Yes, Monday, June 24. It will likely be just one Admin, because if two are on at once it gets confusing if we both try to post a comment at the same time.

1. I wouldn't even answer the door.
2. Rats are quite large. The area above our stove is quite small. I foresee a large fire.
3. Close the fridge door and pretend that never happened.
4. I actually have a lot to do, not just rescue random balloons. I'd also be freaked out that it recognised me so I would bring it down and interrogate it.
5. Run out of the house and continue running. And hop that it is only a dream like the ones I have almost every night.

But it's not a random balloon. It's a sentient balloon. Before that hypothetical moment, you probably did not think those existed. And it might be the only one! If it disappeared, it would die for real! And you'd lose such an amazing scientific discovery! And if anyone else could hear the balloon, then people would believe it, and you'd get rich from it!
...I'll be quiet now. I just think that not even trying to help it doesn't really make sense on any level.

Every item can be communicated with if you know how. Talking to balloons is easy. And if I tried to turn it into science, I myself would end up on display. I'd rather not.

Psh, of course you can talk to a balloon. The difference is that most balloons do not talk back.
(And I can't see any reason why you would end up on display, period, not that it really matters).
