THE ASK ADMIN
THE ASK ADMIN THREAD!!!!!!
Ok, so there are tons of threads made to ask Admin a particular question. I thought: why doesn't someone just make ONE thread for ALL the questions? So, here it is!
My first question: Can't the Admins make some sort of search thing inside this website so that we can look for a certain thread? Because I was going to revive several, and they got stuck somewhere between the page they were on and the first page. I don't really feel like looking through all the pages again...
=^..^=
Our Webmaster knows that a Search function has been requested, but we are a small staff with many other things to do to publish all our magazines and maintain all our Web sites. It's unlikely we'll get to a Search engine anytime soon, if ever. I think a few years ago a Chatterboxer figured out how to search via Google with Cricket Chatterbox plus a specific theme in the search field. I don't know if that would still work now because there are many more threads on Chatterbox, and many with similar themes, that there were two years ago. I'm sorry we can't be more encouraging about this.

I'm considering entering Nano next year. I have a few questions, is there a "theme" per contest, do other people start writing before November, and how do you win? What is it all about? I'm REALLY anxious to know! I love writing and this would be a great challenge! Thanks!

November- or National Novel Writing Month. One of the others can explain it better than me.
And a word of advice: Never, ever, agree to help a kid walk $280 worth of See's Candies home. Even if it is only ten minutes away. My back is very sore.

@ Sakura C: Oh, thank you! I'll be sure to remember that.
@ Ivy: Thank you too! My friend has talked about that, but I've never known what it was called. I TOTALLY want to try!

How do you decide who wins a contest?
In judging Cricket League contests we consider the quality of the work, how well it develops the theme of the contest, and originality. We also take the age of the writer or artist into consideration. We get so many great entries that sometime it's really hard to decide which ones are better than others. We consider each person who has done his/her best in creating an entry a winner.

Somebody asked a question and you answered similar to the answer I would like to receive but how do you become an Admin?
Well, we all first got jobs at Cricket in the editorial department. To accomplish that, we went to college, and we all love reading good literature and are familiar with children's literature.

I entered for the September 2012 poetry contest, and got an honorable mention, but it wasn't in the magazine or on the website. Do you know why that is?
Send me your last name, True, in a reply to this comment. I won't post it, but I'll be able to look up your record and try to figure out what happened. I do think I remember your first name being in Cricket League sometime, but am not finding it in September/January. OR, better yet, send an email to: cricket@cricketmagkids.com with Cricket League in the subject line. It will be easier for us to figure it out that way.

Okay. . . this ask admin thing. . . I had a question. . . if I wanted to start a thread about comics would I go to Chirp at Cricket (chirp chirp) Inkwell, Puddings Place, Down to Earth, or Blab about Books (for there are some books and authors I would need to mention.)
I'm hoping that this will help get my question answered.
If you intend to discuss features of various comics, I would suggest Blab About Books. If you just mean the Cricket comics, then I'd go to Chirp at Cricket. If it's about writing and drawing comics, then Inkwell. We're usually not really strict about what goes where and realize that many threads will include a variety of comments that may pertain to more than one of the sections of Chatterbox.

There was a thread about webcomics not long ago... I put it in Pudding's Place because that's where all the drawing stuff migrates to and... yeah.
Yava says kpcb. Keep the CB, yes.

I posted a thread about my book I'm writing about The Lemming War. I saw it on the front page once or twice and then it dissapeared. It's not on the last page, or the second to last either. Could you maybe find it? Or if not, at least tell me what happened to it?
Admin: You found this, right? I see you posted in it yesterday. http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/chirpatcricket/node/110279

Hi Admins. Where should I post a thread about weird but true state laws? Should it go in DtE?
Thanks, Violet (wishing myself across the world)
Admin: That sounds grrreat to me!

Thanks Admin!
Admin: YW!

Why do comments show up in duplicate sometimes?
Admin: The Chatterbox has mysterious ways . . . maybe it happens when Jupiter is in alignment with Mercury? Or maybe it happens when two admins post at the same time? I'm really not sure.

On my "weird but true state laws" thread, on the home page where the link is, it say the are eight replies. But, when I go to the thread, it shows only four. Why? Did you delete four?
Thanks, Violet

Admin: Not to my knowledge! Maybe they haven't made it through the queue yet?

They're posted now. I have a question. I have drawings of my characters, and I want to show everyone on here, but how would I put them into my post?
Thanks, Violet
