Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Dear CBers,

You are cordially invited to a CB ball.* Be sure to bring your best dress, best costume, best manners, and best food! There will be dances and entertainment for everyone. RSVP to me, the Young Lady, by the evening of the 30th of October. The ball will be taking place on the nights of the 31st and the 1st of November. You will need to bring what I mentioned above: a costume to wear for the Halloween dance and a formal outfit for the ball. Optional, but appreciated, are any kinds of foods you wish to bring. Vulgar and common foods are discouraged. May I also add that the first person to guess me (I may or may not comment) will get to be the costume judge.** You may have ONE guess. Thank you and I hope to see you soon!

Formally, The Young Lady

*Here is the definition, courtesy of Rose bud, on the Ultimate CB guide: CBer balls (noun, activity): Basically where all CBers get invited to a ball, and all the girls talk about what dresses they are going to wear. Earliest known establishmen: unknown.

**Once I have been correctly guessed, I will post the rules for whoever the costume judge gets to be. Warning: if I am not judged by the 30th, I shall be the costume judge, so guess quickly!

May I finally add that NO AEs, under any circumstances whatsoever, may come.

Also, guys are welcome to join, but NO DJs! We will be playing ballroom music on Nov. 1st, but I'll have to think about Oct. 31st. Maybe I will let a DJ in for that.

Might I bring a 5-layer raspberry jam cheesecake?

Costume: Gothic Lydia Deetz*, from Beetlejuice. (Movie not recommeded for those with a weak stomach.)

Ballgown: Peacock green& blue, hoopskirt, embrodidered with desgins of mandalas. (In peacock colored thread.)

My guess is Daisy.

*I am actually doing this for halloween

I will post the winner for the judge on the 30th.

Cheesecake would be most welcome. You are accepted into the ball! Best wishes to you, and your lovely ball gown.

What about...Scylla? Brook? Clouded?

Either way...

I would adore to bring a rare three chocolate fudge.

Costume: Hufflepuff Student from Harry Potter*

Dress: Bodice-Pink lace with roses design. Has five pearls set in the neckline. PearL necklace and bracelet. Skirt-Brown velvet flowing skirt. Kind of like...a blanket. think about what a blanket feels like on your legs when you wrap around around you, loose and flowy. That's what the skirt is. Has some natural pleats. Will draw eventually.**

* Same as Pepper, I'm being this too! :)

** This is heavily influenced by a dress I used to own. It's WAY too small now. :(

And finally, might I add that my dress will be a pastel pink off the shoulder, tight waist, and full skirt silk dress.

My costume will be- well, I am already disguised. As a Young Lady.

I will bring lemonade, tea, and coffee.

Okay, so I never go to these, but a masquerade ball!

Costume: okay, so this is going to be way different than my real costume (I just finally decided to get one today, so now we have very limited time to find one I like. If we don't, that's fine.) But anyway, mine will have a golden masquerade mask, the kind with the weird beak and a few feathers at the top, also the one that covers half the face. This will sound like a ridiculous mash up, but my dress thingy will be like that of Sally's in Nightmare before Christmas (even though I have never even seen that movie). I will wear a bright, glow inthe dark bracelet with spikes (not that sharp) and rhinestones (it's from a game I play). Shoes: eh, idk. Just flats or something.

Ball: Wait, why do I need a separate one? Very well. I guess just a sparkly, silver-ish regular dress with lace at the bottom and feathers on the waist and lower?

As you can see, I'm not one for fashion.

Food: I vote to bring the cooked sushi. YES, COOKED SUSHI. (I have made fish 10x more exciting!)

Will we do anything else other than just talk about our outfits? We don't need someone else to dance.

Eugh, romance stuff. Oh well...

Can I bring Chilly? She's...a CAPTCHAE! Not entirely an AE! Very appropriate...

I'll be wearing Hermione's Yule Ball dress, along with Luna Lovegood's glasses as a 'mask'. The dress is a light lavender, then goes down to a dark purple color. It's ruffled, and...oh...google image it, it's so gorgeous I can't describe it well in words (google Hermione Yule Ball. It's GORGEOUS!!!!).

I will be bringing Luna Lovegood's glasses, which have wing-shapes on the side of them (sort of) are pink, and when put on you can't see my eyes but the left...glass/eye-hole on the glasses looks like a blue vortex, and the right looks like a red. The glasses are a salmon color with a pattern that is stars with circles--ugh, google it. :P I made an anime avatar for this dress. Not really accurate but--

Yes! My guess is hmm... Alexandra?

I will bring blueberry scones.

For my costume, I will be a feathery white, ruffled, ribboned, very complicated angel.

For my gown, I will wear a scarlet dress trimmed with gold lace. It will have elbow length sleeves and a full gathered skirt, and a train on it. Also, a gold necklace and bracelet. My hair will be worn up in a bun.

This sounds spectacular.

My costume with be a light blue levite (a dress from the 1700s. look it up. It's also known as a round gown). My hair will be pulled back in a complicated bun to which I do not know the name of in English. In Russian it is called a Karzinachka (the best spelling I could do), which can be directly translated into "basket", but if you look that up, the results are not accurate to what I am referring to. My shoes are going to be simple black flats, with thin black bows on the toes. My accessories shall be a three dimensional, heart shaped glass pendant. Inside of it, there is a small flower that starts out white at the outer tips of the petals and gradually progresses to an almost black cyan blue in the center. It is attached to a simple black, braided cord. I will also have a white/ blue ribbon woven into my hair. This is based off of my costume in real life, except unfortunately I wasn't able to get a real levite, so I had to settle for something slightly different. Everything else is something I will actually have, though.

My ball gown is going to be a dress that looks similar to the one on the cover of The Selection book one.  It is a cyan blue ruffled ball gown. I will be wearing the same necklace as mentioned above. My hair will be down, though, and wavy. I will wear a bracelet with a small music note charm on it, which is studded with cyan coloured diamonds. I'll also be wearing 1 inch heels, coloured silver.

Finally, food. I will bring in a traditional Russian treat called Trubachki. Roughly translated into "straws". Anywho, they are thin, soft waffle pastries which have a substance somewhat similar, but not the same, as caramel on the inside. I will bring some with walnuts mixed in, and some without, in case of allergies.

Are you Daisy?

Leafpool?

I'd like to bring a dragonfruit custard with sponge cake.

Costume: The Queen of Hearts, from my current novel

Ball Gown: Emerald green silk, full skirt, sleevless, bow at the back. I will wear my hair in a crown braided headband threaded with gold ribbon. Emerald pendant, and dangling gold earrings

*will draw later— maybe

Oh, no ma'am! I forgot to mention the preparty games!

How about a round of twenty questions?

Twenty Questions~

If you know how to play, please pass over the italic instructions. If you don't know how to play, read on!

Instructions: The first person thinks of something in his/her head. The other people must ask yes-or-no questions to figure out the thing! Some examples of things may be a hairbrush or a type of animal. Anything, really. Questions you could ask may be like: Is it bigger than a house? Is it alive? The first person to guess gets to think of the next thing. Also, only twenty questions are allowed. If you and the other CBers haven't guessed it in 20 questions, I win!

All right. I'm thinking of something. Who will ask the first question?

Would you Rather~

Everybody knows this game!  Feel free to post your own "would you rather" questions.

1. Would you rather eat a spoonful of salt or hot chili sauce?

I like spicy foods sometimes; chili sauce please.

Would you rather dance in the rain or sing in snow? (dunno where I got that)

Lindsey Sterling, of course. I love "Moon Trance" especially.

Would you rather watch Doctor Who or Sherlock for the rest of your life?
