Warriors Trolls
I'm making this...

I'm making this post in reaction to the shocking amount of trolls on the anti-Warrior threads recently.

For those that don't know, trolling is the act of purposefully antagonizing other people on the Internet, generally on message boards.

Trolling is usually done for lulz, and in the case of a single-topic forum (such as TS), it is tolerable to a degree. However, on a general-topic forum (such as Chatter), it is unnecessary and rude because there are usually threads for and against a popular topic (such as Warriors, in this case); and if there aren't threads for both sides, they can be easily made.

Now. If the diehard Warrior fans want a troll war, I'll happily give them one. I would prefer not to, however, so I politely request that Warriors fans stay off non-Warriors threads, unless they wish to post a non-Warriors comment (e.g, "I love Terry Pratchett" on a thread about fantasy in general, rather than "I love Warriors" on a thread about fantasy in general (newsflash for those who don't know: Warriors en't fantasy, it's realistic (animal) fiction with a dash of cat-religion thrown in).

Conversely, all anti-Warrior people will stay off Warriors threads unless they have a Warriors-related comment (e.g, "I like the first six Warrior books, but I feel that Erin Hunter Jumped the Shark with the next twelve books" rather than "I love [insert other title here]" on a Warriors discussion thread).

Can we all agree to this, please? And, upon agreement, stick to it? I guess this is kind of an anti-troll treaty, of sorts. Of course, the agreement encompasses every title in BaB, not just Warriors (I just used Warriors 'cause that's the most commonly trolled title).

Yes? No?

I agrees.

"I like mountain biking" or some other such nonsense would also be considered trolling on a non-trolling thread, yes?

Go TNÖ. Let the trolling war begin! (or end peacefully now, hopefully)

Very much agreed. I'm glad someone brought this up.

Also, may I add something? It's fine to talk about Warriors on your Warriors threads... but could we please keep them to a minimum of... I dunno, even just four would be good. I don't- and I know others agree (like Lena! Lena agrees with me!)- find Warriors interesting at all, and we come onto BaB to discuss different types of books that we enjoy- or, as the case may be, that we don't.

Either way, the obsession level is just too high- there's anywhere from between seven to nine Warriors threads on here every day, and of the surviving threads, two are Twilight (which is fine for healthy debating, but we can discuss books we like, too). Then they're two roleplays and one or two virtually empty threads, and overall, you're left with very little selection for non-Warriors-fans, as all of our other book threads are pushed to the back (see TNO's- umlaut- classic literature threads, all now sadly deserted, and Riley's MfCB threads, all devoid of current discussion, and a few others).

For instance, maybe some of the clans could... form alliances? Don't the cat dudes like doing that? And after forming alliances, maybe they could... *mutters something* ...merge threads? Pleaseohplease?

Wow, Mary W., I actually DO agree with you, and everything you said. Please, cats and clans and all your elements, keep it to four threads. Okay? Thanks! :)

Well stated, TNÖ. Although most trollers are probably not going to care about this.

All offensive comments abut Warriors should stay off the Warriors threads. For instance, in the Nightclan thread(I'm the deputy), someone called Hawkstar a bumbling furball. *hisses and spits*

No. On RP threads, yes. On Warriors discussion threads, the anti's are allowed to state their opinions calmly just the same as you. If you find it offensive, deal with it. It's our opinion, and we're allowed to share it.

I believe you mean:

May we still post by our "Warrior"s name? I like to have one secret name. It is kind of a secret what you are named. Do you know?

Sorry for nitpicking, but that type of thing is just not acceptable here.

Firepaw, I personally think it's fine to keep your warriors name.

I, for one, do NOT like Warriors or trolling, but having a warrior name is completely okay. For instance, if someone uses Cullen (yuck) as a screen name, and posts on non-twilight things, it's totally fine, although they may be yelled at for bad choices. as long as they're not talking about Twilight, it doesn't count as trolling.

I agree with poetonearth13.

Yes, screenames are fine- though Heavens, I hope no one would ever use "Cullen." That's just... *shakes head*

Ha, someone called one of the cat dudes a bumbling furball! :) Too funny! (Wasn't me, though; as a rule, I don't read the Warriors threads.)

I agree with Lena- who was, er, agreeing with me, so that doesn't really count for anything. ;)
