Another HP RP?
There were a...
There were a few of these going on a while back, but they all appear to be good 'n' dead now. Admittedly one was forcibly stopped because the only people left were evil, sadistic maniacs and the Admin were getting tired of having to ask us to please stop torturing people, and it was kind of slowing down anyway, but the other... what... three just sort of petered out.
*deep breath*
And because I am currently on vacation I don't have any homework to put off and then stress out about, so I have even more time on my hands then usual, hooray! ((Also it's too hot to go outside. Like, almost 90.)) Downside of this is... well... I have nothing to do.

TL;DR: Anyone want to start a new HP roleplay?

And no, not the only female beater ever. Female beaters are rare, to be sure, but the Holyhead Harpies is an all-female team, so its beaters would be female, too. However, they may not have existed in Marauders' time, so you can still be the first female beater ever if you want.
APC say's arnt! Aren't! I'm not what?

oOkay... here is my character thingey
Name: Emily
year: 2
house: Ravenclaw
best subject: transfiguration
discription: long, strait red-blonde hair, freckles, normal hight, slim but not skinney
So I have a question: what year are the mauraders (and Lily and Snape) in?
(April 4, 2010 - 3:23 pm)
Shall we say 5th, because that's where Wolfgirl's character is and she's friends with Lily?
And can I have Snape (since I doubt I'll be getting Bellatrix again, and anyway she's long out of Hogwarts if the Maurader's are in fifth year)?
And also Regulus, if no one wants him. He's, what, two years younger than Sirius? *checks* yeah. So that puts him in 3rd year. And he was a seeker as I recall.
And no more than three characters otherwise my head will probably explode.

((Right, so, let's get this thing started shall we?
As per usual, I'm assuming we're starting on the train...))
*
Titus shoved his hands in his pockets as he walked. He was rather early, so the platform had not yet started to fill up and he had managed to get his trunk into a compartment without running over any toes. On the flip side, he had a half hour to kill while he waited for the train to depart.
A few other students had trickled in, too, though most people, Titus knew, would show up within ten minutes of the train's departure and then wonder why they couldn't find an empty compartment.
He saw Severus Snape arrive, with Lily Evans as usual, and waved. They weren't really friends, exactly, but it would be nice to have someone to chat with.
Severus gave him a curt nod, but Lily smiled a little and waved back. Neither of them made any indication that they were coming nearer, so Titus sighed and shoved his hand back in his pockets. He continued to pace, glancing at the archway that led out into the Muggle world in case any of his friends came through. It was unlikely, he had to admit; the only habitually punctual friend he had had been transferred to Beuaxbatons this year, because her parents thought it would provide her with a more rounded education. As far as Titus could see, all April would learn there that she wouldn't have learned at Hogwarts was how to speak French. Ah, well.
For lack of anything better to do, Titus went back to the train and changed into his robes, slipping his wand into the pocket he'd hand-sewn into the inside sleeve this summer. It had taken him thirty minutes, and he'd pricked himself precisely seventy-three times. Titus was rather proud of it, even if it was a little lumpy and odd looking.
When he returned to the platform, it had gotten a good deal more crowded. Titus glanced up at the clock on the wall; fifteen minutes to go.

