Percy Jackson Book vs Movie!!!!!!!!

OK I just watched the Percy Jackson movie and the way I could tell it was good was that my mom watched the whole thing ;) She usually gets bored of children's movies (well I guess this is sort of considered as a teen movie) and "watches" them out of the corner of her eye while she does something else. Anyway, let the comparison begin!

I KNOW!!!!! If they had to make that particular actress Annabeth, couldn't they at least give her a wig and those things that change the color of your eyes? (Grover was awesome
Percy was great
Medusa was perfect
!!!) They even messed up the plot, everywhere they had to go just magically appeared on the map. Also, it was a formal quest, with the prophesy and everything, whereas in the movie, they just snuck out and went on the quest. There was too much about the pearls, and they didn't even mention the mist or the oracle, and Luke was evil. In the book he wasn't evil, he was just being influenced by Cronos. Also, there weren't enough monsters, they didn't mention celestial bronze, and Annabeth fights with a sword instead of a dagger. On the next post I'll say the good things about the movie.

I think the movie was amazing, except for the fact that it was nothing like the book. If the movie wasn't affiliated with the book, I would say movie, but it is, so I say book.

I did not like the movie at all. The books are so much better! They completely messed up the casting. The acters were too old, and they gave Annabeth strait brown hair instead of curly blonde hair! They also changed the story way too much.

BOOK BOOK BOOK BOOK. They ruined the movie. Well, the movie was good, but they should have kept more to the original.
Problems:
1. They're twelve, not sixteen. This totally ruins the prophecy.
2. Luke does not give them a shield with the lightening bolt.
3. They do not need the pearls.
4. What happened to the giant Chilhuahua? I wanted to see that.
5. Peresephone did not try to kill Hades.
6. And a lot more.

I believe that I'm going to save everybody's time here, including Admins, because my post would be megasuperamazingly long if I were actually to say waht i was going to say, so I'm just going to leave it with this: The movie totally ruined the book! So many facts were wrong with it (though I won't list them..., but I could), that it made the book look horrible. I hope that the next movie isn't as bad, although the first one was pretty decent, movie wise.

I believe, so far, that we unanimously think that the movie was good, but it was too far from the book.
I forgot about Annabeth somehow. When I first saw her, I was like, it's GINNY WEASLEY!! And then I realized it was Annabeth.

Again, the book and movie are NOTHING alike. THEY EVEN GOT RID OF CLARISSE!!! WHAT HAPPENED TO PERCY BECOMING KING OF THE TOILETS?!?! XD lol.

Clarisse isn't in the movie?!?! WHOA! Okay, that's messed up. I already thought the movie was all wrong when I found out Percy was twenty. Oh, and of course the Annabeth hair thing. I haven't seen the movie... Yet.
I'm going to watch it so that I can rant about it later.

@SC: When I read that you thought Annabeth was Ginny Weasley I laughed so much. :D
Anyways, the movie has a bunch of missing/added stuff and blah blah blah. To me, even if it had just been a stand-alone movie, it was just plain horrible. (Except for Grover. Grover was awesome)

But you can't blame them for Annabeth's hair being brown. Like in Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe couldn't have green contacts because it severly irritated his eyes. So, maybe hair dye gave her throbbing headaches for somthing. And the wigs looked too fake. (Wigs do look really fake these days...)

Oh on you just set me on a rant..
THE MOVIE WAS TERRIBLE!!!!!
Now, let's start with bad character choices:
ANNABETH HAS BLONDE CURLY HAIR AND GRAY EYES, NOT BROWN STRAIGHT HAIR AND BLUE EYES!!!! GROVER WAS WHITE, NOT BLACK (wow, that sounds so racicist, but he was) GROVER WAS NOT POPULAR AND DID NOT LIKE THE WATER!!!! CHIRON IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE A BODY OF A WHITE STALLION, NOT A BROWN PONY!!!!!! AND I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THE HECK THEY WERE THINKING IN THE CHOOSING OF POSIDON AND ATHENA!!!!! THEY TOTALLY LEFT OUT THE CHARACTERS CLARRISE DIONYSIS AND THEY FORGOT TO EVEN MENTION THALIA!!!!!!! THEY GOT THE PERSONALITIES ALL WRONG WITH PERCY, ANNABETH, GROVER AND HADES!!!!

I was definitely willing to overlook the fact that Grover was black instead of white because he was really good at his part and... it does sound racsist! :C
