LANGUAGES!

I am just curious... does anyone have a second language or a third language?

If so, I have a great idea!

If you know any language besides English, let's talk about random things on here but in your second language!

We would understand each other when you go on google and type in "google translate"

I speak English as my first language, Spanish as my second language, and a little bit of French as my third!

(I was born in Spain :D)

What about you guys?

I am fluent in English. I'm learning Spanish in school and Yiddish in my Jewish school. I know about eleven words in Chinese.

Wow, you all are so smart. I'm always amazed.

I only know the colors, numbers, a few foods, the alphabet, some verbs, and a few, um, insults in Spanish. We're learning it at school but it's not for a grade, so nobody really tries and we're stuck on the furniture section all semester. Oh, I do know the Our Father prayer in Spanish. That's it.

I know, like, two words in German. Tannenbaum and Weinerschnitzel (and I did not even come close to spelling either of them right, I know) My dad is trying to learn Italian, and I've picked up on a few words over time. I know the Italian music words, and can sometimes figure out what words mean because I know root words. For example, cane is dog in Italian which is relate to English canine. And dulce (candy) in Italian is related to Spanish dulces.

First language is English for me, with a decent bit of Spanish I know, and a little of Dutch (I forgot most if it by now). I also was learning Latin when I was younger, but I don't remember most of that either.

What service did you use to learn Hawaiian? Was it a website / course, or was it taught by a family member or instructor? I have been trying to learn Maori or Hawaiian for a long time and I've been unable to find any reliable places to do so.

I speak English, but my mom has been trying to teach me Latin for the past one and a half years.

It's rather painful.

*Groans*

Amo, amas, amat, amamus, amatis, amant.

I love, you love, he/she/it loves, we love, you pl. love, they love.

I can't think of any sentences in Latin right now, and I'm sure I could find some in my workbook, but I don't feel like getting up and walking across the house to get it.
