CB Name Explanations

CB Name Explanations Reboot!

I think we've had a few of these before, so credits to whoever first thought of it. I've found myself wondering about many people's CB names, so feel free to ask about anyone's name, and explain your own! You can also add pronunciation, because I know we've had threads about that too.

Personally, I love the name GreenMango (or simply Mango)! It's a fresh, simple name, and still translates to "Mango" in Spanish. Uhh... that last part was totally random, but I like it when I can translate over a name properly. Anywho, it's up to you of course, but I love the name!

My name is pretty random. When I first joined, I saw Leafpool and Leafmist and Leeli and Scylla and Forrest and Moonlight and Starseeker, and I thought, Wow! Those are really creative and cool names! After a lot of thinking, I came up with Pepper Star because I liked both the words and their meanings, and the way they sounded together.

So yeah, nothing exciting. But I believe that somebody- Stella, maybe?- asked me if I had had the idea a of a condiment supernova when I chose my name. I didn't, but I like that too. :)

@Scylla--I've always pronounced it Scylla! For a long time, though, I didn't realize your name was from Greek mythology. Even though you had an Æ named Charybidis. When I read PJO, though, I realized it. It was like a smack in the face--OH! HOW DID I NOT NOTICE THAT BEFORE???? (Like when I realized that Kreatcher from HP is a "creature"--I always pronounced it as creature, but it never struck me as odd. Then one day I was reading the 5th book for the 6th time (I know, I'm ridiculous. I had nothing else to read!) I read his name, and then I stopped, and then I made an odd noise. (And then I made an odd face, and then I banged my head on my bed.)

@Bluebird:

you mentioned that my name doesn't have anything to do with space, and that's not entirely true. I do really love stars and space and all that jazz, and I've always wanted to know as much as I an about them-- hence "Star Seeker".

@Pepper Star:

yay, thanks! I'm glad you think my name is creative!

So, my name is kinda obvious. I like to twirl/dance, and I'm a girl! Voìla! I'm considring a name change though. Does anyone have any good ideas? Maybe TealTwirler, because I love the color blue/turquoise/teal... Does anyone have any suggestion for a girl that likes to dance, sing, act, read, and make people laugh? ;)!

My story is pretty boring, compared to those, haha. I had been reading Cricket for about a month, and LOVE the super creative names I saw at the Letterbox (Owlgirl, Starseeker, Scylla, St.Owl, etc. ;)), and knew I didn't want to go under my own name, like others (Lucy B., for example ;)). For a post or two, I posted under my Kyngdom name, Trill W. (Woodhena), but I didn't like that. At the time, I was crazy obsessed with Warriors by Erin Hunter, and I was also obsessed with writng. (Still am!) I spent a whole night awake in bed, thinking up names, like Bloodmoon (used it on Kyngdom for a VERY brief time), and Tailpot (just why...), but I finally settled on Inktail, playing off of the Inkwell. Like an Inkwell (Ink), but like the tail was the quill (tail)! Get it? I thought I was clever at the time ;)

Also, Trill W.? Don't ask. XD I don't even know.

When I first joined my name was Kate Wetherall or Kate W. Because She was my favorite character. (Still is) She so similar to me, and awesome! I got tired of the name after a while, and after reading a book about a boy named Nate the Great, I changed my name to Kate-the-Great. And it's stuck for three years!

Oh! My Dad LOVES Nate the Great! ( Probably for a very good reason, as it has something to do with his name...:)) As do I. They are so funny sometimes. :) Very clever how you changed the Nate with Kate.  Also, the name Kate Wetherall is from a book, right? It sounds familiar...

The Mysterious Benedict Society? If I'm wrong, just ignore me...

But I always imagined you as looking like Kate from those books, and whenever I looked at you name, I couldn't help but think of that series!

I always thought it was because Kate liked/wanted to be called Kate the Great Weather Machine.
