Why I hate wands: The biggest problem with the HP series
I know that...

I know that wands are VERY important in the HP series: the twin cores, Deathly Hallows, disarming other people, etc., etc., but I still hate wands in the HP series.

Here are my reasons why:

Your whole magical existence is revolving around your wand. If something happens to your wand and you don't have it anymore (it's broken, stolen, lost, etc.), you can no longer defend yourself or use any magic under your control at all. Without a wand, you are basically a Squib + some magic you don't have control over.

What do you think?

Moonlight

Yeah ... I'll stick with the Inheritance Cycle, thanks.

Wait! You like the Inheritance Cycle? That is my favorite series and I think that it is the best series in the whole world!!!!!

I've mentioned it all over the place. Daisy, Rose bud, and Cron all have read it too. I can only come up with those names now, though, but there's probably more fans here.

I do have a picture of Arya running around here somwhere ...

But I ship Murtagh and Nasuada. Not Eragon and Arya. OHMIGANDALF PAOLINI, THAT IS AN AWFUL IDEA!!

Sloth says haox. Yes, it was a hoax.

Uh-uh. Give me Arygon over Nasutagh any day. Ick.

But yeah, HUGE ERAGON FAN HERE! HI! :)

Point taken, but I still love wands.

I am such a potterhead, but I completely and wholly agree with you! I mean seriously. Do magic with your fingertips, or something! Your wand breaks, it breaks! Deal with it!

As someone very wise once said, "The best  wizards can do magic without a wand."

I think.

To Cho, Whatevs. XD >_< JK! I get what your saying. Still...also the ending of the last book hints at romance between them....*lips curve into a smile*

I kinda agree except for the fact of Hagrid. Hagrid has the remains of his wand in his pink umbrella and he uses them ofted throughout the books. (They got broken in his third year.) and Ron. When Ron's wand broke due to a crash into the Womping Willow, his family got him a new one.

Also on a not so unrelated subject I LOVE THE INHERATENCE CYCLE!!!!!! I have all four books and I can't wait for book five.

Actually, I would say that this problem adds interest to the story. A wand grants its wizard astounding powers-- so it makes sense that there are drawbacks.

Very true.

I just wish J.K. Rowling had actually made someone's wand be stolen. Yes, Ron's wand was broken, but that's not good enough.

Ermmm, Cho?

Haven't you read the Deathly Hallows? No offense :P :) but...

Harry's wand breaks and he steals Draco's? And Ron stole someone's wand?
