Chatterbox: Blab About Books

RP set in the future!!!!
Ok, there are...

Ok, there are lot's of RPs for Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, Warriors, and a few that aren't based on books, but has there ever been an RP that is set in the future???? The year: 2184.

Name: Chloe Edelia

Age: permanently 15/ actually 98

Appearance: shoulder length dark brown hair, brown eyes, light skin, about 5" 4'.

Personality: sly, tricky, not very trustworthy.

Other: lives in hiding, barely ever shows herself. She's pretty much a cyborg, because many years ago, if someone that had no relatives died, their body was pretty much recycled, a little over 60% of it being replaced by technology, their brain replaced by a computer, etc. (yeah, i know, it's gross) Then they were sold as servants or given to businesses to use as messengers or helpers, etc. Chloe escaped from the business she was sold to after she had developed a personality and her "brain" had retrieved some memories of her life before becoming a cyber-servant. She got her personality and memories back, and has been hiding from the authorities for 77 years. (she was human 15 years, lived as a cyber-servant for 6, and has been hiding for 77, so that makes her 98 years old, but she stays 15 permanently.)

I know. I just wasn't sure if you'd all seen it so I said it again just to make sure. And turns out I might be able to post more often than I thought.

Carter-

An hour later Alexiana was hooked up to the lie mechine. She was holding a microphone that was connected to a moniter by some Shanetastic tech. "OK, answer the questions as the appear on the screen. If the line turns red then it's a lie, if it turned green then it's true," Shane said. She nodded.

Do you think Chloe is a cyborg? "Yes."

True

Do you think Carter is a nice person? "Yes."

Lie. Wow thanks.

Do you think Eva is a good person? "Yes."

True.

Are you from Asialia? "No."

Lie

(If you don't want her to  be from Asialia then just ignore it.)

@~Sam~- I really didn't think of that, so, sure.

@Everybody- I couldn't see Sam's post when I posted so just ignore the part where I go back.

Alexiana~~~

"No."

Lie. Every body stiifens up at that one. They continue.

"Why are you here?" Umm, well, am I really going to tell them all my secrets? No, 'cause how much fun would that be?

"I won't tell you." I cross my arms and stick my tounge at is it Shane, who is kinda sorta cute in a little bitty way. Wait, emotions overload.

Lie. Hey!

Eva shifts around uncomfortably. Darn it!

Shane smiles slightly.

"Why not?" He has decided to ignore the machine, for reasons that elude me.

"I'll tell you if Chloe wants to know. Where is she? I won't answer that question until I see her." To make my point clear, I shove Carter's seat back by about an inch. I also pull Eva's pencil out of her hand, and let it hit the floor.

The machine had stopped, but now it blinks True. The effort of doing all that has made me want to drop. I sway in my chair, about to faint. Shane puts a hand out to steady me.

"How about I answer a question for every 2 you answer? Like that junk (willl Shane forgive me? I'm trying to make a point is all.) shows, you aren't getting any more info for free!"

True That thing is annoying. I rip out the censors, which stings like crazy.

I wiil let you guys decide if it's yes or no. Please let me see Chloe soon, even if it's video conference. Please!

sorry it's so long!!!!

Chloe--

"Tasha, how much longer until we get there?" I asked her impatiently.

"Jeez, you sound like a little kid, askin' that." She laughed at me.

"We've already been up here for five hours and twenty six minutes!" I proclaimed, glancing at the watch she was wearing. "Shouldn't we be there by now?"

"We had to go around that storm a while back, that delayed us quite a bit." She pointed out. "But there it is." she pointed to the city that was getting larger in our vision by the moment. Daristan. Capital of Asialia. I put on my gear. I had on a black jumpsuit and helmet, and Tasha put the plane on auto pilot to help me get the parachute on. Then she attached a second parachute to my backpack. I grabbed the backpack's straps so it wouldn't float away on the way down. Then I nodded to Tasha, and as the cargo door of the plane popped open, I jumped.

The sunset was starting as I floated down, and it almost looked like something out of a movie. I landed just outside Daristan. I watched Tasha's plane fly away once I was on the ground, and then set off. I took the parachute off my back and put my backpack on, took off the helmet, and started walking towards Daristan. Luckily, not many people had been on the street to see my leap. I then made my way to the governor's home, a large manor only a few miles away from city hall. I made my way around to the tour entrance, where people could go in and tour certain parts of the mansion during the day. Two security guards were posted outside the tall iron gate.

