HARRY POTTER
Harry Potter= awesomeness...
Harry Potter= awesomeness. in my eyes. I really really really love Harry Potter. I've read all the books, and the worst characters, one of them is one of the best. So, I'm just saying, that I like Harry Potter, and I'll do anything to get my hands on one again. and when I was in confession, the preist told me a new book was coming out,: The Tales of Beetle the Bard. So bye and thank you for reading (if you did).

I think that HP is an allegory of the Devil and God--Voldy=Devil, Dumbledore=God or prophet of God, Harry=Christ (well, I mean, it's insinuated--*Spoiler!!!* He dies and then rises again) and when he dies, he goes to a pristine, white, shining train station....What do you guys think??

Somehow I doubt it. No offense, but can't someone just write a popular book without it being analyzed for religious content so much? Personally, I don't think Harry Potter has anything to do with religion. Yes, that makes it a secular book. Is that bad? I just like it. As a book (a series, actually) and not as a great piece of religious fiction.

I totally agree. I hate finding allegories in books (even though with some, like the Narnia series, it sort of sticks out). But I just thought that I should point out one possibility--I mean, it is possible, don't you think? I prefer reading books and taking them at face value. I liked the HP series itself, but I think it would be better if Harry himself wasn't so doom-and-gloom and always lashing out at his friends and house elves *coughcoughDobbycoughcough* even if Harry did have reasons to be a little *grin* unhappy. I've got one question: WHY would Hogwarts support a branch of the school (Slytherin) that produced only kids on the nastier side? Why wouldn't they abolish it?

Re: the Slytherin thing; I'm pretty sure the house would yell at 'em if they got rid of a house. Remember its song about how all the houses need to pull together, or the school will fall apart? I think in the fifth book? Yeah, haha...
Also, Slytherin doesn't JUST churn out pureblood bigots; that's just the house that all the pureblood bigots end up getting sorted into. There have been good Slytherins; Snape, Slughorn, Regalus (who was good in the end, anyway), I'm sure there's more but those were the major ones in the series.

Yeah, I see what you mean. :)
Re: your question about Slytherin. I think some people had a little too much power, if you know what I mean.

No, she doesn't use that exact phrase; it's just what I chose to sum up her views on the matter.
