Okay, this is

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Calm Down
Okay, this is...

Okay, this is not a book I'm talking about, but I want to bring this up anyway. Blab About Books is becoming like the political and religious arguments. When someone comes on who likes Twilight, she's bombarded with anti-Twilight comments, some - no offense - not-so-polite. I agree that there are far too many Warriors threads, but 1) I don't think the Warriors fans are seeing our threads asking them to keep it down and 2) It's a minor annoyance, but it's not the end of the world.

All I'm trying to say is, please calm down, people. I love books as much as you do, and I think that Blab About Books is a great place to talk about them. I just think we should try and be a little more polite when discussing books. And maybe we can try and come up with things we like about books we don't like. Take Twilight. I don't really like it, but there are some good parts about it. Like, um, *wracks brain* well, you get my point. ;)

Okay, I agree with Bookworm's idea... only I don't think Warriors people read our threads.

Okay, this thread is getting heated, which was not my intention. Sorry. :(

My fault. And Bookworm's, sort of. Sorry.

No, it's mine too, I guess.

I agree with Lena. I think I speak for most of the Warrior-lovers when I say, we will not make anymore threads. Is that ok? I mean, it's a waste of a perfectly good thread if it's already up, but no more from now on. Ok? Well except one more, cuz I have to make sure all the Warriors fans see it.

Ugh... I wrote a really long post and it got deleted by my computer... Anyway...

On the whole Grammar/spelling thing...

Yes, I understand your frustration if people are talking in text lingo. This is a pet peeve of mine and I get really annoyed if people do this outside their phones. However, I really don't think that people are misspelling things on purpose. I see mistakes that are corrected in later posts. And not everyone has perfect spelling. I'll use my 9 year old sister as an example. She has amazing sentence structure and a huge vocabulary when talking, but spelling isn't second nature to her. When she posts I have to sit on my hands to keep from correcting her on every missed period, comma, asterisk, and capital because she tends to give up if I criticize her on every thing she does. Plus, her posts start to sound like me speaking, not her. She also takes about 5 minutes to hunt-and-peck one little post, with 2-3 sentences. Now some of you might say that she shouldn't be on here until she has better skills, but she really wants to be part of the discussions, and she should be allowed to.

Basically, I am just trying to say that you should be patient with people. Maybe some people don't know everything about a given topic (i.e, thinking that someone with Paw on the end of their name could have kits), or don't have perfect spelling, but I am practically SURE that they aren't doing it just to annoy you! Rivepelit has recently been posting as Riverpelt, and None of the cats on Stormclan are posting in text speak.  If you can't understand what a post means, then ignore it, rather than saying, "Can you guys PLEASE spell better? It's not funny or cool to have bad grammar on here." This will most likely hurt feelings.

Oh, and Bookworm didn't kill anyone. Yes, having a learning disability is a slightly extreme excuse for every bad typer, but her main message is right. :)

And Lena, I'm sorry if I've shoved your trying-to-be-peaceful thread into even more turmoil. *sighs*

I personally don't have anything against the Warrior threads. If a series is well written enough to sparks so much imagination and have so many fans, why should anyone ruin their fun? It's not like the Warriors threads keep any other threads from existing. All you have to do to get to other threads is click the next button, which isn't hard at all, so I think we should just let the Warrior fans be.

As for text lingo, I do agree it's annoying when used in excess, but lately we seem to be all over one abbreviation or something. Let's all try to gently correct improper usage of grammar, but also focus on the message the post/comment in conveying, not just how it's conveyed.

On another subject, I think one of the problems on Chatterbox is not merely we're getting too heated up over debates and such, it's that we seem to be incapable of agreeing to disagree. Everyone defending their own opinion is fabulous and all - independent thinking is great - but we really shouldn't try to force our opinion on other people or negatively put down (a.k.a, trash) opinions we don't agree with.

Thank you, Allison and Willa. I totally agree. :)

Okay, okay, it's over, let it lie. The Warriors are responding, Holly has calmed them down (see announcement thread), and all is well. Agreeing to disagree is back on DtE, where we have reached a harmonious decision about religious debates, and the spelling/grammar, while it's annoying, can be ignored, I guess. Sooo... *cheers* We're all friends again! Great!

Double Yay! But, of course, now there is a new problem between the warriors and each other. Now it is that the deputy from NightClan thinks that the leader is using this clan for power, and once they(The origional five Clans) take down the NightClan, then they'll go for BirchClan, they so on until they reach StormClan, which, i think, is the most used Warriors' thread, by far. Almost 200 posts! But the origional Five Clans want only themselves here. Please, I need all of you guys' help to stop all this madness! Please!

(Oh, and just to let you know, Moon and StarClan is made by Rivepelit, or who she/he is. I agree with the origional clans on this though, the Clan was created for power. I know so!)

So, sorry to bother you all, but I will need your help, as the Peacekeepers. (If there is such a thing on her, i'll join, if not i'll make a group like that!)

Thank you for reading this,

Holly (Sorry)

Um... I lost you somewhere there. I'd love to help, but I don't follow Warriors, so I'm not really sure what you're talking about.

Yeah, I agree with you, Lena. Especially on people liking Twilight. It seems like nobody can say they like it without outlining a whole paragraph on morals, plot, why they liked it, etc. I mean, no, it's not my absolute favorite book ever, but I just thought it was fun to read and interesting.

Also, I really don't mind the Warriors threads that much. I've never read the books, and I don't plan to, but (I agree with Allison here) if Warriors readers really want to talk about them, why not? That's what Blab About Books is for, right? Discussing books. And Warriors happens to be really popular right now. I'm sure in a few weeks all the Warriors threads will be dormant and the other threads will be more active.

Anyway, just my opinion. But I agree that we could all calm down a little when we dislike a book. :)
