In other words,

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

CB Author Interviews AKA Author of (every other) Day!
In other words,...

In other words, a way for us to flatter each other immensely.

A lot of big shot writers- and debut authors and Other Authors- get interviewed and those interviews sometimes make it to a publisher's website, fansite, YouTube, TV sometimes, etc. etc.

Well, now it's time for the authors of the ChatterBox to get star treatment!

Every other day, someone will get picked to be Interviewed. Fellow CBers will post 3 questions i.e. Why did you start to write? and then the Author of (every other) Day will answer them (for their alloted 2 days of CB Stardom!). And then after their 2 days are over, they'll choose someone else to interview (or they could let me choose since I have too much time on my hands... *hinthint*)! And repeat repeat repeat. This is a good way to get everyone prepped and ready for their future real-life author interviews. And it's also fun. And flattering.

Try to pick someone who posts frequently, since they only have two days to answer des questions. (an easy way to do this is to click "Last Reply" on the thread twice so you can see who posted recently_

Now lettuce begin!

Let's start with... (*searches Inkwell and BaB for frequent post'er*)

SC!

From the information that I can gather in a few seconds, the intelligent SC is a frequent post'er on RPS. She is currently a part of the Deaderlands RP (which she also started) in which she plays/writes as Peter Pan. She is also part of the RP started by the phenomenal ARPS which currently has no title. She writes as Juliet Butler in said RP. There is a countless number of other RPs and RRs which she is a part of and/or started.

She was a participant- and winner- of the 2011 NaNoWriMo. Her hobbies include the delicate and renowned art of Running Like a Maniac, playing the piano and chorus. The music she novels to includes: New Divide and Famous Last Words, and the music she listens to when she is not novel'ing includes Muse, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance and- occasionally- Greenday. She currently lives Somewhere In the Universe but also vacations to Narnia on occasion.

Her works include but are not limited to:

The Guardian Angiks of Demok High (a novel written for NaNoWriMo)

Endeyrory Pracea also known as Endey the Slayer in An Untitled Dragon RP (started by the amazing Tiffany W.)

Cartmer Tylara Animesti Tasbreeyard vika'Drom in New Character Lounge (which she also started)

Hephaestus in Mythology RP (started by the ever-so-smart Choco)

Nyx in Mythology RP

Shade Chase in Put-Your-Character-In-A-Room (started by the amazing Quintus) Shade Chase was also featured in another Character Lounge

Dante Rossi in Steampunk Fantasy Circus That Definitely Didn't Copy The Night Circus By Erin Morgenstern (started by yours truly)

Q&A Time!

(try a minimum of 3 for Maximum Flattering but more is always appreciated I'm sure)

Q: When did you start writing?

Q: Who is your favourite character that you have written? Including both original fiction and RP characters.

Q: Which character that you wrote would you say is most like you?

(sneaking in an extra few questions)

Q: Which character that you didn't write would you say is most like you?

Q: If you could write a story of your life, what would be the title?

And I probably stole half those questions from some interview or English worksheet. ;)

Now let the games begin!

(and if you were wondering, when I do my research, I do my research well) ;)

What is your favorite time of year to write?

Well... definately not summer. Summers are way to hot,you can't concentrate, too many mosquitos biting you. I would say Autumn. Right at the point where jeans and shortsleeves are what you need.

What is your favorite holiday?

I love thanksiving because it's at my favorite time of year, but I also love Christmas. I also really love Easter because the feeling of joy is very strong, especially at my church service.

Do you like carrots?

Yes!!!!!! I LOVE CARROTS. So technically the answer of the question is no,I do not just like carrots.

My friend, Mondo, is in love with carrots.  A girl in my class, Iyanla, (my school has strange names, right?) had a ginormous carrot and Mondo was literally chasing her around the classroom, trying to steal her carrot!  'Twas awfully funny.

I'll just repeat my questions too:

1. If you could go anywhere in the world (real-life or fictional) where would it be and why?

2. Where would be the only place you would never go (real-life or fictional)?

3. If you could have any character from any book show you around the town where he/she lives, who, where and why?

These are hard ones....

1. If you could go anywhere in the world (real-life or fictional) where would it be and why?

Denmark. Because it is so beautiful and I have heard a lot about it. Have you ever been to Denmark?

2. Where would be the only place you would never go (real-life or fictional)?

Um....I don't know?  Let's say the African jungle. Because the jungle is one place I would hate to camp in. So humid. (And I know about humidity.)  And filled with snakes, tigers, bloodsucking bats, poison dart frogs, poisonous spiders that are huge. I like mountains a lot better.

