This seems pretty cool. 

As a note, my familiars are both rats*. I have pet rats in real life, and they do better with other rats, so I have two. I can't decide naming them Hazel and Sonic and making them exactly like my real rats, or naming them Nutmeg and Cinnamon and not. 

*They are not Scabbers type rats, or the typical bad image of rats. I will try to make them very realistic and fancy/pet rats.

By the way I have a barn owl named Stella.

I head outside to check the mail, hoping for a letter from my penpal.

Sifting through catalogs, letters, and bills, I see a hint of emerald ink.

My heart races.

Could it be...

I check the return address. "Minerva McGonagall, Hogwa-" "Oh.My.Gosh."

I rip open the envolope.

I can't belive this! I GOT MY LETTER!

"But how do I get to London?" I wonder aloud. My question is answered when I see a small enclosed packet of Floo Powder.  Heart thrumming with excitement, I start to pack.

A sack lunch, fifty dollars- all my money- I can convert it at Gringotts. My spare glasses go into my backpack, and that's that! Almost.

I head downstairs to my rat's Double Critter Nation. Coaxing the rats out, I cuddle them, then put them in their carrier cage. Humming, I clean their cage, then wash out their carrier cage. With the rats on my shoulders-Hazel, Sonic, Nutmeg, and Cinnamon-I take the cage up.(Carrier cage inside.) I push aside our bookshelf to reveal our never-used fireplace. Writing a quick note before I go, I pull all my stuff into the fireplace. I toss up the Floo Powder.

"Diagon Alley!" 

Is it too late to change my house to Hufflepuff?

I look both ways ways, and then run across the road to my mailbox. There is a Cricket magazine, but There is something that excites me more. A letter. With emerald ink. The return address is Minerva McGonagal... I don't read the rest of the return address. I tear it open. I realy got it!!! I think as unfold the letter.

wrapped in brown paper is a powder...Flue Powder! I run to my room tripping over my little sister. "Sorry" I say not stopping, I'm afraid this is all a good dream. I run in to my moms room and grab a suitcase, then I run into my room. I look around what do I need to pack? Some drawing stuff, a book, all my money. I run into the kitchen and grab some snacks. I run back into the living room. "What are you doing? Running away?" Asks my dad. 

"No! I'm going to Hogwarts!!"

"Realy?" I show them my letter. "By then."

"Bye." I hug them all good bye. "I'll send you a letter every day!"

I say as I step in to the fire place.

"Diagon Alley!" 

I shake soot of my hair. My rats all appear to be black-furred. "Jeez, why couldnèt I have gotten a clean fireplace?" I complain. Looking around me, I seem to be in Ollivander's, with boxes and boxes of wands surrounding me. "Oh well, I'll start my shopping here- wait, no! Gringotts!" 

I head out of Ollivander's. The silvery-haired owner gives me an odd look. I get out and away from his big, pale, eyes as fast as I can. Arriving at Gringotts, I change my money into 10 Galleons, 6 Sickles, and 29 Knuts. How am I supposed to get all my school stuff with only that much money? 

While I'm pondering that, a goblin approches me. "You a CBer?"                                     At first, I don't get what they mean. Then I nod. "Here." They shove 60 Galleons into my hands. "Admins said to give this to you." NOTE: Admins, I hope you don't mind giving away money!

Yes! Thank you, Admins! I happily head around Diagon Alley, getting all my supplies, plus a extra jade-green robe for weekends. "I don't need a familiar, do I?" I tickle Cinnamon's tummy. 

The getting of school supplies goes pretty smoothly, except for a weird experience getting my wand. I do make a stop at the magical-creatures shop to let my rats run around in the "Meet Your Familiar," area, and meet a nice girl named June buying a barn owl named Stella. Eventually, I borrow Madame Malkin's fireplace and head to Platform 9 and 3\4s.

 As long as you don't spend it all at Honeydukes.
