Novel Characters
This thread is...
This thread is to talk about your favorite book characters. Go ahead and dish which one, and why and which book. My favorite is Emily Starr from The Emily Trillogy by L.M.Montgomery. She is the only character I know of who wants to be a writer when she grows up. Like me!

Let's see.....
1. Luna from HP
2. Mendanbar, Morwen, and Trouble from Enchanted Forest
3. Aragorn from Lord of the Rings
4. Let's see.... Reynie from The Mysterious Benedict Society
That's kinda my top 6. I have many more though.
I love Luna, too!

@Tiffany W;
I like Kate :)
(October 10, 2011 - 8:10 pm)
Me, too! I identify with Reynie, but he's a bit boring. It's a brilliant series, though!

Luna's my favorite HP character. I read an excellent fanfic about her called Mind's Eye, Soul's Reflection: A Luna Lovegood Story. I highly recommend Googling it. I have even more in common with this Luna than canon Luna, not that there's much of a difference between the 2.

My favorite character is Arya, from Eragon, which was why I decided to write on this thread.
(October 10, 2011 - 5:28 pm)
I LOVE Luna Lovegood!!! I am gong to be her for Halloween! My other favorites are Annabeth from PJ and Kate from The Mysterious Benedict Society. I also like a lot of the other Harry Potter and Percy Jackson characters.

Everyone likes Cimorene and Kate. Nobody likes Reynie and Mendanbar. No offence.
(October 11, 2011 - 4:35 pm)
I like them! I love Mendenbar! But maybe not as much as you.

- Liesel (The Book Thief)
- Rudi (The Book Thief)
- India Opal Bullony (Because of Winn-Dixie)

There are even more but I just forgot so I'll come back.

I don't have reasons for liking most of these characters. (or at least not reasons that would make sense to anyone but my insane self) ;D
1. Aoife and Scathach from the Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel (mostly Scathach)
2. Bellatrix (I don't know why I'm into villains) for (duh!) HP
3. Lady Lola Mercy Elizabeth Lockwood Sidorio. (Bellatrix's Vampirate counterpart)
4. Gretchen, Greer, and Grace from Sweet Venom
5. Annabeth (PJ and Heroes of Olympus)
6. Piper (H.o.O.)
7. Thalia (PJ & H.o.O.)
8. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE AWESOME GALLAGHER GIRLS!!!!!!!! (Sorry for the caps, I love the Gallagher girls!)
9. Kat (Heist Society)
10. Lorcan (Vampirates)
11. Cheng Li (Vampirates)
12. Sadie, Carter, and Amos Kane (Kane Chronicles)
13. All of the Cahills from 39 Clues (except Isabelle Kabra)
14. The entire Mysterious Benedict Society (but especially Kate)
15. Cassandra, Max Ernest, and Yoyoji (from The Secret Series)
16. Evie, Agnes, Sarah, and Helen (from Immortal)
17. Evie from Paranormalcy
18. Both the Grimm sisters
19. Elodie (A Tale of Two Castles)
20. Masteress Meenore (A Tale of Two Castles)
I would post all my other favorite characters, but I'm pretty sure I've already proven myself to be a book nerd. ;D (and I'm guessing people would get a little bit annoyed with my endless blabbering about book characters) :)

Well, my absolute favorite book character is Willa Shesa genius that is a really good fighter against the Disney Villains, meets my favorite Disney characters. and is half hologram. If I could switch lives with anyone, it would be her. She's from Kingdom Keepers, if you didn't already guess.
Since Kim A.'s list is almost exactly the same as mine, I'll just write the numbers on her list that are my favorites too. (These aren't in any certain order)
5.
6.
7.
8.
12. (and Bast)
13. (Only read the Black Book of Buried Secrets, but they're awesome, so...)
14.
17. (and Alisha) (just reading this book now, soooo good)
18.
And I also like Pauline, Petrova, Posie, and Guardie from Ballet Shoes, Ella from Ella Enchanted, Camelia and Kimmie from Deadly Little Secrets, Helen, Claire, and Luke from Starcrossed, Lily and Quince from Forgive My Fins, Ginny from 13 Little Blue Envelopes, Mia from Princess Diaries, Sophie from Hex Hall, Phoebe from Oh. My. Gods./Goddess Boot Camp, Isi from the Books of Bayern, Emma, Eadric, Millie, and Audun from the Books of the Frog Princess, any Sarah Dessan charrie, any Avalon High charrie, Jess from 1-800-Where-R-U (the series might have been renamed), Artemis Fowl from Artemis Fowl, the main charrie in Half Moon Investigations, and I could keep on going on...

Ooh, let's see...
As per usual these're in no particular order:
• Bellatrix Lestrange from Harry Potter, because she is insane and sadistic and evil and depraved and powerful, and it is delicious.
[Quick rule of thumb: If the character is insane and sadistic and evil and depraved and powerful, doesn't have a stupid Freudian Excuse, and manages to not be a bleeding idiot, there is a very good chance I will adore them]
• Lord Havelock Vetinari from Discworld, because... because he's Lord bloody Vetinari, that's why. xD Because he's clever and sneaky and he always, always has the upper hand, even when he doesn't actually have the upper hand. And, most importantly, because it works.
[Another rule of thumb: If the character, in anyway, resembles a Vetinari and/or is a highly competent political figure, there is a good chance I will adore them, too]
• Jadis from The Chronicles of Narnia, because... well, see previous rule of thumb and view her through the Chanson de Geste lens.
• Edmund from The Chronicles of Narnia, because he is amusing and, I think, the most intelligent of the Pevensie children, excepting that whole get-enchanted-by-the-witch episode. When viewed through the Chanson de Geste lens, well, all the better.
[The fact that I ship them has no bearing on my preference for them. At all. Really]
• Blore from And Then There Were None, because... I don't know. I think mostly because he reminded me of Philip Marlowe.
• Bob, from The Dresden Files. Yes, the knowledge spirit stuck in the skull. No, I don't know why either, but I always loved him and then I found out he was played by Terrance Mann of all people on the TV show, so... Yes. Bob.
[And I most definitely did not name my antique-shop-prize-ceramic-skull Bob in his honor]

@TNO since you mentioned the Narnia series- you've probably heard of planet narnia. Have you? My dad was talking about it, and it seems like a pretty interesting idea.
(October 14, 2011 - 6:18 pm)
1. Luna Lovegood
2. Sadie Kane
4. Maximum Ride
5. Holly Short - Artemis Fowl
6. No. 1 - Artemis Fowl
6. Juliet Butler - Artemis Fowl
7. Howl (Howl's Moving Castle)
8. Meg - The Wish List
9. Cosmo Hill - The Supernaturalists
10. Thresh
11. Thalia
12. Scathatch the Shadow - The Immortal Secrets of Nicolas Flamel
(October 12, 2011 - 7:05 pm)
THANK YOU!!!! There's someone else out there that loves villains like Bellatrix! ;D
