Ok, now I personally hate internet speak/slang (whatever), but I need to know the meanings of some stuff, 'cause half the time I can't understand any of you. :)
Some of the stuff I already know:
lol: laugh out loud (and I know it can have add-ons, like rolling of the floor, or whatever)

I know what you're talking about, Emily. My little brother used to play that. I play MS, so I'm forced to know all of this text talk (like Emily said, if you play "MS", you'll know what that stands for, too ;D)

SOTMC: Shuffle Off This Mortal Coil
I s'pose I should put this down for those who don't watch Firefly or frequent TV tropes:
Shiny: good/ok/cool/etc.
Kick: to die
Shuffle: to die (as in, shuffle off this mortal coil)
'Verse: the universe, or, more broadly, the world.
Mook: characters (usually a lot of 'em) which exist solely for the purpose of fighting and dying for the Main Villain.
Heel Face Turn: when villains become good.
Face Heel Turn: when good guys go bad.
Moral Event Horizon: an action which forever places a character beyond redemption.
Big Bad: The Antagonist, the Villain, the Guy Who Makes the Hero's Life Miserable
tropes: tools of the trade for fiction.
Ear Worm: songs that are EASY to get stuck in your head (the Dr. Horrible songs, A Little Priest, and, lately (for me, anyway) all the villain songs from the OBCR of Little Mermaid. Especially I Want the Good Times Back, and Sweet Child... and SRS's Poor Unfortunate Soul...)