 3. If you could have any character from any book show you around the town where he/she lives who, where and why?

This is a hard one. But I think it would be Kale from the dragonkeepers series, because I would love to visit their towns, and plus, I love dragons.

1. What song are you listening to right now?  If you're not listening to music right now, what's the last song you remember listening to?

2. How awkward do you think awkward silences are, on a scale of 1-5?

3. If someone told you they hated reading, what book would you recommend to change their mind?

1. What song are you listening to right now?  If you're not listening to music right now, what's the last song you remember listening to?

*thinks* The last song I listened to was something by Switchfoot, but I don't remember the name.

2. How awkward do you think awkward silences are,on a scale of 1-5?

Really, they are not that awkward.

3. If someone told you they hated reading, what book would you recommend to change their mind?

I really don't know. Maybe the chronicles of narnia.

Since I am going out of town, the next AoEOD is...........HOLMES!

I think that Holmes's time is up,so who is the next AoEAD? Is that right?

submitted by True S.
(June 17, 2012 - 3:35 pm)

Yeah, I've been slacking off this thread. Sorry.

@True S.: Yes, you're right. Holmes was nominated on the 11th and it is now the 17th.

I'll be gone for four days- QUEBEC CITY- so we need 2 AoEODs. Preferably people WHO HAVE POSTED RECENTLY ON BaB AND POST OFTEN. Maple, could you choose the first one? And because people often go overtime, the second* AoEOD is... TRUE S. because he/she is very punctual. ;)

*If Maple's choice is not posted by Monday morning, then True S. will go first. Then the AoEOD True picks will go after Maple's choice. But if Maple's choice is still not posted by Wednesday morning, True's choice will go before Maple's.

I did not know about this thread while I was chosen, so can I answer all my questions now?

Where did you get the des for you name?

What's a des?

Has any of your writing ever been published?

I am serializing a novel in a youth magazine, so kind of.

Do you prefer writing boys or girls?

Definetly boys.  I don't think I've ever written anything where the main character is a girl (except things in my head I would get sued for because they infringe Harry Potter copyright and the New Syndeton RP.)

Who's your favorite character (that you own)

I like James from Elemental Magic.  He's based after my best friend and he's such a nerd.

1. What would you like to be, besides a human? (cat, dog, etc.)

Barn Owl.  No question.

2. Does your second-favorite character have siblings?

Ernest from this awful thing I wrote in third grade might be my second favorite character. He has (counts on fingers) eight siblings and three cousins that live with him, so yeah, I guess he has siblings.

3. What are your thoughts on penguins as characters?

I have never had a reason to use penguins in a book, although they might be good if you use them in the right way. Mr. Popper's Penguins convinced me on that last statement.

Have you read Sherlock Holmes?

Of course I've read Sherlock Holmes.  I have not read all of them, however, and I have not read A Study in Scarlet or The Sign of Four, and my ignorance of them is bugging me to no end.

Do you give your characters birhtdays?

Sometimes I give my characters birhtdays.  But not always.  I normally just get a sense of what time of year they're born.  Some times the month, but very rarely the actual date.

Do you believe that spam boxes will one day rule the world?

I do not believe in technology taking over the world, so the answer would be no.  It is the same way with e-books taking over real books.  That just seems impossible.

Do you love chocolate?

In the style of Psuedonymous Bosch, yes, I am very fond of chocolate.

1. Are you a fan of Sherlock HOLMES?

*SARCASM ALLERT* I positively hate Sherlock Holmes.  He annoys me greatly.

2. Is Holmes your actual name or copied or thought up?

I invented the name Holmes all by myself, with no help from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.  (Of course I got it from the books!  What do you think I am, a genius?)  For the record, my real name is not Holmes, although I like people to call me such.

3. Who is your favorite singer?

Difficult question.  I am more of a classical person, but I really like the Beatles.

4. If you could visit Narnia for a day, who would you talk to, Aslan or the White Witch?

The White Witch hands down.  I was her in a play once, so I am kind of a traitor to Narnians.  Do not judge me, I just like to play evil people.

5. Do you believe that there is life on any planet or galaxy other than ours?

I believe that there are little worms living under the surface of Mars that will come to Earth via a conveyor belt and live in a crater in Africa, where the footblobs grow.  That sentence was heavily influenced by The Book of HOW called Giraffes? Giraffes! and The Worms of Kukumlima by Daniel Pinkwater.