Would anyone mind if i tried my hand at a role-play? i've never done one before, please tell me if i am doing anything wrong...
Character:Raelyn Nordsky
House: Gryffindor. (though all of her family has been and is in Ravenclaw)
Year: 5th
Favorite Class: Defense against the Dark Arts
Appearance: dark Mousy Brown mid-back hair, slightly wavy. Hazel eyes. Taller then girls her age, but not so tall to be 'really tall'. has much muscle, and rather slim.
Personality: (this may change, you never can tell a personality at the beginning) Quiet and usually keeps to herself. Has a bad temper when annoyed, and is not a very popular student. She is known for hexing people when angered, but can be very gentle. Has a hard shell and soft interior. Has bad mood swings and is often unpredictable.
May i start now?
Raelyn Nordsky lay face up on a wooden bench. The sign Platform 9 3/4 hung dully above her. It seemed to be in a bad state that sign. It was the only one in the station that was in need of a good repairing charm, or at minimum a wash. The sign looked rather dejected, hanging there at the end of the platform, as if everyone walked by but didn't bother to look up and think 'What a nice sign, it does a very good job at telling me were i am'. no, it just hung there waiting to be noticed.
Raelyn turned her head sideways looking down the platform, the large clock read 15 to the hour. Finally people were just arriving. Some already had hogwarts robes on, many were just in muggle clothing. Terrified and excited looking first years hovered around there parents, waiting to be told what to do. She recognized a handful of kids. Some of which were kin to her. She saw Lilly Evens straight off, laughingly happy eyes, a smile that could light a room. Raelyn felt a smile tugging at her lips as she remembered when Lilly had tried to make conversation with her. It was nice of her to attempt to make discussion of the potions essay, but two of her other Gryfinndor friends had quickly drawn her away. Whispering about a rumor that Raelyn had hexed a Hufflepuff boy for bumping into her. This was, of couse, not true. He had tripped her, then tried to make her apologize for scuffing his shoe. Thats when Raelyn hexed him.
The train whistle sounded, declaring 10 minutes until the start of the journey. Raelyn wasn't quite sure if she was looking forward to this year. She decided that she would figure that out after a week was up. Raelyn was almost not able to come back this year. In fact some teachers asked her not to. She didn't get along well with anyone, and had gone to enough detentions by her 5th year to last 7 years of school. The only good thing about this was that she had met Sirius Black. They weren't what you would call friends, but she knew he was probably the only person in the school who wouldn't rat on her for somthing she didn't do.
Sitting up Raelyn decided to head onto the train. She grabbed her owl, Barnaby, and headed towards the shining red engine.
*******
I'm awfully afraid this is to long, sorry if it is.... Please let me know if i am writing this role-play correctly.
(April 5, 2010 - 2:49 am)
((You're fine, and it's not too long.
Who's doing Sirius, by the way? You can, if you want to. And I suppose we'll need someone for James, Lupin, and Peter, too, I suppose. I'll do Peter if no one else wants him, since I'm not generally prone to Disappearing Peter Syndrome.))
(April 5, 2010 - 10:40 am)
@Kendra: It's not too long at all, Kendra; it's not long enough! I really enjoyed it! I really like your writing. I thought the name "Barnaby" was cute.
P.S. Lily is spelled with one 'L' in Harry Potter, and 'I's' are capetilized.
(April 5, 2010 - 12:04 pm)
@ TNO, thanks for the offer, but I think perhaps I'll stick to one charcter for my first role-play. Better to keep it easy don't you think?
@ Hannah, thank you! Barnaby is the name of a detective in one of my favorite murder mystery shows. I thought it would make a good name for a barn owl. Also, I was writing that at around 1am, so I didn't really remember to check all my I's and names, sorry if it bothered you.

OK, here we go:
"Lily," Rolanda called. "I need to talk to you. Away from-" she looked into the compartment at Severus Snape. Oooooh, she hated that boy. How could Lily be friends with him? "-him," she finished, glaring at Severus.
"OK," Lily said. "Be back soon, Sev."
"Right," he said, glaring right back at Rolanda. Lily got up and went into the other compartment with Rolanda. "What's up?"
"How can you hang out with Severus? Don't you remember who he hangs out with? Avery and Mulciber?"
"I know," Lily said, looking very unhappy. "I talked to him about it, but he just won't listen."
Rolanda sighed. "Oh-oh, here comes Raelyn. I'm moving to another compartment."
"Oh, Rolanda, Raelyn's not that bad. She's probably just lonely."
"Hrmph!" said Rolanda. "See you later then, Lily."
"See you."
When Rolanda walked back to her compartment, Titus was sitting in it.

