Percy Jackson Book vs Movie!!!!!!!!
OK I just...
OK I just watched the Percy Jackson movie and the way I could tell it was good was that my mom watched the whole thing ;) She usually gets bored of children's movies (well I guess this is sort of considered as a teen movie) and "watches" them out of the corner of her eye while she does something else. Anyway, let the comparison begin!

Oops, I mean racist. Nationality shouldn't matter in movie casting, unless it's a movie about Chinese people and they pick an African American guy :P in other words, if there's a good reason. I'd imagine Persephone as paler than she was in the movie because I think there'd be no sun in the underworld and so she'd naturally be pale. Of course, she wasn't originally the goddess of the underworld, she sometimes went up into the upper world-- wait a minute! What was Persephone doing in the underworld in summer? Now that doesn't make any sense.

If you have the movie and look in the deleted scenes, they deleted the scene where Grover told Percy about Thalia... just so you know ~wink wink~

Now let's move on to the terrible plot line,
Leslie, please resubmit your comment in upper and lowercase letters, not big in all capitals. Thanks.

This rant should be interesting.
They completely ruined the future movies. No Clarisse, no Sea of Monsters. No Dionysius, no Peter Johnson. No Thalia... no reason for the Golden Fleece, no Hunters of Artemis friction, no Bessie, and no awesome punk rock girl.

I reallly just plain disliked the movie. Before I read the book s I watched the movie and got mad because they messed up the greek mythology in it. And I also thought it was really cheesy. I liked it for some laughs though.
I tried watching it again last night now that I have read the books and I couldn't even make it half way through. It was evener cheesier (Probably not a word) then it had been the first time. And it was kind of confusing the way everything was so random. One thing I was thinking while watching the part where he is at camp for the first time is where are the twelve year-olds cause I am pretty sure they weren't all around 16.

@Lizzy
Yeah, I noticed they all looked about the same age.
I get that it's based loosely on the book, but if they're going to change it, they should either just keep the main idea or change miniscule details.
For example, Diary of a Wimpy Kid only had miniscule details changed (besides the addition of Angie) and both movies were great! And The Princess and the Frog, which was based off of one of my fave fantasy series, The Frog Princess by E.D. Baker, was changed so much only the main idea (the princess turning into a frog) was still there, and it was great!! So, if all of you become movie directors, remember this advice.

I REALLY LOVE the books, but I don't think the movie is good at all, even though I have never watched them. :(
