Geocaching!
Does anyone else here geocache? If you don't, you should totally start.
It goes like this: Someone hides a container somewhere, with a logbook and some items, or swag, in it. They then post the name of the geocache and its latitude and longitude online, along with a hint. You have to go and find it. When you find it, you write your geocaching nickname, or handle, in the logbook. If you want, you can take some swag and replace it with new stuff. Be fair! You then post a log online, saying that you found it, or didn't, or it wasn't there, etc. You can also use what people posted in the logs previously to help you find it.
You get to see new places and stuff, and it gets you outside and off the screen, ha ha.

I have! I've never hidden one, but I've found a few. Usually the geocache app that my dad and my uncle have is off by about 20 feet, so it can be really hard to find things, but it's still fun.

Top! Turquoise says pyze. I guess she wants dessert.

I LOVE geochaching! I rather doing it with compasses though, because every GPS that I have ever used turned me the wrong way. xD it is so fun!

You only use a compass?! Wow. I use the app! How many have you found?

Yuussssss I love Geocaching! We have a whole GPS for it and everything! Have you also tried the rock one? I can't remember what it's called. But essentially, people paint rocks and hide them in fairly obvious places. You pick it up and move it elsewhere (or keep it, I can't remember the rules). It's awesome! We found one at an animal sanctuary once. Oh, and metal detecting too! I know that's a bit different, but still, you are searching for treasure. Soooo many memories.

Where I am, the painted rock thing is really big. Its really fun.
Medal detecting sounds fun too.

Yes, that's where we found the rock! I had no idea it was a super big thing until recently. Apparently city peeps like painting rocks xD (although I really want to do it too, which must make me a city nerd)
Yes, metal detecting is quite fun! We once found an entire old fire truck toy buried at an abandoned and collapsed house about 4 feet in the ground. I still have it somewhere...

Cheers! Tell us how it went, will you?

It was super fun! I'd never been geocaching before, so this was a completely new experience for me. I did it at my local Arboretum, so basically a huge woods/garden/prairie/lake. I got to see a whole side of the Arboretum I'd never seen before! At one point, my mom and I had to go through a construction site... because they'd been doing an addition but hadn't marked it on their map! (The Arboretum did a private geocaching class and then gave us the coordinates.) We got some pretty stange looks from the people around us... as we walked through a constuction site then into a grove of trees that was waaaay off path... it was so cool though! We really want to go back!

Ideaaaa for everyone!
Okay, so I was thinking... in Geocaching there are often little clans. These clans (families, friends, etc. of geocachers) create little plastic tokens with their logo/clan name, state, etc. So what if we all created our own geocaching clan? If we don't want to include location (being that is typically personal and we all are in different states), we could just create a clan name, or "The CB Family" or something. Then we could all gather small items (clans typically use erasers, plastic coins, pieces of wood, etc.) and write or print off the logo/title. Then our clan can be all over the world! Wouldn't it also be funny if we found one another's clan items somewhere? :O
So yep, that's my idea! What do you all think? We could even create a logo and screenshot it, then vote for the best one (or use all of them) or something. I think it'd be pretty neat!

Okay...so what if we did something like this? I tried to get as close as possible to the colors of the CB. I was picturing something like this with a black Cricket in the center, but I couldn't figure out how to put a Cricket on it. If anyone has any ideas or software they could use to do that, feel free to screen shot this base and add any changes you'd like to see. Just make sure you give me credit for the base.

I love geocaching! My family hasn't gone in a while, but we have found quite a few. I live near some college campuses and there tend to be many on campus (very well hidden). I prefer doing it in the forest though, more of a mystique to it. I think I still have my bag of stuff I got and stuff I planned to put in the boxes.

I've never done Geocaching, but it sounds super cool and fun from what you guys are saying! And @Ashlee, that is such a good idea! That would be so fun, to find something that some CBer hid!

That would be so fun! I've heard of Geocaching, but never done it. Ashlee, that sounds fun! If we did it, what would our logo have on it? It could be in CB colors. What do y'all think?
Whirlwind and Shaddow bolth said "rook". The're haveing a great game!