//Titus//
The compartment door slid open with a faint squeak and Titus glanced up from the Herbology textbook he had been flipping through. He blinked up at the vaguely familiar face.
"Hello," he said, pleasantly. "Do you need something?"
She's in Ravenclaw, isn't she? I think so. Yes, yes, she hit a bludger at Regulus last year.
The girl frowned. "This is my compartment, thanks," she said, a trifle irritably.
What is her name?
"I was here first," Titus said. Smithson. Yeah. Good backswing, that one.
Her eyes narrowed slightly. "You weren't here five minutes ago."
"No, I was out on the platform. But you'll notice that my books have been in here for..." Titus checked his watch. Six minutes till. "Twenty-four minutes now." It's... R something or other. Ronda? He sighed, and gave up. "I'm really very sorry," he said, "but I can't remember your name."
The girl hesitated. "Rolanda," she said, after a pause.
Well, Ronda was close anyway. "Rolanda," Titus echoed, nodding. "You're welcome to sit here anyway, you know. You're a beater, aren't you?"
"Yeah," she said, easing into a chair. "So are you."
"Yep," Titus said.
"You broke my arm my first year playing," Rolanda said, matter-of-factly.
"Oh." Titus hesitated. "Sorry?"
Rolanda shrugged. "Inherent risk, I suppose," she said.
They descended into an awkward silence. Titus returned to the textbook, skimming over the illustrations of various magical plants which really looked all the same to him, and felt his ears warming slightly as the silence stretched.
(April 5, 2010 - 5:04 pm)
((Ok, I'm actually going to make Orda 5th year instead of 3rd))
~~~~~~~~~
Orda walked through the solid wall between platforms 9 and 10, her small black cat, Nightfall, trotting beside her. She looked at the clock, 15 minutes 'til 11. She boarded the train, Nightfall in front. Wandering through the aisles, she saw her fellow Slytherin, Titus. "Hello," Orda said, sliding open the door, "is it ok if I sit here?"
(April 5, 2010 - 10:02 pm)
//Rolanda//
Rolanda looked up as Orda walked in. Titus greeted her and told her it was all right to sit down, so Rolanda moved to the other side of the compartment and stared stonily in front of her.
"You're a Muggleborn, aren't you?" Orda asked sharply.
"I don't see how it matters," Rolanda replied coolly. "But to answer your question, yes, I am. And before you make the usual comment about us Mudbloods being stupid," she continued, voice rising, "you might want to notice that I am a RAVENCLAW!"
Orda's mouth opened and shut a few times before she subsided into silence.
Titus, who had been watching the exchange with raised eyebrows, now noticed Rolanda glaring at him and dove into the safety of his book. At that point Sirius Black walked in.
"What do you want?" the two girls yelled at him.
"Nothing," he said, looking taken aback. "I was just...just looking for James, that's all."
"Well, he's not here," Rolanda snapped. "Now go away!"
Sirius ran out of the compartment as fast as he could go.
**************************************************************************
OK, so let me get this straight:
Me=Rolanda/Lily/Sirius (I claim him! HA!)
TNO=Titus/Snape/Regulus/Wormtail (? You can have him if you want him, I don't care one way or the other.)
MCB=Orda
Kendra=Raelyn
Alexandria=Alexandria.
Excuse me if I got anything wrong or forgot somebody.
Raelyn wandered slowly down the corridor. The train hadn’t begun to moveyet, but people outside were hurrying to get on. Compartments were filling upquickly and Raelyn was desperate to find one that didn’t have any of her 5siblings in it, and preferably one that didn’t hold any of her enemies, whichwere many. She noticed Lily Evens up ahead; she was being pulled out of acompartment by her friend Rolonda. Raelyn headed towards them, Lily was decentenough to sit with. Rolonda’s head snapped up when she noticed Raelyn comingtowards them, she told Lily something, then hurried off in the other direction.
Lily had disappeared backinto the compartment and Raelyn grabbed the door. It was slightly sticky, as ifit recently had gum on it, and whoever cleaned it did a bad job. She slid thedoor open and the red seats and shinning trunk racks greeted her. Also twofaces turned as she stepped into the compartment. Raelyn didn’t say anythingbut sat down on the seat on Lily’s side. She glanced carefully at the otherfigure in the small room. Raelyn wasn’t quite sure who it was, names whizzed thoughher mind and finally settled on Snape. Severus Snape, a Slytherin boy in his 5thyear. He had a rather long hawk-like nose, and greasy black hair. He frowned ather when she sat down.
“Don’t you know it’s rudenot to ask to sit?” he sneered.
Raelyn stayed quiet, she knewthat if she said anything it would make her more frustrated, then angry andthen dangerous. She bit her lower lip and sent Snape a glare that shut him up,though it didn’t stop Evens from talking.
“Are you glad to be comingback to Hogworts?” she asked Raelyn pleasantly.
“To early to say” Raelynreplied.
Hmmm some of the words joined together again... Is it just Chatterbox admin? Or does that always happen when people copy and paste?
I think it's copy and paste. Or perhaps you have a sticky space bar? Must be careful with liquids around keyboards, you know.... Delicate instruments, these.
:) no it's not the keyboard, but thanks for the warning.
