Chatterbox: Blab About Books

"Feel-Good" Books
In order to...

In order to counteract Warriors, I'm going in alpha order across my bookshelf and making a thread for the first five books. I'm skipping PBosch's books, though, because there's already a thread for those.

Savvy?

Also, I just realized I'm gonna skip around more because there's already threads for other things, or they're boring or obscure, or whatevah.

And fourth is feel-good books, because I have a lot of those in the early letters of the alphabet.

For instance, Frances Hogson Burnet (sp?), Beverly Cleary, Roald Dahl, and the book Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes.

Technically speaking I'm too old for these, and I'd probably never read them by choice now, but I like to flip through them every now and then. Because y'see, they're "feel-good" books. They give the heart a *warm and fuzzy feeling*.

Anyone have books like these?

ANNE OF GREEN GABLES! I will never get tired of reading the series. :)

Personally, Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes didn't really make me "feel good". If you know what I mean...?

Oh yeah.  :)

Mandy by Julie Andrews Edwards is my feel good book, it's like comfort food, and I don't even know why.  It's not even my top favorite book.  :D

The Half Pennies Find a Home.  OMG!!  I love that book so much!!!  It's the cutest!!!!  And, well, yes, it's kind of young for me, but my mom used to read it to me all the time, and I just can't help but love it!!!!

Um.... I'll have to think a bit more before I OH!!  Saffy's Angel!!!  I LOVE that book!!!!!  It's by Hilary McKay.

The Best Loved Doll.

One Kitten is Not Too Many.  (I think that's the name)

Hmm.... More later.

Hey Katherine, I'm guessing you have something against these threads, but I really wish you'd stop sending them to the back.  It's really nice to finally be able to use BaB again.  You know, it was originally built so that people could talk about books.  I appreciate it if you would let us do that.  And I don't think I know of anyone doing that to the RP threads, if they have, I'm sorry, but that's still no reason to do that to our threads.  Thanks.

I found them when searching for Saffy on amazon, OMG!!!  I put them on hold immediately, and got them yesterday, and right away starting reading Indigo's Star, and finished that this morning, and have been reading Permanent Rose ever since, and am about three quarters of the way through!!!!!!  AAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!  I'm so happily obsessed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  These are seriously some of the best books ever!!!!  This family is so insane, I love every one of them, even horrible Bill!!!!

Bye!!!!!

AWW!!!  I just finished Permanent Rose, so now I have to wait until this afternoon to read the next, because Caddy Ever-After is still waiting for me at the library!!!  How will I ever wait that long???

Well, I've started reading it (oh no, I'm starting that bad habit of running commentaries of my life to no one in particular again), and it's written in a different style that I'm not sure I like, and the first bit creeped (spell-check doesn't think that's a word) me out a bit... but it seems to be alright now.......  Anyway, I'm a little disappointed, but not giving up!!

I don't get it. Why are you always sending threads to the bottom? That's really rude, and it's called trolling, so please stop.

Does this have anything to do with that warriors thread created by Moonfur? If so, read it for my opinion on the topic.

Oh, and I'm also Goldberry, so her post is mine...

You think this thread is trolling? It's a book discussion. That's what BaB is for. It's not just here to push you down, it's here because we want to talk about the topic. It's not trolling, and it's not rude. Maybe ML shouldn't have said what she did about counteracting Warriors, but really, I get where she's coming from.

No no, Ima was saying what Katherine did was trolling!  And I agree.

*grins overly happily*  I know it's silly, but I love it when people address me by name, or say something about me, like they comment on a habit of mine, because I know that they are paying attention to me, and they care enough to note things about me... sorry if I'm weirding you out....  I've had a lot of problems with not feeling neglected after I quit public school.
