A book haul

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Book Hauls!
A book haul...

A book haul is where you read/review a bunch of books at once, and I thought it would be fun to do a CB version!

Basically, you can do them by month, week, or anytime you buy/check out a bunch of books, and you write a super quick spoiler-free review and rate them on a scale of 1-5 stars. Sounds pretty simple, right? It's a great way to find book recommendations, and if you want to, take a picture of all of your books!

I'll post mine in the comments since it's going to be really long!

I'm going to the library today and I'll try to make a book haul when when I come back! (I'll mark up the ones that could be inappropriate).

I'm so excited that other people like Wildwood! It always seems like no one else likes the books I like, until i went to the chatterbox. If you haven't read Wildwood, I recommend it. If you have only read the first book, PLEASE read the others.

That's 30 books. Wow!

I can see you've got some good titles, though I can't read all of them, let's see...Imread Wolf by Wolf recently, and it was pretty good. Carve the Mark is on my TBR (to be read) list, and oooooooooh I recently finished Midnight at the Electric. Jodi Lynn Anderson is amazing!

Midnight at the Electric is so....*sigh* good. This is the kind of book that isn't everyone's type of thing but if it is your type of thing then you will absolutely love it! When you read it, really soak it in. Because if you end the book with a...open? philisophocal? mind and heart, it just leave you staring at the ceiling at thinking "wow." This book was, to quote a recent book haul in Epicreads that I watched...."like, emotional and powerful and impactful in ways I wasn't prepared for." Because it starts out pretty conventionally, plot speaking (still with nice writing style of course) The author has such a lovely writing style...like, every sentence is worth reading.

In case you hadn't read the summary, it's the stories of three girls/young women, once living in 2065 (good!!!! amazing!!!), one living in America 1930's during the Dust Bowl (her story is really amazing....I didn't know the Dust Bowl was that dramatic)  and one in the UK in the 1910's, after WW1 (aaaaa, her story is also just so strong in the human aspect). They're all cool! Aaaaaaand, As the inside cover said:

"While their stories span thousands of miles and multiple generations, Lenore, Catherine, and Adri's fates are entwined in ways both heartbreaking and hopeful. In Jodi Lynn Anderson's signature haunting, lyrical prose, human connections spark spellbindingly to life, and a bright light shines on the small but crucial moments that determine one's fate."

Huh, I didn't think about the book that way but I guess that's true.....ack! You see what I mean, there's just so many impactful concepts, it's hard to grasp one.
