You might know this from my long long ago schools thread, but I am in private school that's like super tiny but also 1-2 grades ahead. I do feel a little lack in the amount of extracurriculars because the school has only 1 real extracurricular activity, but otherwise I love my school.

I go to public, and frankly, I think homeschooling is a smidge overated.

AHEM! Please explain why.

I don't want to argue, but it turns out a mild stating of my opinion will bring a confused and overly dramatic answer demanding an also over dramatic response. That, along with the lists of reasons homeschooling is "better" than public schooling confirms you adore homeschooling. Blind adoration without considering the odds just SCREAMS overrated.

*sigh*Indigo, I used to school u know...I think when you're older u'll understand. What've u got against it anyway?

I'm not so prejudiced against it as you seem to think, Cake. Maybe I'm a nerd, maybe I'm a teacher's pet, maybe I don't pertend to be cool by hating on the school/teacher, maybe I like hanging with my friends at school, but I do not hate it. I just don't adore it like you homeschoolers appear to. I was just stating my opinion ( If it triggers such an angry response, I should probably not state opinions) and then explaining why. Can we not argue ?? I've got other, more interesting, ways to spend my free time.

It's ok if u enjoy school. Not everyone likes homeschool. You just don't need to badmouth it though.

Cakye, you may want to find one of the recent debate threads... Indigo was very pro-school (he had some great arguements for it)

I'm homeschooled, but I take some classes at the school.

I'm in my freshman year of high school (I'm not homeschooled). And I love it! It's for performing arts, and as I believe I mentioned on another thread at some point, I swear it's like a musical every day. Dancers performing in the hallways, singers (including me) breaking out into song, people playing the bongos nonstop, and even a guy who sits on a bench and plays the ukelele - it all happens on a regular basis. It might seem really strange to you, but it's a casual routine at my school. I take AP French, psychology, biology, history, trigonometry, and of course, choir - my absolute favorite class. I get graded on doing what I love! How amazing is that?

There isn't a dress code at my school (hooray!) and everyone can express themselves however they want to. There isn't a cafeteria, just a cafe place where you can buy a coffee or a bagel or something like that if you want to during the day. People usually bring a lunch and eat it either outside on campus, in the library, in the band room, or really anywhere. You're even allowed to go out to eat at a restaurant, as long as you come back to school when the period ends.

One of the best things about my school is the homework situation. I get less work in high school than I ever did in middle school! The most I have to do is study, but other than that, I don't really get anything at all. Which is GREAT for me since I can relax and spend time with my friends and family for the rest of my day instead of being cooped up for hours in my room like last year.

My school starts at 8:08 am, and classes end at 1:34 pm. However, I do have some form of "PE" (track & field, archery, or a sport - the activities switch every day) then, until 2:19. It's not really a class, and I actually enjoy it! Then at 2:19 I'm done for the day!

I told you guys, I RAMBLE! A LOT.

Ahaha! It is pretty awesome. It honestly doesn't feel like school at all; it just seems like a place I go to during the week to hang out and do what I love!
