Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Insert witty yet

Insert witty yet deep advice on writing/life/growing up here.

Or: This is my goodbye letter.

I don't know when I started getting Ladybug. I was probably too young to remember. I do, however, remember much of Spider.  My very first issue of Cricket was May 2007, and the cover was dragons (I feel that this was prophetic). I still have that issue, still have every single one I've ever gotten, and I must have read it over twenty five times. I have my favorite stories - the Star Shard, that one about the boy who wins, against all odds, the race to push a ship around Pluto and back - and my favorite covers - that enchanted library one, the dragons, the lady winter blowing snow. I was receiving Cricket before the Chatterbox even existed- I remember the announcements on the letter page. I did venture on a couple times in 2009 or so, reading through RPs but never commenting or participating. No, I would not do that until July 10, 2011 on a HP RP, asking about one of the RPs I had stalked two years ago.

After that came the Dragon RP and, well, the rest is history.

But I do believe my time has come, and rather than disappear, I've chosen to say goodbye. Almost everyone I knew well has moved on, and as I very rarely participate anymore, I figure it's time I did as well.

The CB was instrumental in shaping me into who I am today. I've made a lot of friends and a lot of memories; I've grown and so have my writing skills. I'm 17 now, and I am most definitely not the person I was at 13. This is in large part due to the rest of you CBers, so thank you. Thank you, also, to the Admins. I will miss everyone very much.

Should you like to keep in contact with me, my Nano is Dragon.Slayer.SC (the Dragon RP really did make an impression...)

Much love,

SC

Thank you for this nice letter, SC. We appreciate hearing how much Ladybug, Spider, Cricket, and the Chatterbox have meant to you. Best wishes for the future and feel free to come back and visit us from time to time.

Love,

Old Cricket

Oh, SC. Do you really have to?

I mean, I guess it's not my choice. After all, you are 17 years old now. The resty of us are pretty much 11-14, with a couple acceptions. We will all miss you a lot, and I'm sure that I speak for many other CBers.

Goodbye, SC.

In real life, Hermione is not my name and I am only ten.

Hermione, I know that there are some ten year olds on, actually quite a few, but I was very sentimental when I wrote that post and wasn't paying attention to much detail. Anyway, I would appreciate if you brought this matter up somewhere else, instead of this post. I'm still kind of sad. Thanks. Bye again, SC. We'll miss you! Heck, I don't even know if you're bothering to check this thread now that you've officially left. I'll shut my mouth now.

We'll miss you, but we understand. I hope you have a fun time in the land of adulthood (although try to stay a kid inside :)

SC, I think I speak for all of us when I say that you will be very greatly missed. I understand why you're moving on, but still, the CB won't quite be the same without you.

SC, I'm going to miss you so so much. I never told you, but you were one of my role models when I first joined the CB - and still are. You're an incredible, wonderful person and I wish you the best of luck. In college; in adulthood; in life. I know you'll succeed. I'll miss you like crazy.

Your fellow CBer,

I'm really going to miss you, SC. I completely understand, but if you can, can you try to keep us updated every once in a while? So many of the CBers I knew have moved on, and I and the entire Chatterbox will miss you.

SC,

I didn't know you that well. I'm just the kind of person that slinks in the shadows and comes out every once in a while.

But I still KNOW you, and I'm going to miss you so much.

You've never felt awkward, like most 15-18 year olds are (for me, anyway) and I'm going to miss you like crazy.

But, never say goodbye because goodye means going away, and going away means forgetting. -Peter Pan.

SC, thanks for you're impact on us. I understand your reasons for departure. Even though I didn't spend much time with you, every time I saw a big, long post from you, it made me smile. Thanks for popping up every once in a while in the days I've been on. For making me smile. Have a great life, dude.  Thanks.

*sigh* I always hate saying goodbye.

I don't really see why you should go. Anyone can stay here until any age. But they don't have to. They can leave at any age also.

I..... I never really knew you. I never got to. I never can. I only understood one thing about you. You were amazing. You are amazing. You have been one of the most treasured CBers. And now... now you're leaving. Leaving. Going. Never to return. Never to see the sight of a new post, a new place, a new person. Never to laugh with us. Never to cry with us. Never again will you see the sight of Chirp at Cricket, or Blab about books. Never again to WRITE a post. You won't be here again.

I'm sad. Really sad. Sad about you leaving. I could rant about this for hours, days. But I have to stop. I have to stop sometime. Eventually. I guess that could be now. Goodbye SC. I'll miss you dearly.
