Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Book Recommendations
Ok, I need...

Ok, I need book advice.

I love to read but it's getting harder and harder for me to find any good books. Does anyone have any good book recommendations?

Also, has anyone else read the Young Wizards series by Diane Duane?

Look on Blab About Books.

A bunch of people (including me!) recently recommended a bunch of books here: http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/blababoutbooks/node/389958

And yeah, I read the first two books in the Young Wizards series. So You Want To Be A Wizard  and the next... Deep Wizardry? They're pretty awesome and I've been meaning to read the rest, so no spoilers! Sorta like halfway between Harry Potter and A Wrinkle In Time. And they were written long before Harry Potter. The author, Diane Duane, must've quite a lot of research, which is doubly impressive since there wasn't really an internet at the time. I mean, where do you find information about ancient systems of magic outside of Wikipedia?

Yes, I did sorta wax eloquent about that. Imma stop now.

Here is one that is VERY underrated:

Because of Mr. Terupt, by Rob Buyea. It's about seven kids with competing personalities and a teacher who brings them all together.  They have wacky adventures and all is well.

Until the end of part one, when something horrible happens that changes everything...

It's number one in the Mr. Terupt series, a trilogy, and once you get hooked, there is no going back!
