Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

Suggestion Box

Suggestion Box

Hey, kids,
The Cricket Web site has been up for several months now, and everybuggy would like to know what you think about it. What do you like best about the site? Do you have any suggestions for making it better? How do you think the Web site rates on a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being the best)? Do you like the different areas of the Chatterbox? How do you think the Chatterbox rates compared to the Letterbox printed in the magazine? Do you like the online contests and Cricket Readers Recommend? Do you think kids new to Cricket would like the Web site?

Thanks for your ideas!

Love,
Everybuggy

Very true. I post stuff from time to time and I never know what happens to it. How many comments? Has anyone replied to my comments? etc., etc.....

Scale of 1-10: prob'ly 8.

Suggestions: Faster comment/thread moderation, mostly. I mean, maybe I've been spoiled by the four GAPA over on MB, but still, having to wait hours and hours to read what people say seems a little... eh... you know? Also, a fixed order for threads (newest first, oldest last, for instance) because it keeps changing and I rarely know where anything is, that sort of thing. Oh, and there's still some errors and bugs running around, might want to fix those.

Different areas: Well, we need more. That's all, because *counts* six isn't enough, it's too broad. ;) I would suggest something like the MB "Welcome Neophytes" section, as a place for introductions or something.

Chatterbox vs. Letterbox: couldn't tell you. My last issue of Cricket was like three years ago.

Online contests/Cricket recommended: Never looked into 'em.

New to Cricket: Like I said, I don't like the way threads are laid out, at all. The order shifts constantly and in order to read new comments you basically have to wade through an entire thread, over and over and over. It's confusing, and not as easy to jump into.

Really? I posted a comment about three hours ago and it hasn't shown up yet (although not on this). And why do so many people use bad grammar?

It's only quick sometimes, such something I said an hour 1/2 is already here!  What do you mean "bad grammar"?  Was I using it?

No, Paige. We don't recall your using bad grammar. Admin just means if somebody does use it.

I just started going on the Chatterbox yesterday and I think that's It's DEFINITELY a 10!!!!!!!! I really, really, like it cuz I always like the Letterbox in the magazine, but it's hard to get to know people through snail mail. I still think that you keep up the Letterbox, too!!!! I LOVE the Down to Earth section and I also like Chirp at Cricket! :) I think that kids new to Cricket will LOVE the chatterbox! :D I didn't know about the onine contests but I will be SURE to check them out soon! I really think that that the Chatterbox is a HUGE success! I am very excited to make new friends on it. I can't decide what I like best about the Cricket Chatterbox cuz it's all AMAZING! Plzzz keep up the good work!!!!

your fan,

Mariah B

Oh!  Oh!  Idea!  Because everything is so mixed up and, as TNO says, "you have to wade through it" to get what you want, why not a search engine?  You can just type in a keyword and any post that is relevant pops up!  That would be soooooo cool!!!

Yes! Something like that on, say, the Chatterbox homepage would be very helpful.

Well, TNO and BellaTrix make perfect sense. I just got on the Chatterbox, and it was quite overwhelming. I think it's neat idea though. I also think that Cricket should create a special new buggy for the website. Then kids could vote on a name. I would rate it 9.9. (Mainly 'cause nine is my favorite number.) P.S. One question: why is the date and time messed up on the submitted text?

Maddie, I have no idea why the date and time are mixed up. Maybe our Webmaster will be able to fix it or tell us why.
