My beloved, much

My beloved, much loved, 7th Harry Potter book broke. Broken beyond no repair. Please join me in a moment of slience to mourn my book. ...

The spine fell off and chunks are coming out. It pains me so much to see a Harry Potter book like this. Really, any book. Okay, maybe not Twilight. But I don't want to throw it away, so I need ideas on how to reuse the pages, etc. I already have four coasters made out of Harry Potter pages, so I need more ideas... Anyone have some?

Ewys says fgdg. I do love fudge. Especially Mrs. Weasley's fudge!

Aw, poor book! *sighs* It will be dearly missed.

Last year, a few friends and I built a birdhouse and wallpapered the whole thing with book pages. It looked really cool!

That's a good idea! Sounds really cool. Did the birds like it? Unfortunatly, birdhouses tend to get destroyed by the vicious birds in my community.  I'm not allowed to wallpaper my room and I don't have a tree house. Maybe a small section above my bookshelf can be wallpapered? Or maybe a wallpapered bookshelf.

A moment of silence for the book that contributed its pages to Abi's birdhouse...

Use as wrapping paper for gifts to friends that like Harry Potter, maybe. Cut into strips and make bookmarks. Make a mini book out of 1 or 2 pages cut into squares and put in their order, then staple, then you can make a few from different pages and use them as party favours or for your stuffed animals to "read" if you still play with stuffies.

Hmm. That's a good idea. To wrap a present, though, I'd have to layer the pages. Maybe a small present... As for the bookmarks, I really like that idea.  Maybe I can figure out how to combine a strip of old jean fabric and a peice of Harry Potter book so i don't have to layer up the pages. As for stuffed animals... hm. I still have a lot. I don't play with them anymore, but maybe as decoration? Thanks, those are cool ideas.

Nooo... Poor Harry Potter book. *Quietly sobs in a corner* I hate seeing books thrown away or broken. But a coaster? That is really neat! Are they easy to make?

*Mourns the Harry Potter book and all the other ruined books in the world*

Maybe use it as a shadow box with the covers and a few pages? Or take some of your favorite pages/lines and cut them out as a frame? Sorry, odd ideas! QD

Hmm. So clarification. I wrote that in a confusing way. I actually didn't make my own coasters (though I realized I wanted more and now I'm going to make some more). I bought them from a convention with a lot of nerdy stuff. But basically you take a page and glue it to a small square tile and add a soft backing to it (again with glue). To make the coaster glossy and water resistant, you have to put some sort of modge podge like thing that I'll have to look up. I actually did see some picture frames with Harry Potter pages in them, and I was tempted to buy some. Now that you suggested it, I might make it though. I actually had to look up what a shadow box was, but it looks cool, and so I'll try to make one (I don't know if I'll have enough space for it though, *sobs*).

*Moment of mourning for all the other lost books*

That is so sad! Do you need a decoration for your room? You could put the pages on a large piece of paper with any interesting things you have around. Or you could glue them to a box or container of some sort for a trash bin.

Great idea! And now I wish I didn't already have so many posters and paintings in my room so I could add more without it looking cluttered. I'll probably do that if I ever get rid of some of them and I still have more pages.

*moment of silence for GreenMango's book*

First of all, I am glad to see this- "Ok, maybe not Twilight."

Second, ideas. Do you have access to a pin maker machine? If so, making pins is always fun. Or you could get some clear craft glue and paint the pages onto a glass mason jar, as a little lamp or whatever.

XD. I am always willing to share my opinion on the Twilight series and defend it if need be! Hmm. No pin machine. Maybe I can find a way to make pins anyways? Must. Have. Harry. Potter. Pins. Harry Potter jar! Yes!! I will make that. Just need to find a spare jar.

*Nods knowingly* My books used to be my mom's, and some of them... are no more.

Anyway, if you cut them in to strips, you can make bows, like the kind you see at Christmas. I would look up how to do it because I can't really explain online.

*Moment of silence to mourn those books that used to belong to Pepper Star's mom.*

I will also try to do that. Book seven is very big, so I'll be able to do all of these (probably)!

I've always been fond of making origami with paper that has words on it.
