The Kane Chronicles

Rick Riordan wrote this series! I guess it's about Egyptian gods and goddess fighting a battle or something. I haven't read it yet, but I know that it's gonna be awesome! I don't exactly want this to be a rp, but a place where you can chat about characters, settings, things like that. But if people want this to be a rp, then I'll think about it again. I don't even know if the book's out yet, I just ordered it from my school book order. Huh, I never really thought of that....

I am halfway through it! It is kinda weird at the beginning, and not explained very well, but I can't keep away from it! It's about these two kids named Sadie and Carter whose dad blew up the Rosetta Stone and released five Ancient Egyptian gods. Isis and Horus kind of, um, possesed Sadie and Carter while Osirus posessed their dad. Set, the evil god, imprisoned Osirus (Dad) because he wanted to be the kind god or whatever. And its up to Carter (Horus) and Sadie (Isis) to save him and repeat the history that happened thousands of years ago where Horus defeated Set witht he help of Isis.

Sorry, that was a confusing explanation.

(adding on to Katie's explanation)

The setting is weird, also. I got the feeling that they were telling it to the police or something, because they kept on saying "Sadie finally gave me the mic." "Sorry about that. Carter's bad at explaining." or things like that.

Really, Emma. You're like, my best friend, but I promised Sean he can read it. Family goes before friendship!! Anyways, I just finished the book!!!!! It is so awesome!! I take back my last post, it they aren't talking to the police, they're recording a document about their adventures when Bast is driving them to their next destination. The book is so awesome!!! But if you read this, you should read Percy Jackson. It's still my favorite!!

I have a friend who told me about this. He read it and told me some of the jokes. They sounded (no offense) pretty stupid. I think Egyptian mythology is waaaay to primitive to make good jokes about. Anyways, I knew nothing about greek mythology when I read the first series, but I know so much about Egyptian mythology. There arent even many legendary creatures, excepting the serpent from Punt and the Benu bird (yes, Ammut is a goddess). This is a great spoiler, though: Set was trapped in Duat by himself, not by Isis. Isis just tricked him into doing it. I hope they use the chracter from The Tale of the Shipwrecked Sailor, which is like an Egyptian version of the Odyssey. And they'd better go to duat and see the halls of judgement, and see my favourite goddess, Nyphythys.

No offense, but what was that ridiculous joke about the monkey and the sky goddess Mut?!

Yeah Emma, James and Emily are both reading it! Good job on finishing warriors, though! Anyways, the sky goddess name was Nut, I think.

I've read it about ten times over, so I consider myself an expert on Egyptian lore, as well as the books. Yes, the sky goddess is named Nut. The other gods are Horus, Osirus, Isis, Bast, Set, Geb, Nepthys, and Anubis. Shu is also mentioned, though we never really see him. So is Ra. And Apophis is mentioned (and appears once), but I don't think it counts as a god. I will direct people to my RP on BaB- it currently has no posts. Please come!!!
