We have officially
Chatterbox: Blab About Books
The Willoughbys
We have officially...
We have officially started the book club! The book is The Willoughbys by Lois Lowry; read it as fast as you want and discuss it here whenever you want, but as Ima said, don't move on to another book before everyone else is done. It would be best if you could get it from the library/read it in 2 weeks. It's really short anyway, only about 176 pages if I remember correctly. Let's get started!

That works out for me because I have to go to the library this week anyway.

OK, great! I'll order it from the library and start reading it...as soon as it comes! :)
Andy P. C. says yurz. You're right, Andy, they didn't pick any of mine. Oh well, maybe next time...

Well, you see, we take turns choosing. Mary Jo came up with her own this time, and Kendra will choose next, and so on. So the books you suggested (well, one of them anyway—we'll do more on your other turns) can be read when it's your turn to choose. It's in order from when we joined, you see...

I plan to go to the library soon.

'Kay, cool. I haven't read it yet, but I love LL. I'll get it soon's I can.

I started reading it! One of the characters (Tim) is seriously ticking me off! I don't like people like him that much.

Hey, can I join? I'll try and find the Willoughbys when I get it. What's on the front cover? That would help me find it. What's the main plot? And what will you do with the name of this thread when we finish reading the book?

MEGA SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!! DON'T READ IF YOU HAVE NEVER/NOT FINISHED THE WILLOUGHBYS!!!!!!!!!!!
I was pretty sure Commander would marry Nanny. It's pretty obvious. And I loved the ending. But I thought Burnaby C's name was Peter. Oh well, it added to the humour. And in the Epilogue, when it said Commander created Junior Mints, I was like, "OMJ!" but turns out that someone else (the non-fiction creator of Junior Mints) had already invented them.
SPOILER FINISHED, FOR PEOPLE AT LEAST TWO CHAPTERS PAST THE ODIOUS NANNY
I like Nanny better than Mary Poppins. Both the Julie Andrews one, and the book one. :-P
FOR EVERYONE
I saw this book in the library before, I didn't want to try it. It didn't seem that interesting. It's actually a really good book. (figures, it's by Louis Lowry)

Is anyone done finishing the book? Well, I don't care. You're almost at the near-bottom, that will never do. TO THE TOP!

Thanks for posting it Admin. *gives roses, chocolates, and brownies* ;-) I wonder if anyone has finished reading, The Willoughbys.
APC says peeu, maybe as in Pee-yoo. Well APC, if you think the Willoughbys is a horrible book then you're wronger than I was when I got 74% on a math test. :-P Or is it me?

I got it from the library today, and I'm on page 74. I love it, too, so it isn't just you. I agree about The Odious Nanny; she's winderful. As for Tim... He would really annoy me in real life, but as a character, I actually find him quite amusing.
As I said, I haven't finished it. However, I will today; I'm sure!
