Religon and Chocolate
Religon and Chocolate metaphors in reality
Has anyone else had chocolate banana? It's not really what this post is about, but it kinda started this post.
So, anyway, today I wanted a frozen banana with chocolate. I found a piece of gelt (Jewish chocolate coins) in the cabinet and used some of my Easter chocolate. And then I realize how weirdly metaphorically that is. I'm Jewish (see OTR's thread) and Christain, and the chocolate that I melted and mixed together is me. I'm having a bit of a conflict. Confirmation and bat miztvah are about now, and I don't know, it's kind of annoying. I go to church, not Temple- my dad, who's Jewish is against religon, so I won't get confirmed, or bat-mitzvahed, if that's a word.
So, this is a religon thread! What religon are you?

As you said Religion and Chocolate, I assume you also meant for us to state our favorite chocolate. I am Muslim, and I love caramel milk chocolate. =))

I'm half/half: Jewish and Christian, like you, but my beliefs are Jewish. I'm having my Bat Mitzvah in next July, so I still have plenty a ways to go. My favorite chocolate is milk, but still super-chocolatey.

And my favorite chocolate is white chocolate. XD

That's a fantastic metaphor! Here's my religion and chocolate metaphor:
Many people like chocolate because it's delicious to them. It's not to me. I don't like it. I don't think chocolate is bad- it just doesn't taste good to me. People ask me what kind of chocolate I like, but I don't have a preference because none of them taste any good to me. I don't hold ill will towards chocolate, I just avoid it. It's the same for religion. I'm an athiest, but I don't think religions are bad or like one more than another. They just don't work for me, but they work for other people, and that's great.
Captcha says hint.

I'm Jewish! I was bat-mitzvahed (it can be a word if we WANT it to be!) two years ago. My favorite chocolate is ALL OF IT! Exept white chocolate. I don't really like that. Haha, Bibliophile, if the gelt and the bunny are your religions then you are the banana because you put the chocolate over the banana!

About the word thing, yes it can over time. Did you know that Chinese characters actually change because people didn't want to write them? They started to put a simpler character in its place and over time, the complicated character was lost and forgotten.

I follow no religion but my own (see below) and love dark chocolate. Like, maybe 65% cacao. It's good.
My religion!
Everyone who follows it is......
•Free to live however they want.
•Free to eat whatever they want.
•Free to spend their Sundays however they like.
•Basically free overall.
So yeah, that's how I live. I try to respect others and their religions, but to me, mine is the highest and always will be. But that's for me, not everyone.

Also in my religion, people can make their own holidays! They submit a description to the town hall and then one holiday is voted on annually.

I felt compelled to talk more with people about religion. So, let's talk.
Religion is serious. And lots of people don't take it seriously enough. There are two types of kids at my church. Those who listen and pay attention during service, and those who play around. The second type aren't just ordinary mess around during service, they play video games.
I don't find this okay. I think it's wrong. How else are they going to learn about their religion of its this lax at home? The first type of kids play around with bulletins, but they pay more attention the those who play video games. *sighs*
This world is such a sad, sad place.
