Things We Memorize
Things We Memorize
I was going over a poem to myself the other day and thought I'd create a post of all the things we memorize: poetry, passages from stories, songs, movie dialogue, anything. In order to save space, just say what it is you've memorized, not the passage itself.
Here's mine:
"All that is gold does not glitter" poem by J.R.R. Tolkien (I love this thing)
"The Jabberwock" by Lewis Carroll
Nearly all of the Two Towers trailer
The entire dialogue from The Many Adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh from when Pooh arrives at Rabbit's house to when Pooh flies out of the hole into the honey tree.
The Gettysburg Address by Abe Lincoln
That's all I can think of now. What do you recite to yourself (over and over and over)?

My mind works really weirdly, so I have a bunch of random stuff that's memorized just floating in there. Here's a few things I meant to memorize:
-The Preamble to the Constitution (done by memorizing the School House Rock song)
-the lyrics to "I Think You're Swell" by Matt Bennet
-the lyrics to "You Need Me, I Don't Need You" by Ed Sheeran
-"Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost (again in song. I sang it in chorus.)
-all of the lines the Ghost Host says on the Haunted Mansion ride
-The Little Mermaid Broadway soundtrack
-The Little Mermaid movie
-Dory's monologue from Finding Nemo (...Because when I'm with you, I remember...)
(January 9, 2014 - 9:17 pm)
"Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening" is one of my all time favorite poems! I memorized it once but have forgotten now.

My friends and I LOVE the movie Frozen, so we find ourselves singing some of the songs from it. Mostly we sing "In Summer" (sung by the adorably funny Olaf the snowman) and "Let it Go" (sung by Elsa). The songs are so catchy and some of the most awesome songs ever! I have them stuck in my head and find myself singing them every day. :)

I've memorized some things from Looking for Alaska, Paper Towns, Will Grayson Will Grayson, and The Fault in Our Stars

Me and my sisters, whenever we watch anything, be it show, movie, behind the scenes, interviews... etc... we memorize basically all of it even on the first watch, and then we'll just sit for hours running through the whole script, and quoting everything they said word-for-word.
Let's just say, it's runs in the family.

The Lady of Shalott
Twas the Night Before Christmas
Half of The Raven
Half of The Highwayman (I inetend to finish both sometime)
Jabberwocky
I memorized most of a chapter from Harry Potter one time, but I don't think I still have it memorized
Way to many songs to list.
Alot of quotes.
And alot of other random stuff. Including most of the lines from almost all the eoisodes of Merlin, and the movie Pride and Predjudice. When ever I rewatch them I say or mouth all the lines along with the people.
I can't think of anymore right now.

Also, the David Tennant and Catherine Tate skit. So funny.
(January 10, 2014 - 3:41 pm)
-Quite a few lines from THE PRINCESS BRIDE

*pukes at the mention of the Princess Bride
(January 10, 2014 - 9:24 pm)
Oh. Okay then. What didn't you like?
(January 11, 2014 - 9:34 am)
I love The Princess Bride!
Inconceivable! I do not think that word means what you think it means...
(January 18, 2014 - 11:48 pm)
