Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Twilight?
Is there ANYONE...

Is there ANYONE out there who has not read Twilight but is sick to death of it? I haven't but I think that people are goin a little twi-crazy. All the teen book reveiw site are all Twilight saturated.  Does anyone else agree with me? If you do, please tell me. I do NOT want to be the only person in the world who feels this way. Please also feel free to argue with me.

I don't think that twilight is awful. I think it's not okay to say that twilight is bad or awful or horrible. Stephanie Meyer is probably a good writer. I don't like twilight because like the topic she's writing about. It's not horrible.

If you think it's awful, say why.

I cannot stand any mention of Twilight in a positive way.

Oh, skewers... when I said "inteligent conversation," I meant with the exception of shish-kabobed candy. ;)

Shish-kabobed candy was exactly what I thought of also! :)

Mara- I don't think you're alone. The girls in my school think I bash Sparklepants because I envy him... not true. I bash him because his following has gotten too big. And frankly, he's just annoying.

Hopefully what Mara means is:

"Most of my friends at Hebrew school love Twilight, too, and I can't believe all you people! Twilight is the best book ever! (My sister totally agrees with you, though...)

I'll let you in on a little secret...but maybe I shouldn't, because I can't trust all you Twilight-hating fools... what the heck... I'm jealous of Bella. Everything is so perfect in her life, and her boyfriend is perfect! Argh! I still love it, though."

Sorry, I'm not trying to be mean, it's just... I'm a grammar/spelling stickler... except when trying to take over the world with my evil plot to corrupt children's minds... /see Lena for details/ ;) *joke*

Bella? PERFECT? WHAAAT? Um... her life is one-dimensional. She's so good at everything that she never takes chances, never learns from her mistakes, never laughs at herself. She doesn't have to put any effort into anything. Then a vampire messes her life up, and she ends up *spoiler alert* dying because of it! Perfect? NO.

Edward, perfect? Umm... if you like psycho vegetarian vampire stalkers who, um, sparkle in between slights to abused girlfriend's (rather pathetic) character. Then, yes, he's a regular hottie. Sure. And I'm the Bride of Frankenstein.

Lol, Reuben... the girls at your school think you're jealous of Eddie? Ha! :)

Unfortunately, I have heard this phrase:"Just because people like Edward Cullen more than they like you doesn't mean you can hit him with a tootsie roll on a stick!" Sad, really.

LOL! Are you serious! *cracks up* That's... bizarre. But rather amusing. :)

Imagine, liking Edward Cullen better than a real person... I mean, I can see liking, say, Pippi Longstocking more than your teacher, for instance, but Edward Cullen vs. ...well, anybody? That's relatively strange, IMO.

*is becoming obsessed with the abbreviations* Sorry!

Yes, I am serious. Digression: A girl my sister knows said she valued Nick Jonas's life over her own. End digression. Edward Sparklepants (long story) is insanely worshipped. Everywhere. We must fight! Stop the sparkle! TROS!!!

Random Girl on Myspace: PMBI, but IMHO, NRN- OM.

Crews: [blinks, reaches for "Internet for Dummies"]

Officer Whose Name Escapes Me: [leaning over the computer]: "Pardon my butting in, but in my humble opinion, no response necessary- old man.

Crews: [blinks some more]

[later]

Crews: [talking to Reese] There's a whole other language out there that we don't even know!

Reese: Uh-huh.

Haha, Life. I love that show. =]

There are people out there who like Nick Jonas more than themselves, and/or people who talk almost completely in abbreviations? Um... that is relatively disturbing. No, extremely disturbing.

Yes, but seriously, there are a lot of people on here using terms such as "u"= "you" and incorrect grammar/spelling... the occasional term such as "FYI"- things that everyone knows and sound moderately intelligent, and typos are understood, but when you start writing like Smeyer- i.e., text talk language, etc.- it just becomes sort of... redundant...? wrong word... but as the Administrators put it, we are on a literary website. We shouldn't be talking like we're texting or IMing.

Agreed?
