Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Has anyone had

Has anyone had any weird dreams lately? I think I had this dream and some of you guys were in it. I can't remember the dream, though. That's what I get for sleeping so little.

I had a weird dream last night: I had a lot of luggage from my whole family. I left a big city hotel in a taxicab with all the luggage and several other passengers I didn't know. My family left the hotel walking to get our car. They were going to bring it back to the hotel to get me and all the luggage. But I was crammed into a taxi with all the bags and a bunch of other people traveling away from the hotel to who knows where. I finally got the taxi driver to stop and let me out. Then I had to struggle to pick up all the suitcases and bags and was just beginning to try to walk back to the hotel when I woke up in a sweat. I was so worried that I wouldn't get back to the hotel in time.

I'm still wondering what anxiety brought this on!

I had this really weird dream last night. I was at the library and I got this book and it was by Margaret Peterson Haddix, but in the dream I was confused because I knew she didn't have a book with the title that this book had (I don't remember what the book was called) and then I was at a place that I assume was supposed to be home, although it didn't look like my house. (this is just a side note: in most of my dreams I'm observing from an outside perspective, rather than observing from my own perspective) So anyway I was sitting on my bed reading and my older brother (I don't have an older brother; in the dream I just knew that this 18 year old boy was my brother) walked into the room. I knew somehow that he suffered from depression. He was holding a 3-subject spiral notebook, and he said that he had almost jumped off a building several times recently (over the past few months, I think) but then he didn't because of me. It was a strange dream, but it made more sense than my dreams usually do. I have no idea what it could have meant.

The tail end of last night's dream was a stress dream about my creative writing final.  I found that odd because I haven't been worried about it lately.  I remember dreaming me sitting on my kitchen counter trying to write a short story about baking and actually baking at the same time.  Then I remembered my final is supposed to be poetry and I tried arranging the story into a poem.  However, it just didn't flow like a poem and I was about to cry when I woke up.  Either that or I went to school and fixed the problem, but the classroom didn't look right.  I can't remember which parts went where.

The dream I had last night was very confusing. The few parts I could make any sense of would probably have been considered a nightmare by someone other than me. First I was in the orchestra room, and it was the day after the concert, as far as I could tell. We (that is, the seventh grade orchestra) were sitting in the orchestra room watching Despicable Me 2. Some things were different though. Then I had a flashback of sorts in the dream. In this "flashback" I was in the kitchen of my house, and...stuff happened. Painful stuff. Then I was back in the orchestra room and I was covered in blood (scars?) from the kitchen thing. At this point everyone started berating me for the scars and blood. Then I woke up.

I had an odd dream. My sister was pregnant and I was an aunt and the baby was named Fig.

In my dream, I was in my bedroom, but my bedspread was different. It was dark red, as were the walls of my room (or were they dark wood?) and my mom comes into my room and even though it's dark I can see her perfectly. She took my iPod from the stack of magazines on the shelf next to my bed (even though that isn't where I put it) and then I was yelling at her. Then I was in another room of my house that basically looked like the living room at my friend's house and this girl from my school, Brooke, was sitting on the floor reading, and for some reason I thought she was my sister.

I had a dream where Sandor Clegane from A Song of Ice and Fire adopted a bunch of little homeless kids. Even in my dream, it didn't make any sense.

I had a dream last night that I was in this place with some other people and we all had these rings that gave us magical powers.  I could control water.  I was so powerful I could literally make it rain.  But this bad dude kept trying to steal the ring from me.  I tried switching it with my friend's, but then I wanted it back.  Then I started doing this pumpkin scavenger hunt around the place with my section leader in band so I could not lose the ring.

I died. Again. I don't remember how, but just that it was a real death. Not something ridiculous. And I was scared. Really, really, really scared. I was laying on the floor somewhere, crying. I was absolutely terrified.

Why do I keep dying?!

I'm not sure if I had any dreams last night, or if it's just part of the story I'm writing. I had a strange dream a few nights ago in which I was with my dad and my siblings and we were going to the store but as we were walking into the store I saw this girl from my school (Logan) and I stopped to talk to her (even though I'm not really friends with her) and all of a sudden she and I were in a pizza kitchen and some kids from orchestra were there. The only ones who I know for sure were there were Julia and Parker, but Jack and/or Anthony may have been there as well.