I took out a small black object that at first glance would look like one of those old fashioned iPod things. It was actually an Electrin, a kind of stun gun. I pointed it at the first guard, and shot. He was immediately knocked unconscious. The second guard turned toward his partner, surprised. I shot him with the Electrin as well. Running from where I had been hiding around the corner, I leapt over the senseless men and over the gate. Eight feet isn't very tall to a cyborg who can jump about nine.

I crept silently to the back door and took out my Holo-Key, the electronic mother of all skeleton keys. It opened the high-tech lock like it was nothing. I entered slowly, looking around warily as I made my way to the grand staircase, which had a large sign stating that the staircase was closed off to the public. I proceeded up the steps and down the large hallway, into the governor's room, where he was sitting in an arm chair that was much too large for such a short man. He wasn't built like a dwarf, but he wasn't exactly tall either. He was a couple inches shorter than me.

He didn't see me at all until I shut the door behind me. The noise brought him out of the story he was reading. His eyes widened.

"Who are you?" He asked, trying to sound like he wasn't scared. He spoke English, with an Australian accent.

"No one." I told him, locking the door and coming toward him. He looked alarmed as he pulled out a small device that no doubt summoned a lot of guards. I knocked it out of his hand, and smashed it before he could reach for it again.

“What do you want?” he asked, no longer trying to hide the fear in his voice.

“Nothing. Only for you to stay still.” as I said this I pulled a thick rope out of my backpack. Old fashioned, I know, but I didn’t have anything better at the moment. I tied him to the chair and started searching the room. I found papers in the drawer of his bedside table that had legal significance, as they were signed by both him and the prime minister of Haishia. Haishia was a neutral island! They had gone to Asialia’s side, and no one knew about it yet. I had to get these back to The Underground.

“Please, don’t hurt me!” the governor said as I came toward him again.

“I’m not going to. I’m just getting my rope back.” I pulled a small switchblade out of my pocket and cut through the rope with ease. The man ran out the door to alert his guards, and I, not wanting to run into anyone who might be coming up the stairs, opened and jumped out of the window. I ran to the gate, climbed quickly over it, and ran all the way to the airport, where I showed the guards a lot of forged IDs and stuff like that. Then, once inside, I looked for Tasha. I saw her by a door that said “Private Loading and Boarding Only”. I followed her through the door and we hurried onto the plane.

“Was it too easy?” she asked me as we took off.

“Yep.” I grinned. Tasha put the plane on auto pilot so she could go into the back and get some sleep. As a cyborg, I didn’t need sleep, so I just waited for morning to come.

I'm sorry I haven't posted yet. I'll start now....

~Cam~

I lay down on my lime green sofa, which floats in the middle of the room like an island. My gaze swivels to my Wall of Gadgets, filled with all sorts of cool knick knacks: 5-D technology saved from the movie theature dumpster after it closed down, vintage I-Pads from 2011, and several holographic devices. Most of them I've been able to repair so they can work again-my dad thinks I have a knack for mechanics. That's probably true, but there's no way I'm helping him repair Asialia planes anytime soon. The whole war is just a big waste. A waste of time, money, and lives that could be spent doing more productive things. Whoever thought it would be a great idea to try to dominate the world really doesn't have a clue.

Feeling bored, I switch on the TV that covers three of the seven walls in my rather large room. A very serious looking reporter is droning on and on about the Sky War, the Sky War, the Sky War. I almost turn it off before I get horrible news.

"The governor had a break-in in his office today," says the reporter, who seems bored. I am shocked. "Many important documents were stolen, and there was no evidence of who got in his mansion. The thief was smart enough to break the security cameras that lined the hall."

The TV goes off in a snap. This is getting sickening. The war is out of control now. I feel unsafe and decide that now would be the perfect time to get my body over to The Underground. I pack a backpack with a few changes of clean clothes, chocolate bars, a bar of soap, some of my gadgets, and a couple of wads of cash. There's an obstacle, however, as soon as I set foot out my door.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't Flyby," my sister Hailey sneers from down the hall. The snobby sidekicks circled around her nod their agreement. I recognize her friends Jordan, Sarah, and Mikayla, as well as her boyfriend Carlo. "Still trying to save the world, Metal Head?"

I now realize that getting to the Underground will be harder than I thought. Not only will I have to deal with my dad, who thinks domination is the best thing that ever happened to him, but also Hailey, his number one fan. Searching for a quick escape, an idea pops in my head.

