I hate Divergent and Twilight.
I would be OK with debating it with other people.
Why I hate Divergent:
Tris: Tris is a Mary Sue. She never is truly and deeply scarred by horrible things as she should be. She is a flat, one-dimensional character.
Four: Four is an Alpha Male. He is mentally and physically abusive towards Tris and people think that's so hawt!!! If Four weren't attractive, Tris wouldn't end up with him.
The Faction system is interesting but unbelievably flawed and convoluted. Despite the fact that everyone takes a test that sorts them into a faction, they still get to choose.
So a girl who is super nerdy and Grade-A erudite material with NO ATHLETIC SKILL could say, "woah, Dauntless plays games all the time and is teenage wish fulfillment! I wanna go there!"
And when that girl inevitably fails at being a Dauntless, she gets another chance to choose a different faction, right?
NOPE, SHE'S FACTIONLESS, NO SECOND CHANCES!
Also, Dauntless is obnoxiously buttered up. "OOOH, Join Dauntless! We do parkour and games while everyone else does actual flipping work!"
And letting people choose factions is also ridiculous because everyone would choose the kewlest factions.
Why is being Divergent so rare? I mean, everyone on Earth EXCEPT Tris probably has multiple facets to their personality, but nope! Tris is the only Divergent.
Why I hate Twilight:
Bella: Uggh life sucks!!! I'm sooo sad!
Edward: Ur so cool Bella, even though you have no likability or character traits other than biting your lip. Wanna hang out????
Jacob: Hi i'm here to cause conflict
Nessie: Hi i'm here to eventually marry Jacob
Edward: I have 2 go!
Bella: NO!!! Now instead of trying to find you like a strong female heroine, i'll curl up into fetal position cause i'm a damsel in distress!
IN SUMMARY:
Jacob: Durp abs
Edward: Bella is my life
Nessie: (rips open stomach)
Bella: hi i have no character traits

And the factions system is supposed to be flawed. That's kind of the point.

Novelist, I agree. The very first Warriors book was messed up. It gets better as the writers progress, though. And Divergent was waaaaaay to kiss you for me. Yuck. I've never read Twilight, so, yeah.

I AGREE SO MUCH! I've never read Twilight, but I HATE DIVERGENT!
IT is so terrible! I mean... the romance! THe characters! They are so flat! And the love... it was so mushy... so fake... so unrealistic... so... I had nightmares about how terrible it was!!!!! NIGHTMARES! Tris is so flat! No character at ALL! I mean, SPOILER I'm glad she died. SERVES HER AND FOUR RIGHT! SPOILER ENDS. I HATE DIVERGENT! I was crying because it was SO BAD! I had NIGHTMARES!
Sorry for the caps, but I really, really, really, really, really, really HATE IT! The 'romance' was so fake! Mushy! Unrealistic! And the plot was so predictable!

I like Tris. Because she's a flat charecter. I love her. Because she's such a flat charecter. ...There's never been a charecter like her...I do agree, Divergence should be more common, but... *opens mouth and screams* IF IT WAS COMMON YOU WOULD STILL HATE ON THE BOOK AND PROBABLY WOULD HATE ON THE FACT THAT IT WAS COMMON BECAUSE DIVERGENCE IS SPECIAL!!!
Oh, Irene, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. (I use Irene instead of G-O-D, I'm Christian, so I don't really like using G-O-D.) It's just that... for People who hate on Harry Potter... they were like "SO PREDICTABLE!" Spoiler alert "VOLDEMORT DIES! DUMBLEDORE DIES!" End spoiler. If Voldemort hadn't have died, they would've hated on that fact instead...of course they can't let people away with he's not dead!
Anyways, back to Tris. I think her...emotionlessness is a huge part of her charecter. It makes her different. It makes her feel pain...and it makes her evil. Yes, sort of evil. I said it. I think it's amazing and makes her flawed and kind of cool. Except her capability to pretend to be a Valley Girl "Can you be a girl?" "'Kay. *twirls hair*."
But seriously? There's a bit to it I don't like. SCENE INBOUND!!!
Tris: I just shot Will and killed him!

Tris: I wonder if Christina and Tori lived. Doesn't really matter, cuz' I killed Will and Christina will be mad at me. Oh well.
HOW CAN YOU NOT REGRET KILLING WILL?! This is what I meant by Evil...heartless...and FYI, I shipped Trill, untill she killed him...with NO remorse. At all. AT ALL! I've never read twilight, but my older brother is refusing to let me read it...although my parents say I can. More scenes from Divergent:
Tris: ...Al died. Was this my fault?
Four: Nah it wasn't your fault (although it was by the way, I'm just not saying that. It was really obvious)
Tris: Okay! Thanks Four, I feel really better about it now and don't even look back on it! I don't even feel sorry!
Irene, why did Al even twist? I mean, Tris was there for him. He crushed on her. And then he attacked her. I hated it, but I still love Divergent. It's an amazing book. And now, scenes from my life, for no reason.

Kiki(not real name): OMIGOSH ZIANNA I KNOW RIGHT! FIRESTAR IS AMAZING!!!!!
Me: ...I read one of your Warriors Guide books (but not the actual seires lol i'm too good for that). Doesn't like almost every charecter die a horrible bloody death?

Kiki: Well, not every main charecter dies...the only MC deaths are *lists so many MC deaths that she proves my point*
Me: ...I think Warriors has warped your vision of a good amount of MC deaths. Maybe one or three...not that many...*slinks back to the shadows with Annalee and they both just stand there, sulking while Kiki and Zianna talk about Warriors so loudly that Annalee and me can't hear eachother try to make conversation*
Annalee: Remember all those good adventures we had with Zianna and Kiki? They're over thanks to Warriors.
Me: ...Kill Erin Hunter. I want my friends back.
(What Kiki and Zianna are talking about) Kiki: That HollyLeaf plot twist was amazing!!!!
Zianna: Yeah, it was a work of art. She was just so bound to the warrior code!
(What me and Annalee hear) Kiki: *talking like a Pokemon but with warrior terms* Cat name, cat name, clan name, YAY! Meow!
Zianna: Cat name, clan name, cat name, bloody and brutal death, death, cat name, Firestar, Firestar, JAY FEATHER!!!! <3

Well, I havn't read Divergent or Twilight. (Nor do I want to read them)
but I will say this. For a long time now, My least favorite book is The Hunger Games. I don't like the plot, don't like the murder and killing and bloodshed, and I don't like how now almost everybody is saying " OHMYGOSH, I love the Hunger Games, Katness = awsome, I love the movie, I ship Peeta Katness ect.
So glad I got that out, hope I am not offending anybody, and I hope I am not the only one who thinks this way.

Ha, Icy, I thought your writing about Warriors was funny, though I actually like Warriors.
Also, Divergent's writing is terrible, its plot borrows from every other dystopian AND modern fantasy novel in existence, and even though you may say "but true love just happens!!" IT DOESN'T. TRUE LOVE HAPPENS OVER TIME, THROUGH A BUILDING OF TRUST. Not immediately! There is NO SUCH THING as love at first sight. That just means you looked at someone, thought, "They look hot!" and fell in love.
TRIS AND FOUR JUST THINK THAT THEY'RE HAWT!!! AND THAT'S WHY THEY "FALL IN LOVE".
Sorry about that... now for the other part.
Is it weird that written violence has no effect on me? Other kids all said they skipped all the warriors battles in the Warriors series because they were violent, but I read all of them, drinking them up.
