@Poinsettia - i'd love for Arum and Kaspar to interact! they're so cute together <3

|Pangolin's greeting the guests as they enter the ballroom, and as much as I'd love to be over there in the midst of things, meeting new AEs and chatting, Nix and I have unfortunately been tasked with setting cold beverages out on the banquet table. There's classic holiday drinks eggnog and sparkling cider, as well as regular stuff like soda and juice.

"Is Arum here?" I hear somebody say, and my head whips around and my face unconsciously breaks into a grin--there, standing near Pangolin at the entrance to the ballroom is Kaspar. It feels like it's been so long since I last saw him.

"Go ahead," Nix says, smirking, and takes the last bottle of sparkling cider from my hands. "I'll finish up the rest." 

"Are you sure--?" I ask, but to be honest, I've already started towards Kaspar. Nix just laughs and gestures for me to shoo. 

I practically skip over to Kaspar—his hair is slightly tousled, and he’s wearing a nice button-down that makes him look, frankly, even more adorable than usual. “Kaspar! Hi! Happy holidays!” I call as I approach him. “I feel like I haven’t seen you in forever! What’s up?”

reserving! well reserving, assuming it's okay if i do ocs bc i don't have aes (it was last year). that being said my ocs are basically aes, just they live outside of the cb more. i want to make though...

|"-It's great to see you,-" Lyra echoes, a smile lighting her up like the sun. I'd forgotten how she did that. "-How have you been? What have you been up to?-"|

|"I've been all right," I say, with an answering smile. "Not up to much - I've mostly been getting used to having new AEs around the place. It's been interesting." I look down at the table, where she just set down some caramel drizzle. "Is that for the hot chocolate? You have wonderful taste. Anyway, how've you been?"|

\As if in response to my question, I hear a familiar voice. "|Kaspar! Hi! Happy holidays! I feel like I haven't seen you in forever! What's up?"| And there's Arum, practically skipping toward me. She's wearing a leather jacket, a red turtleneck and a black skirt and boots, with a gold pendant and earrings, and she looks beautiful. I'm so glad to see her again.

"Hi!" I reply, a huge smile taking over my face. "It's good to see you! How've you been?"\

Oriole

I wander around the room, looking at all the delicious treats and beautiful decorations. There are cookies and peppermint bark lying on the table, and I take a chocolate-peppermint cookie and pop it into my mouth. It's perfect. But it leaves me a bit thirsty, so I turn to the beverages. I consider the soda and juice, but in the end, nothing beats sparkling cider, so I take a sip of that.

Refreshing myself with delicious cider, I survey the scene and consider. The snow outside the ballroom looks tempting, but then, dancing is always fun too. Which option should I choose...?

~Lorelai~

~Since Cleo has yet again left us behind, I decide to stop following her around like a puppy. Instead, I focus on the magnificent ballroom decked with strings of lights and menorahs and christmas trees and kinaras. pangolin, Nix, Vanadium, and Arum have really outdone themselves this year. Keela is trailing behind me as I check out all the fun things we could do. Not like there's any "we", though. I don't know anyone here, and I'm really not in a rush to talk with Cleo when she's in one of her more vicious moods. I sidle up to Alde and pause, asking myself if it seems random if I just say hi. I swallow the nerves building up at the back of my throat and tap his shoulder. He turns around, his soulful chocolate brown eyes meeting my forest green ones. Gosh, he's cute, his dark hair framing his face. 

"Hey," I say in a voice softer than what I intended.~

Oh dear, here goes Alde, breaking hearts... @festive_mango, I'm so sorry that I didn't reply to your comment about the AE shipping sooner. I'm not quite sure that my AEs would really click with yours? Eri is already shipped, ofc, and Alde is about 17 (since you said that Lorelai preferred guys around 15...) It would be great for Aldebaran and Lorelai to talk, though! :D

And @all, Agate can be talking to anyone :)

{I greet pangolin and turn to look around the ballroom; who knows, maybe I can make some friends. Origami scampers off somewhere, probably to commune with her fellow captchas, and I let her go and drink in the holiday cheer that's festooned around the room almost as visibly as the icicle-blue tablecloths and the cheery decorations and the banquet tables.}

{"Hey," a voice murmurs behind me, and I turn around. It's a girl, with soft brown hair pulled back into a bun and an elaborate red dress that somehow matches her general style perfectly. She's about my height, so our gazes meet; she has stunningly green eyes, and I find myself smiling into them.}

{"Hi," I reply. "Aldebaran here. I don't think I remember seeing you around before - my loss, by the way."}

|"Thank you,-" Lyra says. "-You should try it. It's pretty good, especially since you can customize it to your preference.-" She picks up a cup of hot chocolate and holds it out to me, and I take it with a quick smile of thanks. "-I've been well,-" she adds. "-A bit bored, though with nothing to do. What about you?-"|

|"Way better ever since I stepped into this room," I say truthfully, taking a sip of the hot chocolate (well caramel-drizzled, of course). "It's great to see you again. Whoa, this stuff is good." I pick up another cup and gesture to her. "Want some?" I'm considering the space cleared for dancing, but I should probably finish the chocolate before I invite Lyra there.|

*I can't believe that this is my first party. The other AEs drift away in various directions - I catch sight of Eri talking to Lyra, and Aldebaran starting to talk to a girl (!!), who looks nice, though I don't recognize her. (To be truthful, I don't really recognize anyone...) I walk over to an AE standing nearby. "Hi!" I say. "Do you think there's any chance the dancing's going to start soon?"*

-Lyra-

-"|Way better ever since I stepped into this room,|"" he says, taking a sip. "|It's great to see you again. Whoa, this stuff is good. Want some?|" He offers me a cup.-

-I gratefully take it and reply, "Thank you!" I drink it. It's warm and good, with plenty of caramel flavor. After a few moments, we both finish the hot chocolate. I glance around the ballroom, noticing the dance floor. "Do you...want to dance?" I ask hesitantly, despite knowing my dancing skills were barely existent.-