I stare at Hailey furiously. With an evil grin, she moves forward, one step at a time. I let her do this until she breaks into a run. Then slowly, steadily, I plant out my foot. Hailey doesn't see-and it's too late now.

"Have a nice TRIP-see you next FALL!" I call out to her as she topples like a bowling pin and her friends form a semicircle around her once more. It leaves me just enough time to scratch a fake note on my disappearence for Dad ("I'm going to spend the night at a friend's") and run out our front door into the driveway, just as the first drops of rain begin to hit the pavement.

Chloe--

We arrived back home in 4 hours, and it was still dark out, though it wouldn't be for long. It was about 5:00 in the morning, so the sun should have started to rise soon. I thanked Tasha for her help and for the ride, then I ran back out of the airport and caught the bus back downtown. I entered the tiny knickknack store again, where an Underground agent was setting up shop and getting ready for the day's customers. I waved and went to the "EMPLOYEES ONLY" door, and pressed my hand to the camouflaged scanner next to it. The scanner read my handprint to see who I was, then the door swung open. I ran inside and down the huge staircase that leads all the way down to the Underground. I opened the door at the bottom of the steps, and kept running, down the hall that leads to the conference room where I had met the telekinetic kid 2 nights ago. No one was there, so I pressed the Video Intercom button on the wall. The wall immediately turned into a huge screen, with Lea's face in the middle. Lea's another Underground kid, the one in charge of spreading any news and/or gossip that reaches her ear.

"Hey, Chloe! You're back!" she smiled.

"Yeah, and I need you to get Carter, Shane, Eva, and all the other leaders in here, ASAP." My grave expression wiped the smile off her face.

