Why I hate wands: The biggest problem with the HP series
I know that...

I know that wands are VERY important in the HP series: the twin cores, Deathly Hallows, disarming other people, etc., etc., but I still hate wands in the HP series.

Here are my reasons why:

Your whole magical existence is revolving around your wand. If something happens to your wand and you don't have it anymore (it's broken, stolen, lost, etc.), you can no longer defend yourself or use any magic under your control at all. Without a wand, you are basically a Squib + some magic you don't have control over.

What do you think?

*walks in in a very fancy dress with a veil over her face*

*rolls out a very fancy oriental rug, sits on it with fingers up, like she is meditating, and speaks words of wisdom*

What is a master swordsman without his sword? But he can replace his sword with a new one, can he not?

What is a violinist without her violin? She can replace her violin, however.

What is a Dragon Rider without his Dragon? Nothing, not even a Rider. That's a little harder to replace.

What is a Wizard without his wand? What is a Witch without her wand? They can use some magic without a wand, but they can use any wand they wish and replace their wand, they are not becoming a Squib forever. Have you read the Deathly Hallows, and how many times Wands were replaced and used by someone else? Wands are not just sticks, and yes, they can be replaced.

You cannot argue that the Swordsman cannot replace his sword and still have the same talent.

So it is with a Wizard and his or her wand.

*quietly bows, rolls up the carpet, and leaves*

I know. I was disappointed with that. What's the point of having magic, then, if it all depends on some stick of wood???

Mice, I get that, it's frustrated me too, but some spells can be preformed without a wand, and wands can be easily replaced.

Tongue out

I actually like the idea that Witches and Wizards rely on wands for their magic. I see them as having a symbiotic relationship with their wands. Harry is almost friends with his wand. Wands can be replaced, and really Witches and Wizards would be kind of OP without having to use wands. I think it's cool part of the HP world.

I agree with Mirax.I think that the weakness that they have, that they relie on thier wands makes the series a little more interesting, beacause they would be so OP if they didn't sort of have to relie on something.
