Oh, you're
homeschooled? Cool! I am too! I'm in ninth grade (I skipped a grade).

Right now,
I'm using Apologia biology, A History of Us, BJU Writing and Grammar, The Write
Stuff Adventure, Teaching Textbooks, and classic novels. Some of my curriculum
is Christian, like Apologia science, but that's okay. Muslims believe in a
creation viewpoint, so it's not a big deal.

One thing I
hate is when people assume that homeschoolers aren't socialized. It drives me
INSANE. I'm way more socialized that many public schoolers. I take a tennis
class, attend a writer’s group, and take some other classes. I also have lots
of friends. Homeschoolers are used to being around so many different types of
people. In public school, the kids are forced to sit with kids their age most
of the day, while homeschoolers can interact with people of all ages.

Some people
also think that homeschoolers are academically behind. NOT TRUE. You can custom
the curriculum to suit your child’s needs. Also, homeschooling allows more
freedom in choosing what you want to learn. For example, say you’re interested
in zoology. You parents could use a curriculum that focuses on animals, rather
than forcing a huge diversity of information in the child that he/she probably
won’t need.

So, yeah.
Rant over.

I KNOW RIGHT?! I totally get it. And I use k12, an online curriculum. It sends us books, supplies,  etc., oh and I used A History of Us too. so yeah.

I'm  sorry, but I HAVE to contradict that second part you wrote. (Only ish, though). I  go to a Waldorf inspired privatish school, and I have been there for eight years, (I'm in sixth  grade) and I ADORE IT! Of course, it's not like most schools, but still, school can be awesome! We  don't have too, too much homework, have two recesses a day, we have two soccer teams (A and  B)  and a cross-country team in the fall, and boys and girls, 6 thru 8 grades basketball in the  winter, and study math, singing, pottery, blacksmithing, TONS and TONS of art, drama, woodworking, ag. (agricultural) arts, and physical educational stuff. In Main Lesson, in our/the Yurt,  we have many blocks on different subjects that last about a month. Sorry again, rant's over. I  hope I didn't sound like too much of a stuck-up priss.
