In order to
Chatterbox: Blab About Books
In order to counteract Warriors, I'm going in alpha order across my bookshelf and making a thread for the first five books. I'm skipping PBosch's books, though, because there's already a thread for those.
Savvy?
Also, I just realized I'm gonna skip around more because there's already threads for other things, or they're boring or obscure, or whatevah.
And fourth is feel-good books, because I have a lot of those in the early letters of the alphabet.
For instance, Frances Hogson Burnet (sp?), Beverly Cleary, Roald Dahl, and the book Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes.
Technically speaking I'm too old for these, and I'd probably never read them by choice now, but I like to flip through them every now and then. Because y'see, they're "feel-good" books. They give the heart a *warm and fuzzy feeling*.
Anyone have books like these?
ANNE OF GREEN GABLES! I will never get tired of reading the series. :)

I know that I got really excited when I was first on here when someone replied to something I put up. You aren't that weird . . . least I don't think so. I'm very weird. . . . and speaking about names, I'm very glad I didn't put up my real one when I replied to Ima's comment.

Hahaha, I hear you. I once did something rather embarrassing on here, and I wished I hadn't put my name.... Ugg... that was humiliating. I hope no one remembers it!!! :)

Do they have to be books you wouldn't read by choice and are too young for you? If so...yeah, the ones you said, with the exception of Sadako, and probably, um, Winnie the Pooh. If not, Little Women, and Anne of Green Gables, like Admin said. :-)
I notice that your books are organized alphabetically. I've tried that, but it didn't last long. Now I'm thinking I'll arrange them by color. H'm....

Haha, I've got mine arranged by what colors and heights look good together!! I should post a picture......
Oh, and The Cobble Street Cousins, (Cynthia Rylant) and Brambly Hedge. Heehee

I love Anne of Green Gables! And everything written by L.M. Montgomery! They are so great. Also Dahl, and Eleanor Estes.

Oh yeah, I forgot Winnie-the-Pooh! lol. :) I love Winnie-the-Pooh. He's sweet. He's actually really funny, but you don't get half the jokes until you're older. Like I am right now.

I love Pipi Longstockings and Anne of Green Gables! Such great books! SatTPC (Sadako (sp?) and the Thousand Paper Cranes) sure wasn't a "feel good" book for me. I really liked it, but it made me really sad. Other books I love . . . Hmmm. I love Beverly Clearly and Roald Dahl books. I think my all time fav, though, is The Big Red Barn. It's this really sweet picture book with really cool pictures. It's more like a poem put into a book. I love it! My mom read it to me all the time when I was little. It's my best "feel good" book!

Oh, I love that book!! My mom used to read it to me and my brother too!!!! Oh, it's so cute!!!!
(March 1, 2010 - 9:10 pm)
oh, yeah. Winnie The Pooh for sure.

I didn't really like Beverly Cleary. I haven't read the Anne of Green Gables series *gasps* but I want to read Before Green Gables. I read mostly mystery and such so I haven't read many feel-good books. The end of Ramona and her Mother made me cry though. (in a good way. By the way, I was eight) Laterz! Spam thing says GTOE! (instead of G-Force)

...Emma-Jean Lazarus Fell Out Of A Tree. It's not an exceptional book or anything, but I can really connect with the main character a lot, and, depending on the cause of my not 'feeling good,' it can cheer me up...
I loved all the books that you mentioned, too! The ones that I've read, anyway.
My books are also arranged in abecedarian order. Normally, I am not an organized person, bbut I really value my books, and I always end up making special exceptions for them. And I want them to be easy to find.

Harry Potter, like Wolfgirl said.
Also there's this one book called The Sandy Bottom Orchestra that I got at some used bookstore. I don't know what exactly I like about it, but I've read it an absurb number of times, because, yeah, it makes me feel good.

@Granitepaw: Um... And they make fun of me for only having two legs?

The fictional cats are invading real threads.
Granitepaw, you are a fictional character. This is not a warriors role-play. This is a book discussion forum, for humans. Real humans. You don't see anyone from the Percy Jackson Role-play here, do you?
And not to mention, cats like Granitepaw lack the ability to use the internet, or to type. So how is he/she entering this discussion forum at all? It makes no sense. And even if you pretend to be talking, cats cannot speak English. Even the anthropomorphised ones in the warriors series, who can do many unnatural things—BloodClan, for instance, created collars in the first series, I believe—do not have the vocal capacity to communicate orally.
If you plan to participate in this thread, please do so as a human being. If you plan to continue playing this cat, please do so on role-playing threads. All right?
