Tiffany W.'s great idea of a Pottermore RP, where we are the students at Hogwarts using our results from Pottermore! So far we've got:
Name: Katie *invents a last name for convenience* Brown (not real, of course)
Age:13 (3rd year)
House: Hufflepuff
Wand: Elm with unicorn hair, 10 3/4 inches, unyielding
Pet: Natterjack toad named Klöner Hansel Ekel, Hansel for short
Blood status: I don't care, so I'll wait until everyone else has told theirs and see what we need more of, although if I'm pure-blood, I'll have to change my last name
Appearance: Long, dark brown hair with natural golden highlights, pale skin, hazel eyes, lots of bracelets, 4 brooches in the shapes of tardigrades (microscopic animals that can survive a lot of amazing things), a silver necklace with a charm in the shape of the letter "K", blue and bronze glasses (which don't really fit my Pottermore house, but I actually didn't get Ravenclaw colors on purpose)

Age: 11 or 12?
Year: First
House: Will be in Gryffindor
Wand: Sycamore, Unicorn hair,14 1/2, Unyielding.
Pet: Barn owl named Zell, or Elira
Blood Status: Muggle Born
Appearance: Long, straight, blond hair, blue/gray eyes, fair skin. 5'3". Usually wears her hair in a braid, or a headband.
Personality: A little shy, when you first meet her, but once you get to know her, pretty outgoing. Smiles and laughs alot.
Hobbies: Reading, writing, singing, dancing.

Appearance: Medium darkness brown hair that's streaked with gold in the light, brown eyes that are slowly turning green, average height, relatively tanned skin.
Personality: Loves acting odd, laughs a lot, gets angry and upset easily, shows it by being overly sarcastic. Loves to be correct in an argument and always has to prove her point. Likes reading for pleasure. Takes a while to make friends.
Pet: Screech owl named Uki (Couldn't resist the screech owl; they're so CUTE!)

Don't worry, Admin--the names we're given in Pottermore wouldn't work for character names even if we wanted to use them, because they aren't... well, names. They're WordWordNumber, and the words are like Newt or Glow or Lobo--not the sorts of things anyone would want to be named, even if they describe nice things.
Admin: I dunno, CharmShieldNewtMage283847 sounds like a great character name to me!

((@Ivy/whoever Katie Brown is: "Brown" is a canon pure-blood name, FYI (Lavender Brown is pure-blood if I recall correctly). You can be pure-blood without changing it if you want to.
Also I'm assuming you mean a self-insert RP. Do correct me if I'm wrong.))
Name: Terry Ryans (which, for anyone who's interested, is a corruption of my pottermore initials. Because... yes.)
Age: I suppose it'd have to be 11, yes?

Appearance: Long (shoulder-blades) light brown hair (ususally braided), blue/green, tall for her age (I believe I was 5'3"-5'4" at that age), pale, some freckles, rectangular black glasses.
Blood Status: pure-blood
Personality: Well... she's me? So... ranty, realist-tending-toward-cynic, obsessive... Prone to having Fridge Logic at the worst possible time... can field-strip an ETC Source Four Ellipisoidal inside of a minute...
((@Admin: CentarQuaffle19803713 is a wonderful name for a child, I think. In the unlikely event that I ever have children, that's what I'm going to name them. Yes, all of them. It will be CentaurQuaffle19803813, CentaurQuaffle19803813_1, CentaurQuaffle19803813_2... and then GoboGel24601 will be the baby of the family [and anyone who gets the joke will win the Internet]))

*is Katie Brown* You're right; I hadn't even thought of that. I don't like adding non-canon characters to canon families, so I would have used someone we know nothing about that doesn't fit me, but since we don't really know anything about any of the Browns, that would work. I don't have anything in common with Lavender, but of course members of families can differ from each other to a surprising degree...
Do we all have to be 11? I suppose it makes sense, since we all are in Pottermore. I imagine some of us might make somewhat unconvincing 11-year-olds, but I suppose it'll have to do.
If we are all 11, I think I'll actually change my name to match one of the first years from my house (Hufflepuff) who we don't know anything about, so that there won't be more first years than is realistic. The first one to come to mind is Rose Zeller. She'll do. We know of no other wizards with that last name, so she probably has a Muggle father. Her mother might be a witch or might not; I'll decide on that when everyone has decided what they are and I can see which is less common. Well... No, I change my mind about that. I would rather be Muggle-born; it's more fun to write that way.
I didn't even bother with my personality because I think most of you probably know me; I hope that's alright.

I have a huge interest in zoology (and did at 11, too), and I know that would certainly apply to magical creatures as well, so I should really get Fantastic Beasts from the library to use as a reference, as I unfortunately don't own it and know I'll need the information for some of the things I'd like to do...

I just saw that on the other thread, someone asked if we should start in Diagon Alley getting our wands. I'd rather start earlier, like when we first learned we we're magical--or, for the pure-bloods, half-bloods, and 15-year-olds, when you were dreaming/planning/thinking about what you'll do to prepare for Hogwarts. I know that I, at least, would really enjoy writing that scene. If no-one else wants to do that, then that's fine, but it's what I would prefer. What does everyone else think?

Also, I think that we don't nessesarily all have to be eleven, but not in the higher years but more around first through third year. What about the rest of you? I mean, we could technically do it with our actual ages.

Appearance: Average height, short brown hair. Bangs that get in my eyes an awful lot of the time. Spectacles. Round face, hazel eyes.
Personality: ...I'll assume you know me quite well enough to be getting on with, though I can write something up if it's really necessary.
I was wondering when we were going to put this in terms of canon chronology? Since it is with Pottermore, it might make sense if we were Harry's contemporaries, but I'd understand if you'd prefer not to do that. (Though Rose Zeller was sorted when Harry was in his fourth year.) (Does it seem really unlikely to anyone else that each house has five boys and five girls in each year? That's rather absurdly convenient.)

@ Emily: The 3rd year has decided to be in first year after all, because that'd be easier and more fun, and although she'd probably make a rather unrealistic 11-year-old, she doesn't imagine she could be much worse at it than TNÖ. I think you can be in 5th year if you want, though. I don't see how it would hurt, except that it might mean less interaction with the other characters--unless you decide to be related to one of them, or you're a prefect, or you're on the Quidditch team, or something like that. I think we could make it work, though, if we try.
Tiffany: Katie is my real name, but I do appear to be the only person who did that, and anyway, I changed to Rose Zeller, so never mind.

Oh, and by the way, my charrie has no relation to Penelope Clearwater, who has the same last name(NOT my real last name or username) . It was entirely coincidental.:P That sounds fine about starting when we get our letters. I just didn't want to start at Platform 9 3/4.
