We have officially...
We have officially started the book club! The book is The Willoughbys by Lois Lowry; read it as fast as you want and discuss it here whenever you want, but as Ima said, don't move on to another book before everyone else is done. It would be best if you could get it from the library/read it in 2 weeks. It's really short anyway, only about 176 pages if I remember correctly. Let's get started!

Peter was a character from Heidi. When Tom called Barnaby C that, he was joking about his appearance, which was similar to Peter's.
Oh, and I think LL was trying to make the romances obvious. But I know what you mean. When Commander Melanoff made his 'decision,' I seriously thought he was about to propose to Nanny!

I finished reading the book. I enjoyed it a lot. Tim and the parents, I think, are so incredibly awful you just have to laugh.

I agree. I laughed quite often, actually, which could get rather embarrassing as I read most of it in a very public place, full of complete strangers. Oh well.

Yes, I am. Plus, my little brother needed something for Mom to read to him, so I gave them my library copy of The Willoughbys, and they both love it.
