Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Halloween.&n

Halloween.

Yes, I know. "Too early," you're thinking. But I want time to make/find the right costumes, so I'm starting a month before.

So I have 2 things to say. The first one is, do you celebrate it, and if you do, what are you planning to be this year?

The second is, can you help me choose what to be? Because I have NO IDEA. Just post good things you think I could be that I could make up of parts from home or get things at thrift stores. Here are some things I thought I could be (with why not after.):

A gypsy-I was this 2 years ago.

A pirate-Um... I might be this, but my little sister was this last year, and I'm not really excited about it.

The morton salt girl-If I put down the salt and umbrella, I'd just be a girl with a yellow dress on

Thank you guys so much if you post some ideas!

Last year I was a Monarch butterfly. Unfortunately I didn't get to go trick-or-treating last year because I went to my sisters' state swim meet which was on Halloween. However I went to a museum's halloween party in it.

A pair of dice would be a good costume or some other household object.

A few years back I was a clock and when people asked me what time it was I would say candy time the one problem was that the straps on my clock were not strong enough and at the end on trick-or- treating I was just holding a clock face. My brother was a calculator one year.

Captcha says TENY maybe you should be something small.

Oh my gosh, thanks SO MUCH YOU GUYS! All of these ideas are awesome. I'm still not sure what I'm going to be, but I've been doing some "research" and might be going as the Cat in the Hat. But thanks so much again for giving these ideas! Who knows, I might be one of these for next Halloween!

Cappie says yogi! Yogi bear! I could be Yogi for halloween.....

Hi Butterfly!

I LOVE Halloween and of course celebrate it! There's a family on my block who turns their mansion into a Haunted House and gives out stuffed animals so we have extra-buisiness for that holiday!

I was a gypsy last year and it turned out really well. I don't know what to be either, and I just wanted to say hello. I saw a jellybean bag costume the other year. Take a huge clear bag, cut holes for your arms and legs, put it on, filll it with balloons, tie a ribbon around the neck, and wear a colored unitard under it. Voila!

I love Halloween as well! This year me and a bunch of friends are going to be carollers. Butterfly, I was a gypsy last year. Only or two people recognised what I was. :)

I've been working on my costume for a while, so no, it's not too early.

Last year I was Medusa.

The year before that I was a minion.

The year before that I was a roller derby skater.

The year before THAT I was an artist.

When I was little I've been Thing 1, a poodle, a fairy, Dorothy, the Coppertone baby (the little baby on Coppertone sunscreen), and a sunflower.

This year, I'm going to be Katniss Everdeen.

This year I'm going to be Cleopatra. I gonna have some thin fabric or something to attach to my wrists, like wings. I also need a headress. And braclets. And shoes. All I have right now is the dress. Other costumes:

Red Riding Hood

Harry Potter (twice)

A Witch

Tinkerbell (I was 4 [Or so])

Pumpkin (Like, when I was 3)

Koala (Again, I was really little)

I don't remember the rest.

Oh man, Halloween's the best time of the year. Best time. I'm actually horrible at costumes, uncreative and procrastinating and the whole package, but abstract concepts and mythical creatures are looking good to me right about now.

and since everyone's listing costumes!

Ninth grade: Tiffany Aching, whrein I took refuge in  obscurity. I did make a little clay Nac Mac Feegle, though. That was pretty cool.

Eighth grade: A dictionary? I just sewed bits of cloth with definitions on them all over my clothes, that was fun.

Seventh grade: Some sort of ~mask of darkness~ but also the spirit of Winter, with a reused home-made Princess Leia dress.

Sixth grade; Spirit of fall, but also a witch at the same time? It's complicated.

Fifth grade: Origin of the Princess Leia dress. Pretty sure my at-the-time best friend and I were both Princess Leia.

Fourth grade: Hermione Granger! My hair was pretty cool that year - above-mentioned friend was Harry Potter because she had short hair.

Third grade: Some sort of autumnal dryad combo again; we're seeing definite patterns there.

Second grade: Autumnal-ish witch again! With rubber snakes on my hat, because witching is Serious Business.

First and kindergarten: cat.

Uh, I feel old, I had to clarify some of these with my brother. :/  Not sure if I'm going trick-or-treating this year.

Here is a list of my costumes from kindergarten (first one I remember) to this year!

K-- A rocket ship. No, really.

1st-- Uh, I think I was a black cat. Or was that 2nd?

2nd-- Black cat if it wasn't first.

3rd-- The Grim Reaper >:D

4th-- I moved that year so I put together a last-minute costume-- black shirt, black leggings, sunglasses, a toy portal gun and a hastily drawn and taped on patch and called it an alien hunter.

5th-- Princess Leia. But I lost a spin pin for one of my buns and by the end of the night I had one bun and one not-bun.

6th (this year)-- The Cheshire Cat from the Tim Burton version of Alice in Wonderland!

I briefly considered just going in my normal clothes and ripping off Wednesday from Addams Family-- "I'm a homicidal maniac. They look just like everyone else." But I decided on Chess because, well, the Cheshire Cat is awesome. Hopefully, some ideas were given.

I have had some unorigional costumes, but I'll list them: (In the best order I can remember.)

-Dragon (Pre-k)

-Bumblebee (Transformers) (Pre-k)

-Spiderman (Kindergarten)

-Vampire (1st Grade)

-Frankenstein (2nd grade)

-Zombie (3rd grade)

-Grim reaper (4th grade)

-Ninja (5th grade)

-Assassin (6th grade)

I'm thinking of wearing an all black suit, and putting on one of those anonymous masks. The ones with empasized cheeks and moustache? Anyway, I think you should do something not-scary. But not, well, "cutesy" either. That's just my suggestion. You do you.

GET READY TO BE MINDBLOWN!!!!!!!!!

YOU ARE NOT GONNA BELIEVE WHAT I WANT TO BE FOR HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!

GET READY FOR IT....... 3...... 2.......... 1.......

I WANNA BE A ...........

DRAGON!!!!!! Woah, you totally did not see that coming!

I know what you're thinking: A dragon? Why would Dragonrider of all people want to be a dragon? I mean, she doesn't like them that much, right. Why on earth would Dragonrider be a dragon for Halloween? I just don't get it. Maybe its the doing of the vague yet menacing government agency. (that last bit was from Shadow Dragon's There is a ...... On pudding's place. At least I think I remember it from there.)
