Down To Earth and I realized they are almost all about politics. I think we've all had enough of politics lately. So, let's talk about something else. Like, do any of you guys have pets? What books are you reading or writing? Are you a good artist? Share your best art here! This is a thread where you can talk about literally ANYTHING but politics. So I'll start off by saying I watched the Fellowship of the Ring for the first time ever recently and I LOVED IT! Has anyone else seen it? Who are your favorite characters? Also, has anyone been to the new Museum of African American History yet? I want to go so bad, but I would need either a plane ticket or a long, long car drive to get there.

In order!

1. Yes, a dog named Dudley, but not from the Harry Potter books.

2. I'm reading Fantastic Beasts and Where to find Them-Newt's book, not the screen play, which I desperatly want. (I'm number 42 on hold at the library!) I wrote the beggings of  book set in medival times.

3. I'm not a very good artist. I can basically just draw dogs, and the occasional short-necked, lopsided human.

4. I haven't seen it, although my brother and dad love it.

5. See above, although from what I've heard, I think Arwen.

6. No, I've never been to D.C. I searched it, though, the architechture's really interesting.

Also, I don't think talking about politics is a bad thing. I just like the thread for it's mild escapism, it's nice!

Really? That's super cool! I wish I knew how to crochet. I tried to learn how to knit once, but the blanket I made looked kind of messed up. I'm pretty good at building things and most visual arts (once I helped one of my friends build a table!) and in my opinion, I don't think I'm that bad at improvising. But if I had to make my own clothes, I'd be doomed.

Yeah, you should see the sweater she made me. Yuck.

Hush, Jami. Who pulled you inti this?

And the sweater was grey to. GREY.

Aren't you supposed to be on a train?

Oh yeah. Oops. 'Bye!

I am too! Crafty, I mean, not crocheting a scarf. I love sewing, painting, diy stuff, you name it! I also take Dance, Jazz and Ballet to be exact.

Pets? Oh do I ever! I'll list them:

Inside:

I have two dogs (Abi and Bell). Abi is 13-14ish we don't have her papers so we don't really know her exact age. She's a yellow lab, and super sweet. She's also lazy most of the time. Bell is the exact opposite. She's a black lab, and will be turning four Nov 30. Her puppy energy hasn't worn off since we hit her. The vet said she had the most energy of any dog he had every seen! We almost had to sell her to a farm because of that, but we got her in training instead. I also have two hamsters and brother has one hamster. My hamsters are Winter White Dwarf and Syrian Longhair. The Winter white is Thunder, and the Syrian is Butterball, or Butsy, as she is more commonly known. ;-P My brother's hamster is a syrian fancy bear, and her name is Choco. Thunder has been known to run all night long, very noisily, just like the late Hammie before him. Choco will 'Jog' on her wheel occasionally, and Butterball, no. Basically all she does is eat, sleep, and poop. Then I have Leif, my fish. He's a Beta, and his name is pronounced lAfe, meaning heir, descendant, or beloved. He's pretty smart and he waits at the top of his tank for food every day. Maybe someday I'll teach him to jump out of water and eat off of a stick like I did with Finris, the fish I had before Leif. Then I have about 11-15 (probably more like fifteen) woolly worms. They aren't like dogs or anything, but they make surprisingly good pets! They are fun to hold, and it tickles when they crawl up your arm. You can race them, and they eat leaves, grass, and veggies. Anyway, moving on to my outdoor pets. I have seven chickens, one buff (Im not sure what breed of buff though) four red stars, and two barred rocks. Their names are Letty, Peep, Maple, Burrito, Chicken Little II, Nancy and Louise. Peep and Maple lay every single day, and the others do the best they can. Which is pretty good, actually! My grandparents have an outside dog named Lady, and since she comes to our house so often, (we live right across the road from our grandparents) it sort of feels like she's mine. We live next door to a farm, with sheep, cows, and chickens. They currently have five lambs, two of which I'm planning to buy. They will live at the barn, since we don't exactly have a suitable barn, and I will take care of them. I used to have an outside tomcat named Bamboo, but he ran off, probably to have a family, since tomcats are known to do that. I think that pretty much sums it up! It's possibke I might be getting a new fish in the near future, but I'm not positive. I'll post pics of everyone later.

Oh, also I'm reading Seekers: the Journey begins (or is it quest begins?) and writing a handful of novels! I'll list them.

The elves of Litenis valley

Flyers (part of a series)

Starfire (maybe part of a series, name not decided)

The Five Doors Series (haven't de died on that name yet)

im also doing a few collaborative books, two with my friends, one with my eight-year-old brother. I have covers for two of my books so far, or am working on them. My latest piece of Art is a Swedish landscape that I'm going to enter in the art contest in this months mag.

Cool! While we're on the subject of book writing, I'd like to say I'm also (as some of you may already know) writing a book series, called the Personal Files of Amber S. Hawkes. It has five book series in it, and I'm working on them all at the same time. But Leslie, you're doing FIVE!? That's super cool, but I'm not sure I could pull it off! I already have trouble keeping all my Inkwell Charries, straight! Also, I'm interested in the Five Doors series and the Elves of Litenis Valley. What are they about? I understand if you don't want to tell me ;)

Oops, I meant five books when I was talking about my series and more than five book series when I was talking to Leslie. Sorry, I just read my comment and realized how confusing it may be.

Haha! I figured. Cool! Those books sound very interesting! Well, I can't tell you very much about Five Doors, because I'm not very far in, and I'm kinda doing it as I go. I just figured out the basic plot line a few days ago! But what I've got so far is: There are a few kids, all with strange and unique talents. They go to this academy together, where they are trained, but they don't know what for yet. Then, the MC finds a door in a forbidden room, that she later finds out, leads to another world. The children were going to go into that door and four others like it (one in each book, hopefully) and do something important to help/save that world.

The Elves of Litenis Valley is about four kingdoms of elves who are in a war, but no one is sure how the war got started. In the middle of it all are two sisters, who are both trying to find out what the war is about. One is in a  Rebel Group, and the other will either travel alone, or join the army pretending to be a man.

Also, I forgot about two of my books! One is another collaborative book with my brother, and the other is called The Legend of Falcon Featherblade. Also, I'm thinking about starting a book called The Wolves of The North. I got the idea when I started an RP about it earlier, and a few other books. I always have this endless supply of book ideas rolling around in my head. It's crazy! I always have way to many books going on at once! Anyway, thanks for asking.
