My school has one in less than a month. The winner gets to go into the district bee. I'm entering it, and I'm really nervous. I've been studying, and I really, REALLY want to do  well, possibly win, and I've been studying a lot, but...

I entered one in 4th grade, and I was so nervous, I accidentally spelled 'college' 'colledge.' Last year, I tried again, and I won, but, in the district competition, I was nervous again and spelled 'anchovy' 'anchovie.'

I really don't want something like that to happen again... Does anyone have any advice?

On a different note, has anyone else ever been in a spelling bee before?

Yay for you! :) :) Now you have to tell me all about it. I'm thinking about entering one soon. I've never entered one before and am trying to decide if I want to go or not.

@ Summer: You really should enter. It's really fun! I've heard it differs wherever you go, but there really isn't that much to tell. People give you words, and you spell them, and, for some reason, it's really nereve-wracking—but still enjoyable! I should really stop overusing the word 'really'...

But you should enter. You only have a few more years left to get the chance. If you really want info, google, "spelling bee," and click on the 1st 2 sites. They're quite informative.