"Right away," she said, and the screen turned once more into a wall.

~~~~~~
Soon ten kids huddled around the table in the conference room.
"As most of you know, I recently went to Daristan to gather information on Asialia's weaponry," I said as the way of starting my speech.
"You sound like some government official or something," a girl with a blond pixie cut said. I ignored her and kept talking.
"I didn't find any information on their weaponry," I said, and the kids' faces all fell. "I found something that none of you will like to hear, but you'll be glad to know." This perked their ears up again. "Haishia has made an alliance with Asialia."
Everyone started yelling at once. I took the papers out of my backpack to show them, and passed the documents around the table.
"This is bad," Shane says.
okay, since nobody that was in the room with me has posted yet, I'm going to move on, yet not have any one say yes or no yet.
Alexiana~~~~
"How about we take a break? We can continue later." Carter says. I glare at her. Shane has rushed over to the machine and is trying to repair it.
"I'm guessing that my opinion really doesn't count here, right?"
"Yep." I really despise Carter. Something is beaping urgently.
"Come on, lets go back honey." The girl who took me to the confrence room has magically appered.
"first off, I don't need help to get back. And secondly, I am  not a honey."  I storm out of the room, and I don't even bother to close the door.
Here's where my old post continues.
Alexiana ~~~
I throw myself on the bed. "GROAN!" I don't even know where I am! I take out my calender and mark out a few hours. "Chloe." I smile. One thing to look forward to. I close my eyes. Sleep makes my eyes heavy. The last thought I can remember is "I hope I can see her soon".
Oh, well her post never showed up so I don't know what happened.
(August 6, 2011 - 3:32 pm)
Here I hope this shows up!
Lea, one of the workers from The Underground, came running up. Her brown eyes sparkled with excitement.
“Hey Eva!” She waved with her tan, graceful-fingered hand.
Lea was something like a message carrier. She’d been tried in so many jobs, but some had gone wrong.
Take weapons for example. Lea has given more than one worker a scare from an accidental shot.
The girl’s reliable, quick, and gossipy. Nothing more; nothing less.
“What’s wrong?” My atomatic response to someone running up to me in excitement. People would think that’s a good thing. In the Underground? No way.
Lea pushed a blond strand of hair behind her ear before she answered in a gush of words: “Chloe’s back, and she wants (deep breath) all of you to come to the meeting room over there.” She pointed down the lamp-lit hall. “What do you think she wants? Does she have bad news or good news?” Streams of questions rolled out of Lea’s mouth, but I was already halfway down the hall.
I entered the meeting room quietly, and took a seat next to Shane on the right hand side of the long steel table.
Chloe stood up at the front, expressionless and quiet. Her shoulder-length brown hair seemed frizzy as if she hadn’t combed it for a while. Other than that, anything I observed seemed almost--what should I say--Perfect.
Chloe gave us all a look that clearly said: Shut it. Then she began. "As most of you know, I recently went to Daristan to gather information on Asialia's weaponry.”
Her head was held high, and her chest filled with pride.
"You sound like some government official or something,” a girl with a spiky blonde pixy cut muttered.
A half smile danced across my lips. Chloe always acted like that. Like she was the head. She was the oldest, technically; one of our best fighters; she was often sent on private missions.
I had yet to dream of a private mission. I’d been in the Underground for four years. I’d gone on group missions, but NEVER had I been on a mission myself. I yearned to feel that same pride rise in my chest.
"I didn't find any information on their weaponry,” Chloe went on, completely ignoring the girl.
 I could feel the small sliver of hope slide out of everyone.
"I found something that none of you will like to hear, but you'll be glad to know." The small sliver of hope flickered. "Haishia has made an alliance with Asialia."
“WHAT?!” I exclaimed in anger. Haisha was a neutral island. We’d already had a whole mission group try to convince them to join SA.
Other exclamations and angry words flew into the air.
“This can’t be happening…” I muttered.
“Oh sure it can,” Shane said.
Chloe took a folder out of her backpack, and then started to pass around papers. The room became silent.
Shane took an angry look at the papers and handed them to me.
“This is bad,” was all he said.
I flipped through the papers.
Conversations between the governors, deals, weapons, promises that would most likely be broken…
“We have to do something.”
Chloe looked at me.
“What?”
“We have to do something.”
“Eva…”
“Do you want us to sit around here? We need to organize a mission to stop them. There may be a chance.”
“Eva…”
“Well, WHAT do you want to do?!” I couldn’t stand it when Chloe acted like she was something better.
“I-I…”
“Everyone for a new mission, raise their hands.” I slowly put my hand up, and waited for the others.
Chloe--
Eva raised her hand first in favor of a mission to stop Haishia from going with Asialia. Then Shane raised his hand. Carter was next, then pixie cut girl, and after a moment almost every hand was up.
"Who's going to go on this mission?" I asked. "Because I'm not going on another one so soon. I just got back and I need to recharge."
"Do you mean that literally or figuratively?" asked pixie-cut girl. A few people chuckled.
"Figuratively." I told her as I glared at her. "Now is anyone going to answer my question?"
"I'll go!" said Eva.
"Ok, but who else will go with you?" I asked.
"I can do it myself, you know. I'm not weak." she said.
"But-"
"No! i can do it myself."
"Okay..." I said slowly. Then I turned and left the room.
If it's OK with you all, I think that if Chloe gets a good number of votes for her mission and ends up going to Asialia, then she should find Cam, since she needs to get to the Underground fast! :)
~Cam~
My shoes--not the retro ones with wheels, mind you--they'd been making a resurgance--dashed down the pavement as the rain began to fall harder and harder. I was still in the concrete part of our city, and I was about to cross over into what the locals called "Tech"--a place where the looming metal buildings were protected from rust by umbrellas adorned with Asialia colors, a town shrouded in pixelated ads playing from everywhere.
I expected to have to show my Asialia badge to the guard standing next to the bridge that divided Tech from Old World-the concrete sea on which I lived in. But nobody stood by the small scanner machine today. Guess the rain is luckier than I thought, I said to myself.
Now, I thought, would be a good time to set up camp. But where? As thunder began to rumble in the gloomy sky, I found myself running around like a maniac until I reached Galia's Art Center. There was a small alley in between that and the new movie theatre, so I decided to make it a temporary home.
The alley was right by the windows, so I took a peek at the teens inside making masterpieces with ArTiplexes. ArTiplexes were one of the latest technological advances in the art world. You could draw with them and have whatever you drew turn out just like a pastel or watercolor doodle. Should I try to snatch one for my collection? I debated.
I noticed some easels that had been tossed out back thanks to this new development. Scooping up a few of the larger ones, I constucted a fort and snuggled up inside with some of the sheets I had brought with me. Pulling a caramel triple fudge chocolate out of the bag, I turned on my portable TV. For once, an interesting program was on about how more materials, including cotton, could be recycled with a new form of science. Peeking out of a peephole I'd carefully made, I noticed my home was right by the docks. Good, I thought. I can hit the ocean by morning.
