Chatterbox: Down to Earth
Whoa. Hamilton is
Whoa. Hamilton is wow. Like, I finally went over to ITunes to listen to some of their songs, and they have some BAD lyrics. I can't believe so many people on Cricket listen to it!
Thankfully, I saw that there was a clean version, so I listened to My Shot and Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story and wasn't impressed. My Shot was like a rap song! I'm not a rap person, at all.
I'm sorry to all those Hamilton fans out there, but I was horrified.

Exactly! I love some of the songs, but honestly, I don't listen to it, because of all the bad stuff. Even the clean songs are filthy!

Oh thank goodness, I was hoping it wasn't just me who felt this way! My parents wouldn't even let me listen to Hamilton because of the "bad songs," but I think the clean ones are ok.
(No offense to all the Hamilton Fans here!)

*snorts* Then you have NOT been reading the lyrics. I. AM. SCARRED. FOR. LIFE. IT TALKS ABOUT STUFF WHICH THE ADMINS WOULD NOT ALLOW HERE!
I did learn a couple things: Both Hamilton and Burr were crazy, and people still think that John Adams is awful when Jefferson was the one who was crazy.

John Adams was pretty crazy... I read Ron Chernow's biography of Hamilton. They all were.

Well, you haven't read John Adams by David McCoullagh, which clearly shows that Adams was not a nutcase. I'm sorry if I say anything that offends, because John Adams is my favorite presidant and so many authors are biased and hate him.

Actually, the part that annoys me most is not the lyrics, but the overall waste of my time and energy.

I listen to hamilton, and i get your point. Normally, i just don't focus on the words.

The whole point of why Hamilton was so revolutionary was because it's a hiphop/rap musical, which hasn't really been done before. I'm not saying I love it either, but there are a few songs - Satisfied, The World Turned Upside Down that I like.

Why Hamilton was so Revolutionary?
Revolutionary. I get it..

Huh? Do you mean filthy as in bad language? I didn't notice any of that . . .? I listened to a few and I'm not crazy about it either. I was pretty surprised as well. I don't really mind rap, but I'm not that fond of it either.

I like Hamilton, but honestly I don't care if it's not your thing. Rap isn't usually my jam either, but I do think that Hamilton is really creative and well-rhymed. Maybe in your opinion it's not worth the hype, but meh. Nobody's going to like everything. I'm not going to be one of those hurt people who start sobbing when someone disagrees with you over a trivial matter.

Hamilton is the best thing in the universe and I do not sway from that belief :)
You really just have to get over the bad lyrics. There will always be inapproriate stuff in the world and eventually you just have to push past it and ignore it. It is a true story, so there's not much you can do to change what really happened. I assume by "bad lyrics" you mean the beginning of the opening song.
Also, not all of Hamilton is rap. I don't normally like rap that much either. If you would rather not listen to rap I suggest The Schuyler Sisters, You'll be Back, Helpless, Satisfied, and Wait for it. I think there's only one swear in all of those songs combined, but it's not really that bad.

Also, Burn is a good song. So sad.
