I've had enough.

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

I've had enough.

I've had enough. Most of you probably haven't heard, but it was on the news today that a certain person I will not honor by naming suggested that Muslims be tested for their beliefs and deported if they believe in Sharia law. I can't express enough how this has impacted me. Anger, indignation, and disbelief are currently whirling in my mind, blocking all other thoughts. I'm sorry, but I've got to rant.

I am a citizen of the United States of America, and so is my whole family. I am aware that most likely this deportation test thing won't happen, but the very fact that it has been suggested is alarming. I mean, seriously? Have we forgotten about the injustice of Japanese internment camps? They say that Sharia law is not compatible with Western civilization, but deportation of innocent people is? I'm crying for my future children.  If people are thinking such horrid things now, imagine fifteen years later. Sure, my beliefs are different from yours. But they're not violent. Walk into any mosque on Friday and you'll hear the imam (preacher) talking about how wrong ISIS is. We as Muslims despise ISIS. I have to go now, but I will continue this rant later. Again, sorry you had to read this. It just feels good to let my feelings out.

Oh my gosh, Cayke. That's terrible. It just goes to show you how most humans are biased, unforgiving, racist, awful, cold-hearted, moronic, idiotic scum. (My apologies, Admins.) The world we live in is a dark, cold place. We can't see through the invisible boundaries that define one human as different than another human. But that's what we are: All of us, humans.

But people don't see that. They punish a whole religion of living, breathing, feeling human beings for the wrongs of one of their kind. It's awful, but it's truth. You can't change what other people do if their governmental position is higher.

But you can change what they think. It's things like this that stir up emotions. If only we saw through belief, origin, and even skin tone and embrace the true fact of all humanity. We are one. We are human. We once were, but we divided and that's that. Why can't we return to that beautiful, simple, unified state? Why can we not forget the qualities that divide us?

The actions of one person should not define their race. It is untrue. They are united under a single belief, but their characters, their personalities as individuals, could not be more different.

Well there you have it. A full-blown storm of a Scylla speech. Thanks for reading.

Oh gosh I'm so sorry Cayke. That's terrible. I admittedly don't listen to the news anymore, but I hear so much about that. People need to see the bigger picture. Btw, I think I might be thinking of the same person you are.

Cayke, I cannot agree more with what you are Scylla are saying! It is disgusting the way some people treat others. You think, looking back at what humans have become, and wonder, why on earth would we let this happen? Because we are selfish little creatures. Not all humans, but the race of humanity itself. The way that we can do that to other people, no different than what we did to the Japanese not long back. Not different than what we are doing to foreigners. Not to mention Native Americans, African Americans, Muslims... anyone that is not "white". It disgusts me. Being part native myself, I understand very well how people are treated.

And with the whole "All Muslims are ISIS" is just wrong. Terribly wrong. I know there are good Muslims out there. For goodness sake, almost all Muslims are good!

It is not just America that has gone astray. Look at the whole world. All of humanity. We are falling apart because of what reason? We. Are. Human. Humans nowadays lack hearts for others. Lack feelings and empathy. Look at the poor, homeless, disabled. All outcasts. Been there, done that. I know how it is.

Although I cannot imagine being Muslim. I get enough problems being poor and being in a big family. Everyone that isn't at your level thinks poorly of you. But being Muslim? I could never imagine that. Yes, you have different beliefs, but that doesn't make you or your people bad. I don't know where people get the idea. Like I said, it disgusts me. What humans have become.

I am sorry for my big rant. Equality is something that makes me beyond frustrated. Beyond the breaking point. I hate seeing this kind of stuff in the news, I hate hearing people being bullied or being "tagged" as something bad. Now, drag me away before I lose it. I swear I could go on this topic all day.

*Drags myself away*

You have no idea how much I feel bad for you and everything you must be dealing with, Cayke. The world's a messed up place, and I understand fearing for your future generations. I feel bad for all the children for these next few years. I guess it is up to us to fix that, isn't it?

Wh-what? I did not hear anything about this, as I live under a rock. Forgive me for my lack of knowledge.

And how will they know if someone who actually does belive in Sharia law isn't lying?

Cayke, I feel so bad for you, but I must disagree with Scylla.

The world is not an entirely horrible place.

In Egypt, a group of Muslim protesters began praying in the streets. They would have been mown down if not for the hundreds of Christians that came out on their own volition and surrounded them, protecting them.

In Egypt, Muslim men flocked to a Catholic Church full of rebels to stand guard and protect the church at all costs.

Because sometimes, people will give up a lot so that one of them doesn't feel left out.

13 friends had their heads shaved in support of one boy who had cancer.

For no reason but that they love each other.

A Holocaust victim, before her death, once said: "Despite everything, I still think people are good at heart."

You may know that victim as Anne Frank.

Anne, whose food was stolen by someone she trusted.

Anne, who was killed by the Nazis for her religion.

Anne still knew that humans, no matter how twisted...

...no matter how dark...

at least started life as good people.

Even Mr. Van Daan.

Even the Nazi soldiers.

Even Adolf Hitler.

Cayke, we know you're not a terrorist, and we support you.

Hey, Crypto just said nixn! Did you know that after Nixon was impeached, he wrote hand-written apology letters to the entire congress? And took great care of his grandkids and kids to make up for what he'd done in some small way?

This is awful. Oh, I just heard.  This is terribly racist. I just...normally I have so much to say, but now, I don't. I just...ARGH America, how did you let...You-Know-Who get this far? That's right, I am so mad I'm just going to call him You Know Who. Maybe You Know Who Two to clarify. I agree with everything you've said. There's a lot of hate and stereotypes going around right now, and it's for no good reason. I am so sorry for the terrible feelings you are experiencing right now.

I wish I could give you a hug. I want you to imagine right now. Squeeze yourself. That hug is from me, Cayke, letting you know I stand with you as a friend.

Oh, Cayke! The world is so unfair. I think the government is crazy right now. I have nothing whatsoever against people who are a different race then I am. I mean, I am... Let's see now... German, Italian, Irish, maybe a bit of French, British, and perhaps a couple others. No one is completely 'American'. Just because somebody has a different skin color or strong cultural beliefs doesn't mean that people can treat them with less respect than anyone else. They're all people, and I don't think that the person you are talking about would still want to do this if he could put himself in a Muslim's shoes. What would he feel like if someone wanted to deport him because of his beliefs? I don't think he would feel very good. So I hope this cruel suggestion doesn't come to anything. We wish you the best, Cayke.

Brookaira, to be honest... I really don't know this You-Know-Who either. I've heard a lot of stuff about Muslims. And you do prove a good point. Everyone is still good at heart, but they are human. Humans make mistakes.
