Because the other

Because the other...

Because the other one is getting kind of long, even with the pages.

Also, TNÖ and Mary, I'm sorry if I got a little testy over on the other thread. It's not really your fault that the Hogwarts characters have got left behind a little - we have to keep playing them ourselves. I just have to find a way to bring us back.

Okay, then? Continue, please.

Okay. So... could someone fill us in a little more? I get that Voldemort and Bellatrix are flirting, but beyond that... I'm sorta lost.

((Okay, so yes, Voldy and co are at the manor, and they're the only ones actually completely active, and at Hogwarts there are a bunch of kids... uh, fiddling around with... well, I don't quite know, but they're hanging out with all the professors, who're freaking out over... uh, the villains, I think. And then there are a bunch of people running away. So, does that sum it up?))

((yeah, I guess so. *is still confused, even though knows shouldn't be because started the whole running away device*))

((And Rose Weasley didn't know what had happened to all the kids who ran away, so she thinks they've been kidnapped and is going to try and find them, but she hasn't left yet. Btw, I thought Voldemort's soul was so damaged, he couldn't love any more. And hadn't we agreed that the BellaxVoldy thing would be completely one-sided, anyway?))

Rose woke up and wondered how anyone could've gotten into Hogwarts without being found, but she couldn't figure it out. She supposed that they must have used a secret passageway, but she didn't know of any. She was only in her first year, after all, and she'd never yet broken any rules. Therefore, she'd had no need to hide from anyone or go somewhere suddenly. She decided she'd have to ask James if she could borrow the Marauder's map; he'd probably let her, they were cousins after all. When she walked out of the girl's dormitory, however, she saw Holly standing near the door.

"What are you doing up so early in the morning?" Rose asked Holly.

(She's my cat, and also named after my mother, Luna Lovegood-Tune...)

Holly started as a girl apparently named Rose walked up to her and began to talk to her. She answered, "Um, well...I was looking for my cat's toy because she kept howling for some reason, and she didn't stop when I gave it to her, ad I'm sorry if she woke you." Then it dawned on heras Luna was scratching on the door to get out. "Hey, I bet that Luna was howling because she wanted to show me something, but it can probably wait until morning." The cat gave her such a stare that she was forced to say, "Do you have a map or something and maybe something to hide us with? She needs to show us NOW, apparently." She shook the girl's hand. "By the way, I'm Holly. It's nice to meet you!" They headed out the door, following the cat.

(Hey, Ima, can they be like, BFFs? That would be fun! Please?!?)

Lena, Luna's Holly's cat.

((@ Ima: Well, BellaxVoldy was going to be one-sided, and then it sort of... wasn't. Which is okay with me, personally... And regarding: Voldy's soul is too damaged to love, I think there are ways around that.))

((Sure, they can be BFFs. ;D))

"I'm Rose." Rose said. "Nice to meet you, too. I don't currently have a map or anything that can hide us, but my cousin James has both. He usually wakes up before anyone else does. We'd have to go into the boys' dormitory, but I don't know how else to get it. To tell you the truth, I was going to go ask to borrow the map anyway. There are a lot of students missing, and I was going to try and see if I could figure out what happened to them. That can wait though."

When they got to the boys' dormitory, they became quieter. They didn't want to wake anyone up. They walked inside (closing the door very quietly) only to find that James wasn't there!

"He's probably out somewhere on his own - James, is always up to something. Unfortunately, knowing him, it's bound to be something he'd need his map and invisibility cloak for - see, he took it with him. Well, we have been able to come this far without being noticed - do you think we could go see whatever Luna  wants us to see without either one without being caught?"

((Would Filch still be at Hogwarts in the second generation, or would they have hired a new caretaker, in which case we'd have to create one?))

(yay! thankies! *hugs*)

Holly thought for a minute. "Hmm.... I guess there is one way..." So there they were, secretly putting the Disillution charm on them, so they could walk closely to the walls, following Luna. She seemed to be happier now, that all the attention was on her, for her tail was held high and she had a smug look in her eyes. Holly whispered, "I wonder where we're going? I hope it's not dangerous... " Ima seemed to agree. Finally, they reached a door on Level three(i think) on the building. "Hm..." Holly thought. She quietly yanked open the door. The thought probably buzzed around both heads, "It's the supposed burned-down Room of Requirement!"

Oops. I meant Holly and Rose could be BFFs, not, um, Voldy and Bella.

@ Mary, I guess there might be some way around it... like, maybe Dumbledore was just wrong. Everyone makes mistakes, after all.

((@ Ima: Yay! And Bella and Voldy aren't "BFFs" (though that's rather amusing).

@ TNO (umlaut): Are you still in Costa Rica, or did you just not see my post?))

Yeah, see, Holly made a post where she asked if her character could be BFFs with Rose, and I was saying yes to her. Unfortunately, this was after you posted and before your post show up, so it looked like I said that Voldy and Bella were BFFs which was rather amusing, but not true.

((Yeh, I'm still in Costa Rica. I haven't been on the Internet for three days- a record, for me. Also, I have about 100 mosquito and sand flea bites (no exaggeration). Itches like crazy, but at least no sunburn. Blech.))

The Dark Lord was in a foul mood. What on earth had possessed him to sit when she asked him- for that matter, what had gotten into him that he actually touched her?

He sighed, sat, pressed his fingertips to his temple, bowing to the throbbing pain in his skull. He couldn't even get angry with her, somehow, not like he used to. Not even when she shouted at him like a madwoman.

Bellatrix. His face contorted into a grimace as her name- and her face- raced round and round behind his closed eyelids. Her desperate, pleading eyes whenever she looked at him- her habit of staring at him sidelong when she thought he wasn't looking- her stupid, ceaseless fantasies (and her valiant though futile efforts to quash them)- it made his skin crawl. At least, it had before.

"You're going soft, Tom," he muttered to himself. Sentimental, overly emotional- weak. All words he had once flung at her, inwardly shrieking with glee at the stinging pain that radiated from her eyes. All characteristics he despised and feared and had gone to great lengths to distance himself from.

The idea that he could, in fact, be kind to someone- that it came so very easily to be kind- it frightened him. Tom Riddle might have been a sentimental orphan boy desperate to find his parents, even to find /love/ in the hostile world he had been flung into- the Dark Lord most certainly was not.

And yet... He sighed, pressed his fingers against his eyes. There she was, abruptly, flitting around the edges of his conscious mind whenever he was awake, making discreet cameos in his dreams- approaching him without the slightest tremor, delighted by nothing more than his presence in her house. He hated her for it, but somehow he simply couldn't find it in him to be angry with her.

The Dark Lord sighed once more, then turned and wound his way down the passages and out to the overgrown grass in front of the mansion. He was met with cool, damp air, bright moonlight, and, thankfully, no sign of his unfailingly loyal Death Eater.

((woo sleep deprived... Voldy's kinda fun to write, heh... guilty-pleasure I s'pose... g'night... see you soon, no later than June 23 when we get back... *nodnod* though I'll try to get on before that...))