I'VE BEEN WRITING LIKE 1000 WORDS A DAY FOR THE PAST THREE DAYS THIS IS GREAT MY WORD COUNT IS LIKE 4000.

I dreamed I took a Latin class, except... it wasn't for Latin that actually existed when people were speaking Latin, or Latin that could be really useful for non-time travellers. It taught how to say certain specific things in Latin that have only come into English relatively recently--or how people in Latin would talk about these things if anyone was still speaking Latin. Specifically... fandomspeak.

I think the logic that whoever created the class must have used was, "People who want to take Latin must be huge nerds, so let's teach them how to say things that nerds actually care about." So naturally, I thought it was an awesome idea and signed up as soon as I could, even though it could not really be useful to me in any context. It was... really fun. I don't remember it very well, and I actually think I woke up before we learned much, but it was seriously awesome. I'm sure we would have had to learn quite a bit of regular Latin before it would work, though. There would be a lot of discussion of the mechanics of how languages evolve, and we'd probably get to talk about how certain terms arose in the first place in order to figure out their Latin equivalents. And we could get homework assignments to translate fanlore articles and meta and it would be the best.

THAT IS VERY AMAZING AND YOU ARE VERY LUCKY.

I can't tell if I've had any dreams lately, or if it's just things that happened to the characters in the story I'm writing. (6335!!!)

I had two dreams that I can remember. I was in my kitchen with bad lighting (and I think I may have been Sansa Stark from A Song of Ice and Fire?) and supposedly these two royal people were coming to get married in my family room. While everybody set up for the wedding in the family room, these butterfly collectors noticed that there were a lot of butterflies in the kitchen. I had caught a blue morpho (that was the name, but it didn't look at all like a blue morpho) and let it go, but because morphos are supposedly really rare (I don't think they're that rare) I had to catch one for them again. Oh, and a weird Chinese soothsayer lady read my future. I can't remember what she said.

The second dream was an adult novel. The main character was some young-ish adult guy who met this lady on the street that he started to get to know. The woman had a daughter named Alice and ever so often Alice would become confused or something like that and she and her mother would dissappear. I don't think the mother or Alice existed. They might have been ghosts.

I had an odd dream last night. Basically, I was in language arts class, and it was loud and everyone was talking and cursing each other out and then my language arts teacher yelled at them all to SHUT THE [EXPLETIVE] UP and then...I don't know. We were reading The Egypt Game, I think. It was strange, but oddly similar to how language arts class was yesterday.

This is a Doctor Who related dream:

You know how there was Jenny,  the Doctor’s daughter? Well I had a dream
that the 11th Doctor and River Song had a kid. And it was a girl
they named Ella.

My dream took me several years into Ella’s life, maybe she
was… 10? 11? And she lives a miserable life. Her parents don’t care about her
whatsoever, and she hardly ever sees them. She lives in a huge white house on
the outskirts of a forest, with two nannies: Carrie and Susan. She goes to
school like all normal kids, but she’s always the shy, left out kid.

I suppose I should describe her. She has red hair that is
very straight with bangs, and it’s exactly like Violet’s hair in the
Incredibles, (falling down the side of her face). Her face shape and nose is
like her dad’s, but her eyes are big and round.  Her expression is always droopy, and she never
smiles. Compared to her regal looking parents, she’s more small and less
pretty.

So, in my dream, she was at school, and she saw a group of
geeky kids. And she asked them, “Do you want to hang out?” They all suddenly
looked awkward, and started making excuses about doing ”other things” and they
all ran off. But even though Ella didn’t make any friends, she did receive a
magical item from each person she met. But one day, she realized that she had
an item from a boy she hadn’t met yet.

So, naturally, the Doctor wants to get involved and see what’s
up with time here. So, he takes her aboard the TARDIS, and starts skipping
around pulling levers and whatnot. But he never looks at her because he feels
it’s awkward to look at her since she’s his daughter. (Which is totally
believable, coming from 11. That is just so him.)

And, then I woke up. But I continued her story in my
notebook, in which she plays with the faeries in the woods.
